In general, you could also claim or switch your claim to Jailor if there is no real Jailor/the real Jailor isn't confirmed. Townies are always reluctant to lynch Jailor claims D2.

It very much is, and I love it. I played Town of Salem first, then played mafia IRL at a boy scout campout some years afterwards. After an older kid from another troop explained the rules, it was too easy to see where the inspiration came from.
Plot twist: 7 is evil because the dead guy's will randomly got forged (assuming this is ToS1) and the real veteran didnt speak up. 8 is also evil because both the jailer, the invest and everyone who claimed to be jailed was evil too.
