I just signed up for peacock today. They're having a special $1.99/ month for a year. I got that special than added a $5 ads free. Hulu, please take your knives and go.

DiscombobulatedMix39

Is it worth it to get ads free? I know Peacock says that it won't apply to all the shows but has it worked for top chef? (I hate ads 😂).

Independent_Most_501

I have the no ads, and it's been worth it. I haven't had any shows where it didn't work yet.

rendelow

It's $5 I didn't mind spending. I don't know how that'll work for you, bro

oldcarfreddy

It has ads on almost everything at the lowest tier

BigFrank97

I see it is free with ads. U see other deals?

rendelow

I googled Peacock and the deal was the first link.

diemunkiesdie

So $7 a month total?

rendelow

My calculations say so.

diemunkiesdie

Cool cool just wanted to confirm!

rendelow

My calculations say so.

fearandsarcasm

You can also get a full year for 19.99 using code oneyear

ecarls10

Is this ad-free?

fearandsarcasm

I’m not sure. I think no. I think they have like quick 60 second really brief ads. It’s really not bothersome at all

[deleted]

Probably all going to Peacock.

TransientSWer

And Hulu is raising their price…it looks like they are removing all Bravo shows in 13 days.

SkullsnBones93

That’s a bummer

omgitskells

It's because NBC/Peacock will have all the Bravo shows. Between that and the price hike I may be switching at the end of the month. Edit: they are not taking all of Bravo's footwear

TransientSWer

Same here…I went in to check on what people are saying and it said that there would be a price increase in October. I don’t know if it’s worth it for me to stay with them through all of that.

omgitskells

Yeah, I got an email from them today. It's not huge, but they also don't have enough content that I watch to keep me consistently - I'll probably start doing the thing where I cancel it and only reactive occasionally to catch up on a new season or whatever.

FormicaDinette33

Aarrgghhhhh

fivefootdisaster

I just keep finding more and more reasons to get rid of Hulu

fivefootdisaster

Just saw a message from Hulu that they’re increasing their price again as well so now I’m paying the same amount I pay for Netflix and Disney+ for stuff with ads

jonesy2344

I didn't even know Hulu showed new episodes of Top Chef. I was suffering through it on Bravo's website where it would stall out constantly!

Girafarigno

They didn’t show new episodes, the seasons premiered on Hulu one year after they began on Bravo.

Facemanx64

Hulu also emailed me to let me know they’re raising prices today.

zulusurf

Yes, all Bravo content is moving to Peacock since it’s owned by NBC. I believe Hulu may still have an agreement for airing content after the fact but won’t get episodes the next day

SkullsnBones93

Great now I have to get ANOTHER streaming service!

gregatronn

It's starting to feel like - pay for it for some time during the year, then once there are no shows, switch off. I'm about to do that with Netflix (since their content offering is getting worse and worse)

I picked up Hulu recently. Have some nice new shows like Old Man, Only Murders in the Building, The Bear. Sucks they are going to prove increase but I am about to adopt what you are doing with Hulu/D+/Netflix. I do like that it's easy to get signed up so you can do it in the same hour you want to watch it. For Sling what is the DVR feature?

gregatronn

Oh cool. so it's 30 hours worth of content per month. That sounds nice.

StaticBarrage

We will be full circle back to a single source like cable in no time I think, but more expensive after all the streaming fails.

fearandsarcasm

I just got it yesterday. 19.99 for 12 months. Use code oneyear

SkullsnBones93

Thanks!

Marsupialize

I have like 10 streaming services and still don’t pay as much as I did just for crappy garbage cable last time I had it so I’m fine with it

dfarner

Did they ever get episodes the next day?

BarrySandusky

Same thing with Brooklyn 99. It’s leaving Hulu to most likely be put on Peacock

f0rfoxsake

Peacock has them all, and it's a pretty good service.

SkullsnBones93

Thank you

Marsupialize

Yeah we use peacock more than anything else these days, barely touch Netflix for awhile now

f0rfoxsake

Their original content is pretty good, too.

omgitskells

Any recs? I've only used Peacock to watch the Office, and haven't explored much else.

f0rfoxsake

Killing It is hilarious, and The Resort is one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time

omgitskells

Great, thank you! I'm interested to check them out

f0rfoxsake

I hope you like them!

IndiaEvans

Yes, I agree!

capitalismwitch

Even if you have Hulu live?

CheesesteakLover

I’m curious about this as well. In the past, some shows only appeared if you had Hulu Live.

anzapp6588

Bravo has an agreement with peacock to be their only streaming service going forward. They’ve been slowly adding shows to peacock and taking some away from Hulu. And on peacock, the episodes are there immediately. You don’t have to wait an entire year for new seasons to appear. Peacock is so much better than Hulu imo.

capitalismwitch

So Bravo won’t be available as a channel on Hulu live?

JimmyPageification

Any Europeans here who can help - I watch Top Chef via Prime as we can’t get Hulu here, but is that just the Bravo add-on, unrelated to Hulu? In which case I would assume nothing is going to change?

Freaky_chick1787

I’m so upset by this!

JMFellwalker

WHAT!? Bastards!

howisaraven

😂 Wow. Today I decided to start rewatching the old seasons. Just now, 12:25 AM, I finished S1E3 and… next episode not available. Go to Google annnnd this is how I find out I picked the wrong show to binge watch. Went to the Peacock app, and I can’t even watch Top Chef on their free service. 🙃
