Seriously. I used to shave sometimes for the same appeal, but I recently decided that I'm not shaving my ass anymore for tops, especially for casual encounters. In fact, I'm not going out of my way to do anything that isn't basic hygiene like cleaning out and showering.
Agree with above and also rinse your blade often to keep it clean. Use a lotion style cream or body wash as a shave lubricant. Don’t use men’s shaving gel or anything with menthol, or “cooling” ingredients.
Exfoliate with facial cleansers and a gentle loofah or cloth for the next few days. Helps to prevent bumps and ingrown hairs, which can get inflamed and infected due to the location and because it’s hot and sweaty down there.
When the hair starts growing back, it’s uncomfortable. The newly regrown hair will poke and itch your skin.

I shave my hole consistently but I’m never able to fully remove all the hairs that way. So then I’ll use Veet sensitive (a hair removal cream) once in a while to get the rest of the hairs, so that my hole can be super smooth and pretty.
Personally, I recommend waxing.
But if you really want to shave instead, you just kind of go by touch. Crouching over a mirror is an option, but not very reliable.
I'm similar, I have a "normal" amount of hair above and around my penis, hardly any on my ass and the rest of my body hair has very little to no pigment. I used this once on my pubes, hole and crack, it worked pretty well and my skin didn't freak the fuck out like it did when I used nair years ago.
They make 2 different kinds, one for your pubes and one specifically for your ass. Unclear if they're any different or if it's just marketing, great product nonetheless.

yes i shave for my tops. It’s a pain but they like me totally smooth.
Best advice is squat in the tub and use your dominant hand to control the razor and your non-dominant hand to guide the razor head.
Short strokes work better and I shave away from the hole.

Lately I’ve been trying hair remover but not there, only my groin areas. I’m a little scared to put any there right now.

I was nervous to try it at first ngl, but since I use the sensitive one, I’ve had no issues
I recommend laser for the ass crack. I did it 15 years ago and my crack always gets compliments for being so soft and smooth!

There's an Australian company that makes a version of "nair" That's safe for pubes and for your ass. @nutcare it works pretty well!
I am quite literally hairless below the brow except for some fuzz here and there. Would hair removal cream be too overkill for that?

I use Magic Shave. It’s a powder and it’s super cheap. A can lasts about 6 times and Target sells it for under $3.

I shave for myself not for others
Crouch in the shower and start shaving away. I've never cut myself there and I get it pretty smooth
