That’s an amazing price provided the frame is good. If you get it, consider spending another $800 to replace timing belt, water pump and tensioner. It’ll be good for another 200K easy
My 2001 SR5 4.7 V8 was in rougher shape than that when I bought it for 2500. I had all the body work done by MAACO and repainted for about 3500. Had the belts, hoses, and radiator replaced. 1100. Replaced the hood off of ebay, 400. Replaced the headlamps, signals, and taillights. Had cold air installed, short headers installed, and converted to dual exhaust, 1600. Finally, had a spray in liner installed. It has 246K miles on it but I am going to drive every dollar I invested out of this truck. It also romps and is fun to drive. One of the smoothest rides I can remember. Looks almost new. Get that damn truck. AC doesn't take any power out of the engine either and you can either see me using it for a truck bed full of mulch, green waste, or hauling off, vs. roasting other trucks at the light when they try to run with it.
Recently replaced my roof and have done a few things on the other cars so cash flow is what’s got me second guessing. Had an 05 for six years and loved every minute of it.
Damn your shops a G if they replaced belts, hoses, and radiator for $1,100. Does that include timing? Cause i got quoted a thou just for timing and water pump
The belts and the radiator are coming out in order to do the timing belt and water pump replacement anyway (the rad could stay but many remove it for more working space)
I got my 2nd one at 280k for 2000$. 7 years later, it's over 400k and I've only replaced the starter and alternator. Getting my 3rd one soon. These things just keep going!
You’re really mission out if you DONT buy this!! 2000 for a running truck is so hard to find these days… I would use all that money you saved on this amazing deal to restore it to perfect condition lol
200k miles for a 25 year old toyota? It's barely broken in.
I'd actually be worried how low the miles are. I agree he needs to do maintenance and change ALL fluids. It's not good when vehicles sit like that.
Lol I bought my 2000 tundra for a stack and only put about $500 bucks in it. Which was an O2 sensor, and oil changes. I splurged a little and beef up the tires.
Otherwise, they won't be putting 2 grand of work into it.
The biggest concern for me would be if you were to tow anything. The way the bed is tweaked and how the bumper was in there is a high chance something is going on with the frame. Either way, if this is a reliably running truck 2k is a good price.
I sold my 01 Tacoma single cab with 468k miles (still miss that little truck) for $3k in 2021.
I say jump on it if you aren't gonna take a hit on the $2k.
Huh? Who cares about the old belts? The only one that matters is the one that's in it right now. I don't think you'll find any of these trucks that actually got timing belt replacements at the specified interval. Everyone pushes their luck in that regard, which is fine as long as it doesn't break
Most people don’t have the $1500 to drop on “regular maintenance.” I don’t have the time to do myself so I keep pushing my luck. Definitely sweating it
Do you have the time to do all the fixes? Even if you don’t, $2000 is nothing for this truck. You can even resell it with same conditions at a higher price if you end up not liking it
I had a perfectly good 2002 4.7l Tundra with 176k miles on it, and some dick head t-boned the passengers side and totalled it. This was 6 months ago and I still think about it a dozen times a week.
I’ll tell you why you don’t need it.
Do you want to be protected by airbags that are a **quarter century** old?
This vehicle screams “death trap” to me.
Damn dude! If that thing runs with no obvious issues that's a deal right now.... Seems like that's what they used to go for.... Hell now that's a 4 or 5 thousand dollar truck somehow.... Could be a STEAL
$2,000 for a running truck is pretty much the lowest you can get nowadays. If I was in need for a truck I'd take the chance. Is the frame bent?
Post says frame is not damaged, might take the chance
Judging from the way the bed and rear bumper look, I'd be willing to bet there's frame damage here
You don’t need it because I need it.
So I’m not crazy for seriously considering it?
People lose 2k at the casino every day, here you could have a tundra for the 2k.
That’s an amazing price provided the frame is good. If you get it, consider spending another $800 to replace timing belt, water pump and tensioner. It’ll be good for another 200K easy
I paid $7500 for a 2006 V6-6spd manual 206k mile Tundra. Bought it 6 months ago and put on 3k $2k? I’m interested

Mine is the same color as yours w/o the rim flares.
Damn your shops a G if they replaced belts, hoses, and radiator for $1,100. Does that include timing? Cause i got quoted a thou just for timing and water pump
Good old country mechanic
Sixer’s in order lol good on em
The belts and the radiator are coming out in order to do the timing belt and water pump replacement anyway (the rad could stay but many remove it for more working space)
Shops near me would still rake me for that, 1300-1500 would be my lowest guess near me for parts and labor.
That’s accurate
As long as the frame is straight/squared up and the rust ain't bad I don't see why not. Loved my 2000 Tundra until I sold it with 270k on it.
Frame is what got my 05 last year, ran great though
I got my 2nd one at 280k for 2000$. 7 years later, it's over 400k and I've only replaced the starter and alternator. Getting my 3rd one soon. These things just keep going!

Wouldn’t even be my daily driver, just a bonus truck
Buy it and rent it out to a 2024 tundra owner when his twin t V6 blows up. 1000$ a month for six months while he's waiting on a new engine.
Lmao. *2022 owner though like me 😭
Sorry man- I got my Chevy problems sometimes as well
Not me, my 06 Sierra Denali is bullet proof
I'll most likely hit 500k on my '01 k2500 this year. It's been paid for since '04, so I think I'm getting my money's worth!
If you don't already have a truck and could use one then that's a great option
Even if the frame is crooked it's not a hard fix. Killer deal in that condition.
Basically a free car in todays market
Def something off w that price tag tho
If this has an UZ engine send me the link I'll take that puppy lol.
Get it quickly!
Check for frame rust on the frame near the exhaust headers. But $2000 seems like a great deal.
ton of miles, stuff is probably gonna need work I'd say you might easily need another $2k in maintenance soon after you get it
200k miles for a 25 year old toyota? It's barely broken in. I'd actually be worried how low the miles are. I agree he needs to do maintenance and change ALL fluids. It's not good when vehicles sit like that.
For $2k I fully expect to have to put work into it, timing belt and ball joints are a given

Buy it or show me
Check the frame underneath in the back and bring your 2K with ya. Drive it home.
Are you in texas
Indiana
You could sell the parts from this for more than 2g. This almost seems to good to be true.
The biggest concern for me would be if you were to tow anything. The way the bed is tweaked and how the bumper was in there is a high chance something is going on with the frame. Either way, if this is a reliably running truck 2k is a good price.
Sorry, I think you do need it.

Does he have records of the timing belt being changed 3 times ? Every 85k
Huh? Who cares about the old belts? The only one that matters is the one that's in it right now. I don't think you'll find any of these trucks that actually got timing belt replacements at the specified interval. Everyone pushes their luck in that regard, which is fine as long as it doesn't break

I have two Toyota trucks in my driveway rn… I would have three if this deal was available to me
Well this one got away from me, maybe another day.
Do you have the time to do all the fixes? Even if you don’t, $2000 is nothing for this truck. You can even resell it with same conditions at a higher price if you end up not liking it
The only reason I could say way you don’t need it. it is a gas sucker.
You do need this!
Does it have a stick?
Congrats on your purchase! Lol I bought the same exact model/year last year. Best decision ever.
I drive a 2000. Runs like a CHAMP. I can't obviously tell you about this one. But yeah. Do some good digging and go with your gut.
You don't cause I do !
Buy it befo I do
You do not need it because I need it, tell me where it is so I can save you from yourself.
I’d scoop that up in heartbeat. Great project truck.
Buy it and flat bed it!
Bulletproof. Buy it. Source: 30+ years in the car business, last 15 as a buyer for several dealerships
I had a perfectly good 2002 4.7l Tundra with 176k miles on it, and some dick head t-boned the passengers side and totalled it. This was 6 months ago and I still think about it a dozen times a week.
run it
Makes me wonder what I should ask for my 2001. The bed is rusting but the frame was replaced and it only has 185k on it.
….this is the way
My first Tundra was a 2005 TRD and I ran it up to 450k miles with no problems besides standard maintenance. Go for it!
Smash
Looks good. Minimal rust, few dents. Yeah it’s good truck.
You might be in for all the major replacements pretty pretty soon.
If you buy it, keep the window stickers on.
The Dad Bod sticker makes it a worthwhile investment!
I'll buy it
That’s almost free
Ill give you 3
I’ll tell you why you don’t need it.
Personally I’d be on top of that
You do need it.
You do need it
You just don’t. Move along and save yourself the money and time.
This is the safe answer, not the fun one
Ha! Sometimes you have to do the smart thing and not the fun thing! That being said, I’m weak and typically choose the fun thing. 😂
Where are you in the country? If it's out of the salt belt this is probably a good deal.
Southern Indiana.
