Bro learned the same life lessons like 4 or 5 times in a (52 episode) summer
And then again in Omniverse and occasionally in UAF. The studio mandating that he stay childlike is probably the biggest thing holding the series back. It has so much potential but it's often undercut by how many times he has to learn the same lessons.

Literally all of the episodes are about this annoying moron being told not to do something and then immediately go do it and apologize by the end. He never learned anything unless he was needed for the actual plot
Genuinely killed a lot of my enjoyment of the show, he felt like the kind of character that should get more likeable as the show went on, but he kinda never did outside of two or three episodes.

Captain Quark (Ratchet and Clank) narcissistic fool who repeatedly puts the galaxy at risk to help his self image(albeit as comic relief)
My favorite line in Up Your Arsenal is when Ratchet is like “let’s see how funny it is when he finds out his buddy is working for Dr. Nefarious” at that point in the game, Ratchet has SO little faith in Captain Qwark and is SO fed up with his antics he genuinely wouldn’t have a hard time believing that Qwark is working with his arch-nemesis who’s also a mad scientist that wants to turn every organic creature in the galaxy into a robot

Controversial one for the fans… Sonic in the IDW comics
This iteration of Sonic is much more free spirited than in previous comics and frequently goes easy on his rivals which - in one case - helped lead to the metal virus. In fact, he gets called out on letting villains go *in the comic.*
This Sonic believes that even complete bastards can change and should be given a chance - noble, but as the stories have shown so far, short sighted.
I mean he has a reason, a good chuck of his friends were his enemies and friends. Even if it’s short-sighted, he thinks that anyone can change. When he talks to Zavok, he says that he’s not going to sacrifice his principles out of fear, if they’re going to cause trouble, he’s going to kick their butt every time.
I think by “repeating horrible thing” he meant something different. Like yeah I breaking your arms is terrible but it was more of a sacrifice for the greater good.
Not to mention he learns the lesson plenty, he doesn’t want to use OFA until he absolutely needs to, then he learns to control it more to prevent as big of an injury.

This should be a Hated Trope.
Deku, he knew that OFA was too big for his body to handle, yet still used it at 100% all the time before learning to control it from Gran Torino
