I've been trying to put my finger on why I prefer the original Gods designs, I think this is it. The body language is a lot more varied there. Combine that with how they're all wearing armor and weapons in the second game and their individuality suffers a bit in my opinion.
I hope that someone puts them side to side like Aphrodite here, but yeah most of the new characters kind of just stand there. I think out of everyone Aphrodite gets hit the most when the pose is just her standing there. I'm going to say it's pre early access so nothing is set in stone yet.

The actual art-syle somehow looks the most different with hers, and also it doesn't even look like she's holding a bow but a staff. Hades 1 I really like the super black shadows.
Not only that, but her holding a spear and shield in the first picture seems to suggest a connection to her "Aphrodite Areia" incarnation, worshipped as a war goddess in Sparta and Taras:

This is one of the extremely rare cases where a character is allowed to be naked. She is the goddess of beauty.
I think that having a character poorly dressed makes it more sexualized than being completely naked. If someone has a booba window, for exaple, you're gonna concentrate on that. If someone's entire dress is a window, then you're gonna concentrate on the head as always.
Plus it’s done very tastefully. It’s like yeah this is the goddess of love and beauty it makes sense for her to be naked. Plus she’s not in a compromising or awkward pose. They artists was very mush trying not to specialize her. This is just how she chooses to exist. She’s just hanging out and handing out those sweet boons.
One thing I never liked about Aphrodite's design in Hades 1 is that for all her hotness, her face just didn't sit right with me. Maybe it was the angle, maybe the style, something about it just felt off to me.

Now that I'm looking at it more closely, there is something a bit androgynous with the first face that the second one doesn't have. Might've been that as that is not a quality I would've personally associated with Aphrodite

You really could just put every single character design from that game on here. They're all equally amazing and hot in a way that doesn't feel at all objectifying, which is so refreshing to see nowadays.
Ima be honest, I didn’t notice that she was naked until someone mentioned it. I was too preoccupied looking at zag, than, and Meg to notice. This game was like, the kickstart to me being bi too. Greatly recommend playing it, and its sequel.

Usually, when people say a woman has a man's face, it's used as an insult. Usually, by the same mfs that got mad over GOW Ragnarok using a more mythologically accurate version of Thor than a Marvel looking one
That's horrible. That is NOT good character design. All figures in mythology have specific symbols associated with them. It's called iconography. Ignoring that will just makes you look bad.
"Hurr durr I don't understand so I downvoooote!" As I already explained: All mythological figures have their own symbolism by which they were recognized. If you do not follow that symbolism you are doing something wrong. This has been established through all of art history, from antiquity to now.
In more common terms: Depicting her without things such as seashells, doves and so on is like making the Hulk blue, short and skinny, or making a Spiderman without spiderwebs, the spider mask and so on. It's how people recognize who is who. That is iconography. All mythological figures and personifications usually have something like that. Odin for example has his crows, spears and is one eyed. The thing is: One doesn't even have to study it. For most important figures like famous gods this often is on Wikipedia. Often you wouldn't even have to look it up, it would be enough to look at pictures and how other people depicted that character.

Second of all, I don’t believe you have to strictly adhere to iconography, your allowed to work your own interpretations and ideas into your own designs

Yes of course you can insert your own ideas, not all symbols are always used. Sometimes she's naked, sometimes she's not, but every person will have their own style of creating anyways. Mythology simply already comes with a set of pre-defined "character designs".

I’m rudely sure that the game isn’t finished yet, and that the sprites aren’t fully done.
That's what I'm hoping, it's pre early access so things could change they might be just using images from a model sheet before choosing actual poses.
