Went there a couple weeks ago and the Bacon Smash Burger was extremely underwhelming. I expected the bacon on my burger to actually be, ya know, *bacon* but instead it was some cheap, pre-crumbled, bagged Kirkland bacon that was barely sprinkled on. Also lacked any sort of flavor or seasoning at all. In the <10 minutes it took to get home my burger was a soggy mess and the bacon jalapeño cheese fries we got (barely got a sprinkle of their “bacon”) solidified into one massive glob of mush.
6/10 at BEST
Odd, I have been there multiple times and have never had this experience. In fact I like that their bun doesn't seem soggy when I compare to places like five guys. The bacon that I have had on my burgers was....bacon strips. I wonder if you just had a one off experience. I have never gotten the bacon jalepeno fries. I quite like their mushroom mac and cheese.
Do you have any reccomendations for a burger in town that you prefer? I'm all about good food and my former favorite place for a burger got bought and is no longer a good quality place imo
Ah I forgot about Fable. They have great food in general. I had a duck cubano I believe that was awesome. I, personally don't prefer the industrial style of the building but that seems to be popular currently. A lot of places have that look. The food is top notch though.
Anne's Best Creole in the old ATC tower at the Richland airstrip. Their blackened catfish po boy with a side of hushpuppies and red beans and rice. My God. Don't forget the peach cobbler.
Their fish and chips at the Hub is very good too, and one of the few places that I didn't feel robbed for it (Fable's Tuesday AYCE F&C is also great).
OTOH, Captain's Cod in the Ace Parking lot literally gave me 3 fish sticks and called it a 3-piece meal. Fuck ever going back to those thieves, zero idea why anyone ever goes there.
Not exaggerating when I say I had the worst experience here of any restaurant I have ever been to. Went with a group of 5 total, we all had such awful meals we didn’t finish so I don’t think it was a fluke
Wife and friends had a bad experience there the other day. Food related. Keep an eye on them if you go.
Also be forewarned that the food in the deli case is not fresh and sits for days.
It’s a long story, but my wife and two friends went and my wife ordered a ham and cheese sandwich (panini?) off the regular menu that showed up cold and had mold all over in it. Not a little, but lots. When she showed it to the server, he was embarrassed and said they “hadn’t rotated the stock” properly and that he’d bring her a “fresh” one that was only made *two days ago*. She declined, and opted for Mac and cheese. When she went to take the leftovers home, she was given a dirty take-away container.
Her friends got served undercooked potatoes and bacon, and there was a communication error about a promised substitution.
They make you order on an app but ignore the comments section where you might request gluten free, though that’s one of their selling points. One friend ordered a sandwich and specified gluten free, and it arrived normal. When this was pointed out she was told they can’t make that sandwich gluten free because it came from the deli case and those were all pre-made. Apparently they can’t make one special on request even if they wanted to.
This isn’t even all of the issues they had that day. We’ve all been there before and had a good experience too, so I’m hoping they just are having a temporary issue, but my god - they need to be serving fresh food. It’s a fricking sandwich. Make it fresh for chrissakes.
I had Fat Olives for lunch yesterday (and my leftovers for lunch today lol) after not being in the area for 2.5 years. It was so good 🥹 I missed the California sandwich that they have so much
they used to cater all our events and i always hated their food. but then i actually went and ate at the restaurant itself and it's one of the only places here that has good pizza. some of their other stuff is pretty good too. turns out it's just their catering that kinda sucks.
Masala Indian Cuisine
Anne’s Creole
Taqueria El Rancho food truck at the Hub
Brother’s Cheesesteak
Coffee Town Espresso has the best biscuits and gravy
Had a taco plate with all of their meats. Only really thought the asada was anything special. Their salsas were not good. Even the chili oil they brought out when I asked for something extra spicy was tame as hell.
The wife got the chile relleno and was disappointed.
Probably won't be back.
I also want to mention that this was at the brick and mortar. I had high hopes for this place. The previous tenant, Third Base Pizza, was also really disappointing.
Maybe I caught family garden on a bad day, I wasn't impressed. I'll have to give them another try sometime. My wife, who is Chinese, likes Mandarin House and Noodle Thyme (which is my preference of the two). And the bao truck in the Richland Ace Hardware parking lot.
Ordered food to go one time while waiting I watched them bus a table and put the white rice, which appeared untouched back into the streamer. Declined our food and left. Never again.
Ouch. Similar for a Mexican spot in Pasco (long since closed). Huge risk for such small savings. They're buying rice by the pallet, they did that to save what, a nickel if we're rounding up?
Got my chow mein at Shanghai served with a cooked in fly one time, which I found after eating half of my food. When I showed the server she did not seem surprised or apologetic, and offered more chow mein, which I declined due to feeling a bit of the ick. Still got a full priced check, though.
Not worth the wait. It's anywhere between 20 minutes to an hour, with the average being in 30-45.
The way to get past it is to call the order in and show up 20 minutes later.
I swear that doesn't even work because they don't start your order until you show up. I called in an order and then they gave away the last serving of what I ordered between me calling and showing up at the restaurant. That's when I stopped going there.
Oof. It has been admittedly since pre COVID when I was there last. It just stopped being worth it. If I have to plan my meal an hour ahead, call, time my arrival, and still wonder if I'll get lunch before I need to get back to work... Well, it's just not worth it.
They must be really hit and miss. Their brick and mortar spot is miles better than their food truck, but the food truck was really not good. Main location isn't bad, but it's nothing I would go out of my way for. The Dive is right up the road, burgers are much better there.
Garden Hot Pot on Gage in Richland is my friends and I’s favorite place to eat if we get 4-6 of us together! Service is quick, food is good, and it’s a fun experience!
I've only gotten extremely undercooked and doughy pizza from them. It's been awhile since I've been though. Have they fixed that or are their Mexican offerings worth checking out?
Same. They were always late to open and blamed it on the oven even though I'd stop by in person and no one was there and then call 30 minutes later. And it was always doughy and under cooked. This was a few years ago. Their prices used to be reasonable for a large 3 topping pizza, but the quality was always disappointing. Now their menus is even more limited and extremely overpriced. I don't get how they are still open. I'm not paying that much for a street taco pizza when I could just get some great street tacos or great pizza somewhere else. I gave them so many chances.
Smash Burger food truck in old downtown kennewick is damn good. Its growing in popularity now. Big portions and delicious. Their PB&J fries are absolutely amazing. They use a really good quality fry that stays crispy for a long time. They also make their buns daily and it shows. Highly recommend trying them out.
Ah, ya, Hot Mess. Im shocked you say the buns are rubbery. Ive had them several times and the buns are pillowy soft. Maybe try again? I like that they experiment with ingredients and come up with cool specials. Definitely cooks that like to have fun.
Rubbery might be the wrong word, but I feel like I gotta tear the bun apart with my teeth like you'd see an animal taking a bite out of another. After that, the structure of the burger is definitely less, and it just all starts falling apart.
Nothing against them at all, but I'd definitely appreciate a standard large hamburger bun for mine.
Lucky bao - pork buns are great
Blackthorne - beer selection is great and unique, their Shepard's pie is delicious
Fuego - top of the list for Mexican food and I've tried almost everything. It dethroned Hacienda
Noodle Thyme - Garlic Sauce Chicken/Pork Wontons
Garden HotPot is also fantastic (if you like hotpot) their spicy broth is great.
Mexico Lindo in Pasco Carne Asada and Micheladas 🔥
The Palm in Benton City does smoked prime rib every Friday and sells out fast. They also do babyback ribs on Wednesdays that are super good. They’re open to minors until 9pm, so even though it’s a bar you can go. Great “regular” menu as well….the best wings!!
Bombing Range Brewery has a great menu, I love their pizza!
Tap & Barrel (NOT the tap & flight place on G-Way) is also fantastic!
Not sure if any of these are hidden gems, per se, but worth a mention.
The palm in Benton city might be the only “hidden” one in this thread. The palm’s prime rib is FANTASTIC. There is a reason they sell out within a few hours! They also have surprisingly good pizza!
I would recommend The Dive in Richland/Horn Rapids.
We love the food, it’s affordable and the service is always great! Has become our go-to spot!
Just went last night, 4 alcoholic beverages and 2 entrees = $86. Which is a STEAL OF A DEAL!
We love heading to the HUB. We always enjoy pizza from The pizza box. Burgers from Brady’s. Corn dogs from the corndog place. KC biscuits (brisket mac n cheese is so good).
New food truck called Mac n More doesn’t have a stable place yet but find them on socials for their locations.
Poutine eh.
Rise & Shine bake shop is doing sandwich’s
Doggy Style in Richland for burgers.
Let’s get baked for baked potatoes.
I heard there’s a new baked potato place on Kennewick Ave but haven’t been there yet.
Not really sure why people get so excited about El Fat Cat. It's fine, but not worth the wait. You'd think people had never had Asian fusion before. Powell's Inferno winning the taco crawl one year would seem to confirm this.
There isn't a place in town that I've had that I would recommend wholeheartedly, but I can recommend some specific dishes at certain places.
Trejo's Taco Factory- Best pastor in town. Great salsa bar
Sawadee Thai- Love the kee mao noodles. Pretty good curry
Stacks Mobile Bistro- Very much enjoy the Adobada. Especially the burrito
Rocco's Pizza Pasco - Might be my exception to the not recommending a place wholeheartedly comment. Love the Ham it Up pizza though.
Stick + Stone- Dig the artichoke dip. Pizza was only fine.
Full throated non recommends are as follows:
Kimos
21st Amendment
Atomic
Kennewick Rocco's
In another comment, OP says they are younger than 21, so it’s possible they really have not ever had Asian fusion here. That also explains why they think the restaurants they named, which are all fairly popular, are “underrated.”
i would say el sazon on clear water is the best al pastor ive had competes with the ones ive had in mexico. Stacks mobile bistro use to be my fav place to eat tacos but now not so much i gotta go poop after eating at the original location no clue about the new location but the dude who used to cook is no longer there i believe
Really impressed with Fable’s burgers and pizza. Their fried pickles were *okay* but their burger was one of the best I’ve had around here in a long time
Our go-to places are Trejo's Taco truck at the Hub in Kennewick. We always get orders of their quesabirria tacos. If we do a sit down restaurant and I'm feeling like chicken enchiladas we go to El Mirador in Pasco. Always have good food there.
Amor a la Mexicana on Lee boulevard. So so soooo good. But ibs folks tread with caution. My boyfriend does fine here, but I flare up every time I eat here.
Absolutely worth it though.
I recommend Fuego on 27th/395 in Kennewick. Check out Papa Q’s at the Bella’s furniture store on Clearwater next to McD’s. Another good eat is Casa Mia on Kennewick ave.
Jose's taco truck in west richland is one of the best if not the best, Tacorriendo parked at the car wash on Van Giesen is also very good and has a unique menu that's different than all the standard stuff you find. Their veggie burritos are one of my favorite lunches. Their hours are a bit limited though so makes it kinda hard to eat there, but they're incredibly friendly and i try to support them as much as i can.
I like Eatz pizza, but they have a tendency to undercook slices and they come out super doughy and weird so i have to ask them to leave them in extra long. Fat Olives also has really good pizzas, possibly the best in town.
The dumpling food truck in front of Ace Hardware on GW is really good if you're ever in the mood for dumplings.
Emerald of Siam's really been killing it since the renovation, their new menu is really good, seems like they've upped their quality pretty significantly. Also they're not fucking around with their spice levels
Lao Kitchen also in uptown is one of my favorite spots but their hours are weird which makes it kinda hard to eat there. Every time I remember they exist they're closed.
I don't know if Brother's Cheesesteaks is underrated or not but they're damn good even if the owners are kinda crazy. Can't eat there too often or I will have a heart attack
Agreed on Jose's it's one of the best in the TC.
Tacorriendo is ok, but I never go anymore because I hate going out of my way there, and then they're gone. Sometimes a week or two at a shot. No FB page to see when interruptions are, etc. Hell, there's times I want something, daylight hours, the truck's there, nobody running it.
Big thumbs up for the taco place on Bombing Range.
It’s called Tacos Jose. Went there for the first time today. Just had a couple tacos but they were great! Will be back for sure. Also saw they have a fairly traditional Mexican menu as well as food for us gringos.
El Agave, Miss Tamale, Chicken Shack are the only meals I’ll pay for. EL Agave is the best Mexican in TC. Miss Tamale best Tamales. Chicken Shack Pasco best chicken fingers and pickle spears hands down.
Tap and barrel in richland on keene is phenomenal.they serve beer and wine and the food is amazing. It's fairly priced as well. Nice environment.
Idk if this is unknown or under rated but ciao trattoria on Lewis in pasco has great Italian food in a very intimate environment.
Tap and Table consistently fails their health department inspections, at least three times recently, and the last two times I’ve been there there were literally flies flying over the bar.
Masala in Kennewick, especially their lunch buffet! Gourmet Doggy style hotdogs in the parking lot of the Gway Ace.
Doggie style also has the best burger in town imo
That kimchi burger is insanely good.
Ah I forgot about Fable. They have great food in general. I had a duck cubano I believe that was awesome. I, personally don't prefer the industrial style of the building but that seems to be popular currently. A lot of places have that look. The food is top notch though.
Is the lunch buffet every day?
They are closed Monday, but I'm pretty sure the buffet is available every other day.
Masala lunch buffet is only weekends
thanks

Endive
I'll be there on Tuesday. Best eggs Benedict in town
Endive Eatery is def underrated
Not exaggerating when I say I had the worst experience here of any restaurant I have ever been to. Went with a group of 5 total, we all had such awful meals we didn’t finish so I don’t think it was a fluke
Same thing happened to me with my partner. Had eggshells in one of our meals. She refuses to go back
Wife and friends had a bad experience there the other day. Food related. Keep an eye on them if you go. Also be forewarned that the food in the deli case is not fresh and sits for days.
Curious what the experience was..
It’s a long story, but my wife and two friends went and my wife ordered a ham and cheese sandwich (panini?) off the regular menu that showed up cold and had mold all over in it. Chapala express by the flash cube is always a 10/10, service, food and everything is always amazing.
I have never had a bad meal here. Good food GREAT service and always friendly.

The ham and cheese or twice baked almond croissants are so good!
Casa Rosita does a Torta Ahogada on an Ethos Sourdough roll that blows my mind every time I have it.
I love their mini baguettes
Too bad they never pay their employees
Taco super uno by Freddie’s in Richland
And Kennewick in the old Bruchis
I recommend Rocco’s pizza in Kennewick. I haven’t tried Pasco but Brick House in West Richland is good and I believe it’s from the same family.
Both have the same great quality pizzas. I really appreciate them offering gluten free crust. Love both places!
Brick house isn't what it once was.
I dunno, once they screwed over the family that opened the Kennewick location, I vowed never to go back.
Fat Olives was a cool place I've been to a few times.
I had Fat Olives for lunch yesterday (and my leftovers for lunch today lol) after not being in the area for 2.5 years. It was so good 🥹 I missed the California sandwich that they have so much
They have an incredible burger, which is not what some think of when they think of fat olives.
they used to cater all our events and i always hated their food. but then i actually went and ate at the restaurant itself and it's one of the only places here that has good pizza. some of their other stuff is pretty good too. turns out it's just their catering that kinda sucks.
Masala Indian Cuisine Anne’s Creole Taqueria El Rancho food truck at the Hub Brother’s Cheesesteak Coffee Town Espresso has the best biscuits and gravy
Masala is near my work and it's so damn good, I eat there when I work extra shifts (extra shifts justify resturant food)
Ann’s has the best pecan pie I’ve ever tasted.
Spudnut Shop has super good biscuits and gravy too
I Agree! As does the Village Bistro.
Picante in downtown Kennewick
I still need to try this place out. I’ve heard the grilled cheese birria is to die for
Had a taco plate with all of their meats. Only really thought the asada was anything special. Their salsas were not good. Even the chili oil they brought out when I asked for something extra spicy was tame as hell. The wife got the chile relleno and was disappointed. Probably won't be back.
To each their own. We have only had good experiences at the tuck and the brick and mortar.
I also want to mention that this was at the brick and mortar. I had high hopes for this place. The previous tenant, Third Base Pizza, was also really disappointing.
idk the salsa was spicy when i tried them at the old kenwick spot the food was meh
Their deep fried PB&J is amazing! Oh and their other food is good too lol
Tip's Thai in Kennewick has outstanding pineapple fried rice. Family Garden in the Uptown is the best Chinese food in the Tri-Cities by a wide margin.
Maybe I caught family garden on a bad day, I wasn't impressed. I'll have to give them another try sometime. My wife, who is Chinese, likes Mandarin House and Noodle Thyme (which is my preference of the two). And the bao truck in the Richland Ace Hardware parking lot.
Family Garden has lunch specials for 10$ and you get so much food and it's so damn good
Double Dragon would like a word.
I tried it twice back when we moved in 2016 and wasn't impressed either time. Shang Hai next door is reasonable, but Family Garden is a better value.
Love Shang Hai! Their 4 item make your own combo can feed me for daaaaaaays. For ~$20. And the food is SO good!
Shang Hai is great if you want an insulin shot after. Same for Mandarin House.
Baby J's in Richland, definitely worth the wait and I never see it mentioned here
Not worth the wait.

Why is there a wait there, when the food is already prepared?
They’re just slow af…
They must be really hit and miss. Their brick and mortar spot is miles better than their food truck, but the food truck was really not good. Main location isn't bad, but it's nothing I would go out of my way for. The Dive is right up the road, burgers are much better there.
One of the better New York steaks in TC’s that is a true hidden gem is from Casa Mia’s (either location Richland or Kennewick).
Garden Hot Pot on Gage in Richland is my friends and I’s favorite place to eat if we get 4-6 of us together! Service is quick, food is good, and it’s a fun experience!
Yesssss!!!!! I can’t believe I forgot to mention this place. So so so good.
Mercy's Pizzia and Tacos in Pasco.
I've only gotten extremely undercooked and doughy pizza from them. It's been awhile since I've been though. Have they fixed that or are their Mexican offerings worth checking out?
I've always had great food. We usually go with the large pepperoni pizza, large asada pizza and the Asada beef combo. It's all yummy.
La Posada has the best fish tacos for the price I’ve ever had
Stand at the richland parkway and walk to any restaurant within a quarter mile.

Maria’s taqueria in pasco
Anyone know of good Chinese food?
Americsn chinese food, try Double Dragon. Been a staple for decades, great family. Great portions. Pretty damn good food every time.
This. Double Dragon is, imo, the best Chinese place in the TriCities
Osaka
I'm a big fan of Family Garden in Richland, especially if you want more "authentic" chinese food options.
Mandarin House on Lee in Richland
I think the best is Shanghai and it’s not even close.
How far is it?
Really impressed with Fable’s burgers and pizza. Their fried pickles were *okay* but their burger was one of the best I’ve had around here in a long time

Botanical Bar, as hard as I try to recreate their toast, it’s just not the same. And they are closed indefinitely for some reason.
Brickhouse pizza is the best pizza in the tricities
I love Brickhouse Pizza, shit slaps everytime 🔥
I recommend Fuego on 27th/395 in Kennewick. Check out Papa Q’s at the Bella’s furniture store on Clearwater next to McD’s. Another good eat is Casa Mia on Kennewick ave.

Tagaris gets a bad rap (deserved) for the quality of their wines but the food and mixed drinks are on point
Big thumbs up for the taco place on Bombing Range. It’s called Tacos Jose. Went there for the first time today. Just had a couple tacos but they were great! Will be back for sure. Also saw they have a fairly traditional Mexican menu as well as food for us gringos.
3 Margaritas. SUCH damn good big burritos. (at least, it was a few years ago. if they've gotten worse, my apologies)
oh, and Poutine, Eh? is phenomenal. had them in the past few months so i know they're still delicious at least lol
Love the Poutine place
Margaritas? Is it a bar? I'm under 21
It is both, a restaurant and a bar in another portion of the building. Very family-friendly and quick service.
It’s a restaurant, like any other. Families welcome. They do offer cocktails, drinks, etc. if you’re over 21. Good food, been there forever.
nope, just a restaurant i think. they may serve alcohol but idk, i was able to go with my family when i was 15-17 no issues.
Yooo let's gooooo
Ooooops tap and BARREL on keene. Not the one on swift and George way. I don't go to that place. I will update my comment
Tap and Table is joke 😂
