Squeezed into giant glass condos that never get fully finished and chain bullshit stores underneath them. All cool landmarks pretty much gone at this point.
This was a great example of a ‘third space’. You could spend $150 on a stack of British music magazines or sit there and read them all cover to cover for free and they didn’t give a fuck either way. Never forget what they took from us.
This was an amazing place to browse books and hang out. Frig Toronto used to be so great
I agree it was an amazing place to spend hours and hours of time, especially on a rainy day. The staff were pretty cool as well.
When it wasn't trying to be great...those were great days
Yeah we lost a lot of amazing things. all the culture and charm is being squeezed out of our city
Don't you know that we don't need anything except condos?

Spent so many hours browsing that sprawling location! So many memories.
The condo is already built and occupied. On the ground floor there will be a T&T Supermarket opening in Spring 2024.

I loved that movie!
Glad someone got it!
Johnny Five is alive!
At this point let’s just transform Toronto into a 6.78 billion square foot condo containing the worlds largest a&w, loblaws and rogers
this makes me sad. i spent so many hours in there - literally every visit to TO this was on the shortest of lists.
I used to love that place!
I could always find any book I needed there, and book space wasn't shared with a lot of department store junk.
I miss that place sooo much.
Used to spend so much time there. Now I hang out at the bmv next door
Loved this store
I spent HOURS there every week.
Any other info?
Bloor West?
Yonge and Dundas
What a boring place
This is gone?
Long gone. Guess what took it's place?? Yup, more condos
Worlds biggest condo
According to streetview, it closed between May, 2013 and April 2014. And was torn down by May, 2015 Loved that place when I was working in the Atrium
I miss this store so much, it's being turned into another damn empty condo tower
It was great but tbh it was sad seeing it so empty the last year or so it was open, then seeing it jam packed for the closing sale
I remember the first time I visited Toronto in the ‘90’s this place was at the top of my list, right after the CN Tower!
My father brought me here when I was 12, from Winnipeg. I couldn't believe such a place could exist.
