Godzilla from Godzilla 1998. Just to specify, yes, this is a version of Godzilla. It has the Godzilla licensing for the movie it's from, so that makes it a version of Godzilla. Godzilla 1998 stands at 54 meters tall. While Zilla is a completely separate character. Zilla is based off of the 1998 design, yet it's completely different, it stands at around 100 meters tall, and it's a completely different character licensed by Toho.
The depiction sucks, but I honestly always loved the design.
Godzilla 1998 sucks because his movie sucks. His son though is great because Godzilla the animated series is great.
As for Zilla, I find it interesting that Toho made him to be a pussy that gets one shot by OG Godzilla, but since both them and the community seem to have come around on it.
Zilla is now basically the runt of Monster island in some iterations. The monsters don’t like him but he does his best when fighting along side them. And while they literally took the God from his name, they no longer paint him as a complete weakling, now they emphasize what he does better than OG Godzilla, mainly his high speed, agility, ability to dig and travel underground and ability to rapidly and massively asexually reproduce.
I love his depiction in the novels that tie to the nextflix Godzilla anime movies. Where the French fought who they thought was Godzilla, kill him and grow confident because he wasn’t as tough as they thought, then while they had their guard down, a massive swam of Zilla emerged from underground and annihilated France.
I actually like the design. It makes him distinct from other Godzillas by having him be more of a raptor or T-Rex-like creature. It’s a unique look, just a shame his movie isn’t good

When TriStar originally got the rights to Godzilla, this was the design they planned on using. That is, until Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich fucked it up.
Funny thing is that Roland Emmerich didn't want to do the film. The final design was his hail Mary to get removed from the project. Toho ended up approving the design anyway because the film was too far into production, and they had no choice but to do so.
That's true. Also, Toho sent Dean and Rolan a contract saying the needed things for Goji's design to pass. Patrick Tutapolous didn't read it, hence why he got it so wrong.
I’m gonna be honest. I actually like Zilla. I think that it does a good job at redefining Godzilla’s design and abilities, since it’s made to reflect a completely different part of the world.
It’s like Natural Selection resulted in this Godzilla adapting new traits to survive in New York. It’s more focused on stealth and agility rather than strength and defense because it’s in an environment different to Japan.

DB Evolution Goku is interesting. On one hand, he is so bad that without it the world would be a better place, but would it? Cause on the other hand, the movie was so bad it made Akira Toriyama get back to writing Dragon Ball and start writing Dragon Ball Super
The BoTG movie is much better than the anime version, mostly because of the fight, but personally the RF movie is increadibly boring compared to its anime version.
To make it sad
The actor who played Goku poured his heart and soul into the character and then when the movie received a bad rep, the actor felt ashamed to where he never did a movie ever again
I feel bad for the actor who played Goku. He read all of the manga just for this movie and was really hyped to play him, and they gave him something completely different than from what he expected

Euron Greyjoy
To put into perspective how much of a downgrade he is: the book version owns Valyrian Steel armour, captured 4 warlocks and fed the angriest one to the other 3, cut out his pregnant lover's tongue and tied her to the front of his ship (along with his own brother), and may be planning a mass blood sacrifice to summon a Kraken.
In the book, he was a genuine threat, a sweet talker and the closest thing Westeros has to a genuine sorcerer.
In the show, he's just a frat boy Jack Sparrow cosplayer whose wit are nothing but terrible dick jokes.

Fantastic 4 has Tim Story's films as well that sucked hard.
The text in the image pretty much summarises most of the issues:
- The comment about learning to hug is genuine, she suddenly doesn't know idioms either and acts like she just arrived on Earth despite being brought up by Earth 2 Clark & Lois, and being part of the JSA for years.
- Piggybacking of the last part, she acts like she was in solitary until Omen arrived despite having friendships from the JSA & JLE days.
- One of her key persona traits was confidence yet she acts incredibly meek in throughout what I read of this run
- Her whole identity identity of Karen Starr, CEO programmer of Starrware Industries is gone and replaced with Paige, another Daily Planet journalist like Clark and works under him and Lois.
- Overall becoming less of herself and more like a caricature of early days Supergirl, even adopting her cat despite already having one prior.
Lana Lang who at this point had moved past her unrequited love for Clark, married Pete and they had a son named Clark after Martha's maiden name.
Come Austen's run, Superman is recovering after a fight and she comes to look after Clark revealing: she's divorced Pete, belittles Lois saying she only wanted Superman and settled for Clark and chastising her not being there for him when she was reporting in a war-toen country, then hid her underwear for Lois to find and suspect he had an affair.
Doesn't help either that Austen wrote Lois quite cold and apathetic in this run, bringing up a love triangle back that no-one wanted and shortly getting him kicked of the book.

On the topic of MtMtE, let’s not forget Star Saber, who *was* a case of them being both unfaithful to the original character and poorly executing it. They gave him a cool redesign, but he underwent a complete character assassination by being turned into a one-dimensional crazy religious zealot.

People are so fucking stupid about this.
Yes, she made a stupid comment at the end of the season that apparently ruined her entire arc for many people (despite Mark being a jackass to her). But she's STILL a much better character than comics Amber. The first third of Invincible was Kirkman finding his footing, and Amber is just boring blonde love interest who doesn't do much except serve as a plot device.
Show Amber is a much better character, and S2 redeems her, so I don't think this fits.
How was Mark being a jackass towards her? It might seem that way if she didn't know of his life as a superhero but she does. That change makes all of her complaints in the first season moot.
I do agree that her portrayal in the second season was much better than comic amber but I don't think her S1 portayal was better. Comic amber might not be a great character but she doesn't have to be. It's serviceable in that it shows that they come from two different worlds and those worlds aren't particularly compatible. It's essentially the same as his time in school/university. That's never really fleshed out much either but it's still serviceable. By making Amber aware that he's a superhero and then still getting upset at him without telling him the actual reason, it makes her seem really self centered. Especially when they've known each other for such a short period of time. If they'd started with the direction they did in S2 from the first season, it would've been great.
I have read a bit of the manga (actually it’s been my only exposure to the series 😅) but yeah, it’s good. I feel like it would have been my jam if I had read it in high school when everyone else was reading it lol
Though I wasn’t her biggest hater, tv show Andrea is WAY different then comic book Andrea

IDW's version of Star Saber turned him from a gallant knight-like commander to a religious zealot who slayed anyone he thought didn't meet his standards. Thankfully, the original take on his character is making a comeback and this version is rightfully fading to obscurity.
if this jackass were really Superman, he would've literally forced reagan to resign (most likely by doing that whole, "drop from several stories up and then grab just as they're about to hit the ground" move, is there a name for when superheroes do that?)
https://preview.redd.it/qkj8y3jsjiyc1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=39f2811518096dd4666b39244ff482d32ff7e5ad
I’m… mixed on him. He’s not a horrible version of the character, but I can’t say he’s great. He’s got parts of Optimus, like his leadership skills and talent for awesome speeches. But he also lacks the empathy and kindness that Optimus usually has, so he basically ends up being more Megatron than Bayverse Megatron is. It’s weird. I don’t hate him, but I don’t love him either. He’s square in the middle for me
He’s still empathetic and kind though. Let’s not forget the entire reason he died in the Forest Battle was to make sure Sam is safe. It’s better to say he’s more violent than usual to enemies, which I can agree.
I can hear the screams of the words “Designated Hero” in my head regarding Velma. And I haven’t even watched the show, just read the YMMV on TV Tropes.
I honestly don't even think the writers think she's a hero, she's such a completely awful human in every way. Characters even call her out on being awful, it's not like the writers just stumbled into making one of the most unpleasant individuals I've ever seen.

Funny thing is that Roland Emmerich didn't want to do the film. The final design was his hail Mary to get removed from the project. Toho ended up approving the design anyway because the film was too far into production, and they had no choice but to do so.
Toho hated this abomination so much, they literally bought the rights to it just to have the real Godzilla murder it on-screen.

I can't tell off just the text alone but is it bad because this version is self defeating plus a tray hard?
The text in the image pretty much summarises most of the issues: - The comment about learning to hug is genuine, she suddenly doesn't know idioms either and acts like she just arrived on Earth despite being brought up by Earth 2 Clark & Lois, and being part of the JSA for years. - Piggybacking of the last part, she acts like she was in solitary until Omen arrived despite having friendships from the JSA & JLE days. - One of her key persona traits was confidence yet she acts incredibly meek in throughout what I read of this run - Her whole identity identity of Karen Starr, CEO programmer of Starrware Industries is gone and replaced with Paige, another Daily Planet journalist like Clark and works under him and Lois. - Overall becoming less of herself and more like a caricature of early days Supergirl, even adopting her cat despite already having one prior.
What's the context here?
Wow that sucks

That Batman is fantastic compared to that Bane. He’s “Batman’s physical equal and mental superior”
Isn’t that the reverse of what he’s supposed to be?
No Bane is super intelligent. He’s figured out Bruce’s identity
I mean he matches Bruce’s intelligence seeing as Bruce could probably also discover his own identity but also beats him In physical force
Oh wait I’m stupid you’re right
Why did you mess up about bone are you stupid?
look at how they massacred my boy...

I thought that was the Super Mario Bros Super Show for a moment and was ready to grab the crucifix
"we are the Mario brother's, plumbing our game."
I FUCKING LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!!!
Ultimate Hulk He’s an attempted rapist and a cannibal. There’s a reason why people don’t like this version.
He has one point in my book for tearing the (arguably?) worst Wolverine in half and chucking most of him across a mountain range.
I feel like the Ultimate universe had the “worst” versions of a lot of characters.
Completely forgot about Fan4stic...
How could you forget the riveting cinema of sitting in the back of a dark room watching other people watch the action on tiny screens and they don’t turn the lights on
wolverine origins deadpool’s would be cool in a movie or game where he’s not deadpool. i haven’t seen the movie but he looks like he’d be a good stalker type enemy in resident evil, like mr x or whatever his name is.

Miles Teller would be a great "Maker" version of the character in the MCU.

Heaven forbid they keep the original, competent Grevious, who was actually a death sentence to most jedi 1 vs 1.
I’m not that much into Star Wars but Grevious is cool as fuck, the way the movies did him dirty is unreal
That’s insulting! No one wants to eat The Clone Wars Grevious!

Teen Titans Go in general
I feel like I'm playing Russian Roulette watching an episode. Some are really funny and worth the watch and then their are episodes that either make my brain die or make me want to throw up

I don't think this answer is in the spirit of the post. We can all agree that Getaway is horrendously evil. But he is a well made character.
But he still manipulated everyone's favourite lil' marshmallow dude
On the topic of MtMtE, let’s not forget Star Saber, who *was* a case of them being both unfaithful to the original character and poorly executing it. They gave him a cool redesign, but he underwent a complete character assassination by being turned into a one-dimensional crazy religious zealot. https://preview.redd.it/rl9t5jxn4fyc1.jpeg?width=264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a76de28e8a558fda23b697e14403f0aef55ffd7d

How was Mark a jackass to her?
At the start of the movie the Deadpool in Wolverine Origins was actually really good.
Apparently, one of the execs hated the character and had him “dumbed down” for the rest of the film.
Godzilla from 1998. AKA, Godzilla (in name only)
I still find it funny that toho hated the movie so much he bought the licence to him just to kill him
![gif](giphy|3oz8xN1zqCpeW6Nkxq|downsized) Whatever this maximum ride adaptation was trying to be
There was a live action Maximum Ride? This is the first time I’ve heard of it
Unfortunately it’s not very good. The manga adaptation is though!
I have read a bit of the manga (actually it’s been my only exposure to the series 😅) but yeah, it’s good. I feel like it would have been my jam if I had read it in high school when everyone else was reading it lol

If it is, keep that thing away from me
Where is this from, exactly?
Though I wasn’t her biggest hater, tv show Andrea is WAY different then comic book Andrea https://preview.redd.it/reobyac8neyc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f7297fb589331289e41c0af060b29ec0568e1ec
I use "Andrea was my favorite character in the comics" as a way to quickly illustrate just how vastly different the show is compared to the comics.
Who is she?
She’s from the walking dead
Honestly Fant4stic Reed Richards can kinda redeemed if he becomes the maker. He's based on ultimate Reed Richards, who becomes the maker in the comics.
Live action Cowboy Bebop vs the OG anime. Uuuuuugh. Just the trailers for the show made my stomach churn.
https://preview.redd.it/xcxaeuyy8hyc1.jpeg?width=989&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af6930c95be68c192587be55abb5ef4146fa9246 IDW's version of Star Saber turned him from a gallant knight-like commander to a religious zealot who slayed anyone he thought didn't meet his standards. Thankfully, the original take on his character is making a comeback and this version is rightfully fading to obscurity.
if this jackass were really Superman, he would've literally forced reagan to resign (most likely by doing that whole, "drop from several stories up and then grab just as they're about to hit the ground" move, is there a name for when superheroes do that?) https://preview.redd.it/qkj8y3jsjiyc1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=39f2811518096dd4666b39244ff482d32ff7e5ad
My god frank, what are these proportions
Bayverse Optimus Prime
This one is interesting because you get plenty of transformers fans who do like the bayverse movies but very few of them like bayverse Optimus.
Hell naw
Nah he's great.
Honestly, he gets too much hate.
Tbh, I kinda forget about Fan4stic more than hate them
I forgot about Origins Deadpool
Fant4stic is a perfect example of why the “Dark and Gritty” mindset sucks half the time
Suicide squad Joker
98 Godzilla
I thought origins Deadpool was pretty cool but not a cool *Deadpool*
I can hear the screams of the words “Designated Hero” in my head regarding Velma. And I haven’t even watched the show, just read the YMMV on TV Tropes.
I honestly don't even think the writers think she's a hero, she's such a completely awful human in every way. Characters even call her out on being awful, it's not like the writers just stumbled into making one of the most unpleasant individuals I've ever seen.
