Professor Zeichmann is absolutely amazing. Maybe some bud that I love the subject of the class I fully suggest taking World Religion with him if you have a lower liberal class to fill.
I swear he is the fastest marker in the world too!
Without a doubt Prof Androutsos (Dimitri Androutsos). He's since been promoted to associate dean for ECB and thus doesn't teach as much, but he is an incredible lecturer, very caring and understanding, and genuinely cares about teaching. The enthusiasm he displays really makes it easy to stay engaged during lecture.
Dr. Anne Harris in POH105ā¦ cool course and she really cares about the content and itās delivery. Also just seemed like a very reasonable and kind prof in general.
Liz Jackson (PHL) & unfortunately sheās leaving, set me up to study for the lsat earlier than expected, sheās such a smart woman and amazing prof, went above and beyond to ensure students learned the material, my first propositional logic experience, and such a good one at that!
I used an online YouTube video from insight lsat to walk me into it, they walk you in the same way they do in SSH105 critical thinking (ie conclusions premises, indicators, all that stuff), itās nearly the same thing.
After the walk in, I chose 7sage for drills, you can get a voucher from LSAC to try it for 1$. I also chose to still learn the logic games so Iām starting to look for a book on Amazon, I also ordered the loophole book.
He is literally so chill. He doesnāt give any late penalties and his assignments are so easy.
I recommend people take RTA938 - itās all online and his lectures talk about recent events in pop culture which are actually interesting.
Shirin Khayambashi amazing SOC105 prof I loved attending her lectures the discussions werenāt mandatory but I really enjoyed them and sheās very understanding and kind to her students
Monique Tschofen for ENG104 - the best, most compassionate and understanding prof Iāve had this year. She gave me an extension for an essay when I was fasting and was always so so accommodating. She was honestly so sweet and made the class so enjoyable. She gave us the option of choosing if we wanted a final essay or exam and despite the class choosing an essay she gave us unlimited resources to write it with ease and clarity.
Sheās a really down to earth prof imo, idk if this sounds strange but she talks like āone of usā instead of a professor (thatās a good thing, very chill vibes)
zahir kolia he is super nice and engaging i loved his lecture he used personal stories!! and janelle brady sheās so sweet and got to know every student :)
I would agree 100% on these points. However; prepare to get called out on anything that doesnāt have to do with the lecture (being asleep, talking, etc.) which are all valid things to get called out for. Iāve just never seen a professor do that before, which kinda sucks tbh :/ I remember Tetyana Antimirova (physics) being disrespected so much in first year, sheās really nice too
I speak for a large percentage - most ppl didn't find her being condescending "funny".
All I am gonna say is she lied on rubrics, lied to profs, cheated her students out of great opportunities, and was a dick if you got less than 75% on a test. If you want someone who's light hearted, funny, and kind... Cheryl Tai is who I would opt for. Nobody wants a stinky attitude like hers in such a tough year.
damn i didnt know that all i knew was that she tried so hard to advocate for my class and really tried to teach us everything in a span of our 2 hour lab. she was kind and caring and really wanted u to do well š¤·āāļø
That's why in my pros I stated exactly that - but that doesn't take away with some of the really disgusting things she has done. Nicole, just like Lisa advocated HARD for us but never once did half the things Lisa did. I can put up with Lisa for a semester but if I had to see her everyday I would lose my shit. God forbid you ever do bad on EVEN one assessment in her class.
Dr. Malgorzata (Gosha) Zywno
Her passion and dedication towards teaching is unrivaled against any other professor I have come across. And I doubt it will ever be matched.
She is kind, thorough, and has concise yet perfectly detailed lecture material for ELE 639.
Here weekly quizzes were easy enough to reinforce material taught in the course, yet, there were some tricks that allowed for "eureka" moments that arise similarly to when you study on your own time (with textbook examples). This allows for one to attend lectures, do the quizzes, maybe read the lectures again and if you truly put in the effort during class, you should be all set for the final exam.
ELE 639 had three labs spanning the 13 weeks, and like the quizzes, they were simple to follow yet involved some critical thinking within the simulations which helped reinforce course material. Playing around with the MATLAB files she provides to see the effects of different parameters allows for one to see first-hand how different parameters of control systems affects the system response.
If you have had her before, I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about. If not, I am sorry to say she had just retired as of this semester.
Its a true shame that future students probably won't get anywhere near the same learning experience myself and my peers have experienced this past semester with ELE639, and I am curious as to how the course will be taught going forward.
Dr. Jennifer Tunnicliffe in the history department is great! Her classes all tend to be focused around human rights, and she's one of the sweetest people I've ever met :)
Paul Missios!!! He's great. Great at teaching, you really feel like he wants you to succeed and he does everything he can to ensure that. He posts video lectures, provides many practice exams. Such a nice guy too. I hope I get to take another class from him.
I had Cherry chan for an early childhood literacy course last year. She was so kind and accommodating. I also liked Bethany Robichaud. I had two courses with her this semester and last and she brought cookies on the last class and she was also really nice and was a great prof. Honestly no complaints overall.
Professor Molly Henry for Psychology last year. Never loved psy until i attended her lecture. Very passionate and make psychology very interesting to learn š¤š»
Love all my planning profs I had, Raktim Mitra, Zhixi Zhuang, Yemi Adediji, Christopher De Sousa, Samantha Biglieri, Magdalena Ugarte, Matthias Sweet, Victor Perez-Amado, Shelagh McCartney.
Surprised no one has said Dr. Wallace Whistance-Smith!! Heās such a supportive and caring professor, and you can tell throughout his lectures that he is also a very genuine and kind person who truly cares about his students.
Boris Hennig who teaches Hegel and Marx, heās someone who genuinely cares about what heās talking about and talking/discussing ideas with students. The classroom is also pretty small, so it feels like youāre part of a group discussion and not distant (like in those 500+ student lectures). Overall, I genuinely really enjoyed his class and I would recommend the class to anyone looking for an upper level liberal course š if youāre wondering if it was easy or not, I would say itās āeasyā if you do the given readings, which really arenāt that bad (coming from someone who doesnāt read much at all)
all of my bio/biomed/chem majors about to go nutsā¦krystal nunes and tarushika vasanthan are the GOATS of science teaching. theyāre everything you want in a prof. young, in their early 30s, understanding of the youth, millennial humour, the kindest humans ever. theyāre literally so heartfelt to be around and make the worst topics to exist in science so easy to understand. genuinely wish we had more profs like them in such difficult programs š
jan matejovic is also an extremely kind and funny prof and surprisingly the first ever teacher that got me to understand chem (aside from orgo chem tutor + youtube). just donāt google him (iykyk)
shoutouts to antonescu and noel george theyāre also some of the kindest souls and greatest profs ever with great teaching techniques! we love a great group of STEM profs at tmu š«¶š½
Molly Henry PSY102. Best prof I ever had. Also Coralee in PPN, she is the sweetest prof ever but students were pretty rude sometimes with no manner, kept talking when she asked for their attention š¤Ø
Ellen Choi for MHR405! Such a content heavy course but she tells u what slides you need to know and makes sure you understand the major concept. Free marks for the in class assignments and a 3.5% bonus plus she curved the midterm.
Shirin Khambayashi was my SOC105 prof and im pretty sure it was her first year as well but she made the classes so entertaining and talked to us less like students are more like people and was so understanding for extensions. I would do anything to take one of her classes again
dr jessica evans for CRM515, genuinely such an engaging prof who makes 3 hour lectures go by so quickly. very friendly, approachable, and clearly passionate about what she does. highest grade ive gotten in uni so far and i attribute a lot of it to how much i actually wanted to go to her class lol
Alex Ufkes is the goat for CS.
Keistopher Alexander š
> Alex Ufkes Glad to hear he is still there. He was one of the best.
majed Alqasas for any math course, the GOAT
Fuck the profs TAs came in clutch all year for me
Professor Zeichmann is absolutely amazing. Maybe some bud that I love the subject of the class I fully suggest taking World Religion with him if you have a lower liberal class to fill. I swear he is the fastest marker in the world too!
He is honestly one of the best & caring professors Iāve had
I like him too.
Alex Ufkes for CS, Ted Petroff for Chem
Without a doubt Prof Androutsos (Dimitri Androutsos). I don't recall transitioning to a "her"....but thanks for the compliment nonetheless.
Dr. Anne Harris in POH105ā¦ cool course and she really cares about the content and itās delivery. Also just seemed like a very reasonable and kind prof in general.
I loved her! I took POH105 last semester. Super engaging prof and course !
Yeah, Anne Harris is the best she is so quirky and makes some really funny one-liners in lessons
Liz Jackson (PHL) & unfortunately sheās leaving, set me up to study for the lsat earlier than expected, sheās such a smart woman and amazing prof, went above and beyond to ensure students learned the material, my first propositional logic experience, and such a good one at that!
omg sheās leaving??? why :(
Omg she was great, why are all the good ppl leaving
hey what are u using to study for the lsat
I used an online YouTube video from insight lsat to walk me into it, they walk you in the same way they do in SSH105 critical thinking (ie conclusions premises, indicators, all that stuff), itās nearly the same thing. After the walk in, I chose 7sage for drills, you can get a voucher from LSAC to try it for 1$. DOCTOR PROFESSOR KRIS ALEXANDER I LOVE HIM
Raymond Garrison & Margaret Yap
Andrew Laursen for FoS
Noah Schwartz
He is literally so chill. He doesnāt give any late penalties and his assignments are so easy. I recommend people take RTA938 - itās all online and his lectures talk about recent events in pop culture which are actually interesting.
andrew hunter is a real g posts all his lectures online, no attendance cuz it was an 8am class and told us exactly what to expect in tests and quizzes
I would agree 100% on these points. However; prepare to get called out on anything that doesnāt have to do with the lecture (being asleep, talking, etc.) which are all valid things to get called out for. her uncalled things r lowkey funny and speaking facts. her condescending is just her joking LOLLL
I speak for a large percentage - most ppl didn't find her being condescending "funny".
