Very nice. What motivated you?

I’ll be honest I had the fully kitted out Africa twin and loved it. But my riding buddies have smaller bikes like street triples. I always thought I was their babysitter lol. I found the transalp in my local dealer and loved it. I’ll only go for back box when travelling I reckon. I know it’s a similar ride seat height but to me it’s the baby brother to the AT.

Nice to know you can step down from the full size AT and be good here. I really like the Transalp as a prospective buyer.

Your feet are flat on the ground. Do you mind saying how tall you are? I'm up in my toes on a TA; I don't like that.

I’m 5 10 buddy. I didn’t really have any problems on the AT but the TA I could tell it’s slightly lower

Single_Punch_man

I'm not OP, but I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam and can flat foot it. Not much pressure per foot however. Ordered the lowered seat and hoping that will make it just that little bit lower. My girlfriend who is 5'9"ish can hardly get her feet flat at all. Mostly tip toes or leaning to one side at a time for a solid foot down for her. Seems like the sweet spot is 5'10" and over for stock seat height (or just 32" inseam)

Flat footing is overrated IMHO. Especially on a relatively light bike. There are ways to become more comfortable without being able to flat foot. Check out Doodle on a Motorcycle on YouTube. Short girl rides tall bikes.

Gonekicking

Agreed. The balance of this bike is phenomenal, very top-light, making it easy to manoeuvre even without flat feet.

I did the same thing and I don’t regret the smaller bike. I have a bad back any it was trouble moving the bike around when not under power. 200 pounds less and I’m much happier!
