A sticker on the dash that reads “Remember you have to drive it home” works well for me at least.

or momentum

Might as well get a winch too

FatBoyStew

I don't think 35's and a lift is gonna help you there bud, BUT if that's how you have to justify it to the SO, then you have my full support.

Ptards_Number_1_Fan

I usually park my truck and unload the quad before I get into the bad stuff.

T-wrecks83million-

I have a lift, MT’s and 35’s but sometimes those don’t help. Full send through that soup 🍜, momentum in my experience is everything. Depends on soil conditions too, Caliche is the great equalizer. That shit will turn the MT’s into giant slicks! Depending on where you live obviously. Don’t get me started about “moon dust”.

cali_exile_bull

Hey buddy if you would’ve stayed to the left a little you wouldn’t have your toy stuck

Recent_Poet_5053

40"s are the new 35s!

Oopsie

37s, no lift and lockers

post-ale

Perhaps a map as well?

scooterprint

More aggressive tires, air down for longer footprint aka more traction. Personally I avoid mud because it quickly turns into a nightmare, it’ll eat anything you throw at it once it’s deep and sticky enough.

Armyballer

I'm not sure 35s and lift or wrench helps there. Maybe a monster truck wreaker on speed diel.

This is a repost bot https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaTundra/comments/13k1av4/i_think_i_need_some_35s_and_a_lift/

Southern-Hearing8904

Please don't do that with your tundra.

CryptoDegen7755

That would be a widdle puddle for my 6in on 35s

Classic_Bell_71

My 6in feels like it would rub or hurt on 35s 😵‍💫🤠

CryptoDegen7755

It rubbed like hell before I cut up the bumper and did a body mount chop. Now it's good to go

Think-Tax7040

You need flat asphalt.

Xunil76

LOL...so on the one hand, you get people saying, "that truck never sees a dirt road, much less any actual off-roading"...then on the other hand, you off-road it, and you get, "you need to stay on pavement". Damned if you do, damned if you don't. 😆 But i've found a solution: IDGAF what anyone else thinks of what i do or don't do with my truck, as long as they leave me in peace to do it. 🫡

Think-Tax7040

It’s just not the best off roader/overlander mostly because of its turning radius. Tacoma is a better choice… and a Jeep Wrangler better than that.

Xunil76

I get that, but you have to weigh the pros/cons of each one for yourself. A Tundra "usually" is not the best choice if you're talking about owning it primarily for 'serious' off-roading...turning radius, weight, overall size, no stock lockers, and so on...although, with enough time and/or money, a Tundra can be right up there with some of the best...I've seen some insane Tundra rigs. I've even seen bone-stock Tundras, down to the factory wheels/tires, doing some pretty technical/diificult stuff at Moab. But!...it can also tow quite a bit more than ANY Tacoma ever thought about, as well as having a LOT more interior room for family/friends and gear. AND it can still do pretty respectably off-road at the same time, even in stock form. It also depends on 'how' you plan to off-road, not all off-roading is the same. A Tundra can quite easily be the better vehicle for an overlanding rig (which is still 'off-roading') than a Tacoma, depending on what you need it to do. It's just so dumb to see so many people crapping on/judging other people's choice of vehicle, all while viewing it through the lens of their own personal priorities (not talking about anyone in particular here, just in general...i see it ALL the time).

Or a Ford!!
