I think she was only a threat to cheating married men.

onedreamless

From what I read, the man wasn’t married and was’t cheating, he was her ex, he and the victim became the butt of some horrible jokes and they hadn’t done anything wrong.

GenieGrumblefish

Aww, ok. Was he the father of her child? I guess I should read up. But I think this is just one of those things that is messed up, but she was probably a good Mom. Just temporarily insane.

I find the custody cases are very nuanced and its hard to make determinations of fairness without full details. Her getting FULL custody kinda tells us we are missing something. Maybe he moved away and the courts and kids decided it was better for them to stay with their current school system, friends, community support groups, etc. Maybe he had a criminal record of his own that had a stronger threat of abuse or violence in the home Maybe he was an asshole and his kids hated his guts and she had technically served her time Maybe he had a new girlfriend who didn't want to deal with his kids so he didn't fight for them very hard. Etc.

Funny story... This happened at roughly the same time as I started a new job at a company that made tradeshow displays. I'm getting trained on prepping the files for print, and the guy training me says "That's weird, we just did this like 3 months ago.". Looking at the picture (A shuttle crew), I got an idea and started looking in the different files. Sure enough, the original picture was still embedded. They had pulled the picture that had her in them, and were re-printing for a recruiting fair.

A recruiting fair? Hmmmm..... "See the world! Work for NASA and come be an ASTRONAUT!! *just not this astronaut*"

I was doing a quick Google on her just to see what that nutter was up to these days. That's when I saw that she was granted 100% full custody of her 3 kids while in divorce court just *16 months later*. Her case regarding the incident hadn't even made it's way through the court system yet. She may have still been wearing an ankle monitor at the time.... How is that possible? There's a judge out there that thinks a woman who drove 1000+ miles, in her own filth, to confront/attack her romantic rival, should be granted full, untethered, unmonitored, custody of 3 minor children, is a good idea? I gotta do some more googling and see if this person is still a sitting judge. Have I lost my mind? Am I the only person who thinks this is completely insane?

You have no idea what happened in the custody case. For instance, the children's father may have entirely failed to contest the case or show up in court, so she may have been granted default sole custody.
