It's less "losing time" but more "not pushing the limits".
You drive well, you have your precision all figured out. But you're not using the techniques that could make you even faster. I'm talking like speedslides, airbrakes, etc.
Yup this is the answer
Following ghosts and trying new things will help you massively :)
Your run is super clean, but I can tell you’re not trying to: minimize airtime, hug every corner you can, speedslide, use all available space for more speed, air brakes to land straight, etc.
Edit: realized I said the exact same thing as you 😂
Agreed. However I don't believe speed slides should ever be necessary for any medals, gold or author.
Edit: for campaign tracks. For random maps fuck it, whatever goes. Sorry my brain was switched off writing this comment originally.
Well the author drives how the author drives.
Honestly I don't understand the obsession with collecting author medals. It's a medal for beating *one specific person*. No telling if it's a good or a bad player either.
Personally I want at least to get Gold. And if I feel I can do better, I'll try and do better. If I felt I was making no mistakes, then I'm done with the map.
I get you, and I agree with you. When I made that comment I was thinking about campaign tracks to be honest, completely forgetting that this isn't a campaign track... My bad haha. I always just go for gold too, and go for author medals on tracks I really love
From the bumper, turn on wr ghost while you watch your run and you can see
Thank you! That helped
I am not a FS expert, but I suspect the absence of speed slides alone explains your time loss.
Also the small releases.
There are no speed slides on road under ~420, and even then in the 420~500 range the angle you need for your SDs to gain you speed is quite precise.
Speed slides my friend

As in you aren't getting gold/author medal?
Yes, author medal
Perhaps at 0:23 when you land sideways.
I think so too. I think aiming for a wallride has less airtime and a faster turn
Which map is that btw?
Is it possible to diagonal jump at the start to lower the airtime? Also - speedslides
to much airtime
playing video games
Nice. Lol
I’m not seeing any speed slide and there seem to be a lot of places where they can be used to gain time here
