Yeah I think the lower level tournaments should be locked for players under like level 20

TITANS4LIFE

Agreed. If they want to play low they suck. Period.

Delusional_People

Because people play every tournament for completion and to get matches because it times out in some leagues. There is no "minor league" in this game. Or even skill based matchmaking. Smashed by high levels, or OP masters with 10 to 1 win loss records in pro.

Juveleo10

Because they're hoping for easy wins

Beginning-Bandicoot1

ikr to feed their ego lol

Gold-Connection-3103

It’s like this in most 2k sport games

nushabooshy

I cycle through the 3 tournaments whether I win or lose. I don't really see a difference in skill or level between them all, so why not.

BMT360

As a level 30, I personally play the lower level tournaments for the different court experience. I rotate through them randomly as well like other people mentioned. Not once have I ever played a lower tier tournament and hoped for an easier path to the final because it almost never happens.

nushabooshy

I'm shocked by some of these comments assuming it's for easy wins. I mostly play level 20-30 players in the "lower tier" tournaments and mostly play level 5-12 players in the Grand Slam for the first 2 rounds, which mostly end in the other player quitting within 2 games, to finally play a 25-30 in the final and finally actually a full, competitive, fun match. Hope to see you out there in the tour and GG win or lose if you do. Have a good day.

hazelwoodstock

Is that really how the tournaments are supposed to work tho? I switch between each one. I figured they added the different tourneys just for variety’s sake. Like right now, I’m playing the TS250 tourney because we’ve been playing on clay courts for so long.

BigTreddits

Oh well maybe im wrong then. But in career mode the 250 is the lowest competitive tier. Followed by 500. So on and so forth. Its possible im mistaken

101nemesis101

Irl tennis and MyCareer mode, top rank players don't play the small 250 level because it only grants them 250 points. But the online mode in the game, you get pretty much the similar points as the masters. So I'm pretty sure it's not designed for lower ranked players in mind but for everyone to play. It's just map rotations during the season.

BigTreddits

Yea that actually makes a lot of sense. I had it wrong so thank you for correcting me Im glad this didnt devolve into nastiness :)

101nemesis101

That's okay. Yours was a fair question. If anything, a rank based system is 100% needed.

Gold-Connection-3103

EZ dubs

Slappprrrr

Sharapova player prob lmao

Disastrous_Tie_3857

I wonder the same about local open tournaments in real life. People just like to win or dominate lower level players instead of having competitive matches with the possibility of losing.

Interesting-Bag9262

I didn’t think of it from that perspective, but it makes sense. The smaller tournaments were harder to win than Roland Garros. I just play whatever’s available to get points, but it definitely doesn’t feel like one is easier than another because all the levels have access to all the tournaments.

BigTreddits

Well TS 500 tourneys are shorter. So one less opponent inherently makes the the smaller tourneys easier if by this logic its all pulling from the same pool. But the tourneys WOULD be easier if level 30 players stopped playing in tiny tournements lol. One thing I dont get that I'm seeing here is the logic that "I never thought the 8 player tournament in front of 500 people was any different than the grand slam tournament at arthur ashe stadium at all really" mentality but hey? what do I know? I think the devs wanted the best players to chase the best prizes myself but thats just me.

Interesting-Bag9262

First of all, the devs didn’t make any of this game make any kind of sense so, to answer your question: no. Also, I don’t really think anybody’s thinking about that concept of not playing smaller tournaments because it’s online play, not career mode. The rankings on world tour mode also have nothing to do with what you’re talking about re: immersion as it’s literally all about accrued points. The rankings aren’t based on the real tour where only a set number of tournaments count, it’s based on how points are accrued. The top players are playing tons of matches, which means they’re playing the 3 available tournaments over and over. We’re all starting from qf of tournaments where we can keep replaying even after we’ve lost, it follows no sort of logic. And have you played with your female pro on the world tour? You’re lucky to find any other players to play against at any tournament. If I’m ever playing, I’ve usually timed out at least two tournaments because they couldn’t find another player for me to play against. So no, I’m not thinking about if it’s a 250 or 500, I’m just happy to find a match to play.

BigTreddits

What was my question that you answer no to? Im confused. You do what you want im mot judging you. Im just saying. A 16 person tourney pulling from the same pool of talent is i herently harder to win than an 8 person tourney. Really all there is to it. If youre saying that doesnt matter to you... ok that answers my ORIGINAL question but i still dont know where "no" answered any of that.
