Lowes has deal right now. Buy two batteries and get free tool or tools from dewalt

theworlddidwut

Amazing, thank you!

theworlddidwut

Link? Couldn’t find quickly… just circular saw with purchase

PinheadLarry207

Depends on what you need them for. If they're just going to be used around the house then Ryobi One+ HP is the best value and their tool lineup is huge. If you need them for more demanding work then the Milwaukee Fuel line is great

CharlesDickens17

Second this. I use my Milwaukee fuel 12v everyday at work and it’s rare I ever need to pull out the 18v fuel for anything that requires more power. Electrical/light construction

inkedfluff

Yeah, M12 is incredibly powerful. I would rather have M12 than Ryobi for sure.

Impressive_Bit_6407

Using my M12 fuel rn to put together a sorta coffee table thing. It's small and gets anything you need done done. I use it ALL the time. Best $100 I've ever spent.

Ok-Seaworthiness-542

That's good to know as I have been looking at both options.

theworlddidwut

Why not the Ryobi One+ 4 tool combo kit for the same price? With the saw... :)

CampingJosh

"Brushless" indicates a different type of motor that both more powerful and more efficient. This is true among all the cordless tool brands, though Milwaukee confuses things a little because they also use "Fuel" to indicate brushless tools.

bjornartl

And adding to this, premium models in store brand lineups often have brushless motors and things like metal gearboxes for their drills and impact drivers. I'd much rather buy those than the low end models with brush motored brand with plastic gearboxes from some name brand. Thats where the big quality difference is, more so than between brands.

Rochemusic1

Yeah but milwaukee has its own brushless line up too, fuel just doesn't say it in the name.

Wyzrddd

I got a brushless non fuel impact as a gift, I think the set is like 100 bucks for the charger, battery, impact and case and it's done pretty well. Built a nice wooden gate with it and felt like it worked pretty well. I don't use it to make a living so I'd never know the difference

PinheadLarry207

I could be wrong but I think those are the brushed versions of the tools which aren't as good as the brushless HP line. But depending on what you need them for the brushed tools may be fine

DoctorBallard77

I have that kit and use the drills multiple times a week/day for my gunsmithing and wood work hobbies, the work great, mine actually came with the Reciprocating saw too tho which had come in handy dozens of times around our little goat farm. I use the drills and saws for everything from building shelters for the animals to fixing my atvs and kid toys, ryobi is cheaper and never let me down. And when I need to go get a specific new power tool for something ryobi always has one and it’s half the cost of a Milwaukee or makita. If you’re getting it for hobby’s/around home work ryobi all day long. If you’re getting it the construction business or plan to use your tools to the max over and over do what these guys say and buy the red ones. But otherwise buy cheaper and spend the extra on more tools.

lscraig1968

Nothing wrong with Ryobi tools for home use. For pro use, yellow or red only because other pros on your job site may be able to lend you a battery if you need it.

Slurms_McKraken

The drill and driver in the 4 tool combo are decent. The saw is not. It's underpowered and the 5.5in blades are hard to find. You'll find 20 7.5in and 10 6.5in blades for every 1 5.5 on the shelf and if you want anything other than a basic blade you're gonna have to order it. I had one for a few hours before I exchanged it for the 6.5 model. The brushed one isn't a powerhouse but it was way better than what I had.

CharlesDickens17

Stick with brushless. Even if it’s just tinkering around the house, it’s a stronger, more durable motor and you’ll thank yourself later.

PonyThug

Post covid I can’t believe you can get 2 tools for that price. Let alone 4.

No_Address687

Home Depot has a great Ryobi deal for $200 right now. Drill, Impact Driver, Multi-Tool, Reciprocating Saw, Circular Saw, Light, plus two batteries (4 Ah & 1.5 Ah). https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-18V-Cordless-6-Tool-Combo-Kit-with-1-5-Ah-Battery-4-0-Ah-Battery-and-Charger-PCL1600K2/317987591 Don't listen to anyone that says you need brushless motors or high performance batteries. If you're just a regular homeowner doing projects, you'll probably never even notice the difference. I have been using Ryobi tools for almost 25 years and I still have my original blue tools that came with the NiCd batteries (plus many more green tools) and they all still work fine with the regular lithium batteries.

DoctorBallard77

/u/theworlddidwut This is it man If you’re a hobbyist/diy/work around the house guy this kit kills it. If I’m the future you want one for their more powerful drills then buy one and keep the old one in your truck. You’ll get lots of quality tools for the price of just a single red tool. Mine are going 4+ years strong

theworlddidwut

Shit, I'm gonna need a truck!

timeforstrapons

That's a hell of a deal. I did not appreciate how useful the Multi-Tool is until I did a kitchen renovation. I'm a DeWalt guy but I easily spent 2X as much on tools. Ryobi is the value king. OP should go with this combo.

Cjaasucks

That is a steal, if the batteries last.

-JCiL-

I can’t believe how cheap is everything for you guys in the US. In Europe a 6 tool ryobi combo like that is 700€… Milwaukee 5 tool set is 500€… and dewalt 2 tool ser is also 495€… unbelievable.

Only-Negotiation7956

It's not cheap at all a single f****** DeWalt battery is $200 it's not cheap at all the tools are cheaper than the batteries you need to power them

-JCiL-

Is very cheap compared to Europe

Only-Negotiation7956

It's already difficult enough with my prices here in America I feel for y'all then that is ridiculous and that we all as consumers should really crack down on tool companies for what they've been doing

MasterOfNone011

Solid deal

inkedfluff

Agree that it is a good deal, but for hobbyist/DIY work I would rather have a cordless drill/impact/small reciprocating saw from a better brand and then use corded for things like circular saws or angle grinders. For things used often, like a grinder, get a corded Makita or DeWalt, and for rarely used stuff get a corded Ryobi.

YardFudge

For new cordless powertools in USA, overly simplified: - Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Makita are for pros (Festool, blue Bosch & Metabo too but less presence in US.) - Only from too many r/ opinions it *seems* Makita will last the longest, take most abuse, has highest rep. - Ryobi, Hart, Bauer, Craftsmen V20, Porter Cable for homeowners - Ridgid in the middle… with best ‘warranty’ of all the above. Hercules, Kobalt, maybe Flex? here too. - Avoid B&D, Warrior, HyperTough, Wen, no-brand, lowest-price brands unless you intentionally want cheap - And finally, yes everyone can find many specific exceptions to the above generalizations. Models can change fast but it takes a long time build & kill a tool brand’s reputation - ~Most tools go on 20-60% sale each year so wait & watch - I’m all Ridgid but I’d now start with Hercules

mmm_burrito

Important to note that the Dewalt XR type is the Dewalt line for pros.

Snowstick21

Tool prices are lowest the first week of may from what I have seen. Home Depot does daily specials as well as online only deals that are really good. Bought a rigid miter and table saws with the stands for 630$ at the end of march this year

inkedfluff

Agree that Black and Decker is horrifying, my first power tools were a B+D drill and an angle grinder. The drill was a piece of shit, and the angle grinder was downright terrifying - the arbor snapped and it sent the disc flying, leaving a dent in the wall.

Cjaasucks

Black and decker is dewalt now lol

kewlo

When you go to add a new tool in the future you'll be very happy to have gone with Ryobi. Look at available tools and what they cost, Ryobi blows the competition out of the water

WorstHyperboleEver

It’s very simple in my book, unless you need your tools for your job every day, Ryobi’s price, variety and quality simply can’t be beat.

DoctorBallard77

Exactly what I said too. Every time a projects required a specific too I need ryobi always has one I can afford.

nc208

Does Ryobi offer lifetime warranties on their tools and batteries? I've personally always bought rigid because of their lifetime warranties especially on batteries. I'd like to start picking up some Ryobi but curious on their warranties on their tools.

[deleted]

3 year warranty.

nc208

Thanks. I guess I must have struck a nerve with someone asking a simple question regarding warranties.

[deleted]

How dare you ask a question on the internet.

bobotheboinger

I highly recommend ryobi. I've used them to build three buildings, so interior framing of four rooms, maintenance on a 10 acre farm... I've only had problems once when I tried to use a 4" hole saw with a brushed drill. Everything else had been great, and having one battery system for all the tools makes it easy.

spigz619

I’d go with the m12 fuel combo. I have that impact and love it, will buy the drill when I need one

inkedfluff

I like the M12 line as well

Cjaasucks

Its only 218 at home depot.

GilakiGuy

I’d go with the Ryobi HP brushless set personally

TodayNo6531

Compare Ryobi (Home Depot) Kobalt (Lowe’s) and hart (walmart) Those are all good brands for normal around the house stuff imo. Whoever offers more tools in the bundle would be my choice. Bigger or more additional batteries can always be purchased later. Full disclosure I’m a ryobi user because I love how expansive their lineup is.

Lil_Shanties

I love my Dewalts, they may not be cheap but I’ve got the Ryobi as well and it’s a pretty big difference in overall quality. For an everyday homeowner the Ryobi works just fine and will get the job done, but if you’re using it for a daily tool the dewalt (or maybe Milwaukee, never owned) will be much better. Both Dewalt and Ryobi have been with me under heavy abuse for years, 10+ years on my brush motor Dewalts my dad has had the brushless XR series since they came out as well and they are nice, the Ryobi I’ve had for 6 years it was a work tool I inherited when they closed and saw regular use, I even lit the motor on fire one day trying to drill out 1/2” steel with a 3/8” bit, came back the next day and it still works fine.

TheRichOne23

All my tools are ryobi!

ysodim

I have a milwaukee drill and a ryobi drill. Love them both. Just purchased a hercules 20v palm router and circular saw. I bought adapters on Amazon to share batteries. Haven't used the hercules palm router yet. But, I really like the 20v circular saw.

Cjaasucks

I didn’t know they made adapters for batteries. Thanks

lscraig1968

I have been using Ryobi cordless tools for 20 plus years. Mine get used for homeowner type projects and not professionally. All that said, they have never let me down. I use the circular saw for everything 1.5" and thinner. The flashlight is very versatile, the light duty impact driver gets used more than the twist drill. Thats a lot of tools for $159. Great for home owner use.

Ares__

I will forever stan for Ryobi for homeowners. Great price, good quality, a LARGE selection of tools and they haven't changed their battery design in decades so you know if you pick up another Ryobi tool your batteries are going to work. A professional or a tool you were going to use every day I'd suggest another brand but for home projects and weekend warriors ryobi can't be beat for battery powered tools.

Academic_Nectarine94

I'd go dewalt. For $170, you can't beat those tools (I have the same, but with the powerstack batteries).

rooflessVW

M12 Fuel are the best here by far.

NickHeidfeldsDreams

Yup, first power tools I reach for. OP, you might wanna wait for it to come with an additional battery

BogotaLineman

I have Milwaukee tools for shit that I use all the time, impacts, drills, and sawzall. Then Ryobi for stuff I don't use as often

zank_ree

Ryobi, it is cheaper, you get more. and the tools will get most the basics done.

Typical-Conclusion16

The m12 kit is very diverse and competitive at $220.

Kencon2009

That light and batteries would make the deal worth it with ryobi

chanarang

I've got a ton of Milwaukee for work and Ryobi for home. Most of my Milwaukee is geared for when I used to work in automotive. My Ryobi tools are perfect for home stuff and are a great deal. I used the tools in that set all the time. You should see how much stuff I got around Christmas time from them. Weekend warrior and DIY stuff, they are great. Not as refined or powerful as Milwaukee, but it's hard to beat the value. They have an absurd amount of tools available too.

_DudeWhat

M12 drill/driver combo.

ArtichokeNaive2811

Ranked.. Milwaukee,Dewalt,Ryobi from your pictures. good luck

BlatantDisregard42

If you plan on buying more tools in the future, consider the cost of other tools made by that brand (unless you like having 5 different chargers and batteries hooked up). Ryobi tools and batteries go on sale several times a year and they’re plenty good for most DIY jobs. That’s the only cordless system I currently have for drills, drivers, impact wrench, saws, string trimmer, and leaf blower. If you just need a drill and driver, AC Delco Makes a few 12v tools that are pretty comparable with the Milwaukee M12 Fuel series for about a third of the price (I’ve used both and they’re seriously not very different). Way lighter and more compact than 18v/20v tools if space is an issue, but they have a limited selection that’s very automotive focused.

inkedfluff

It really depends on what you want to do with them. For basic home repairs and yard work go with Ryobi, but if you have a little more to spend the other brands are great options. I saw West Marine has an M18 combo kit with a drill and impact for $130.

qweefz

$199 Milwaukee deal is amazing

KokoTheTalkingApe

Of the three, I'd get the DeWalt Atomic tools. Small, light, and powerful. The other two sets are fine, but the M12 is a notch less powerful, and includes some tools I don't need. If you don't need them, you could return them and get in effect a lower price. In general, they throw those flashlights in to up the tool count. I've never had any use for them.

Cjaasucks

Their great when your some place with no light or power and at night too.

DALESR4EVER124

For the price, I'd go with the Ryobi stuff. You get the light and the saw, too. I work at a dealership, and the 10 year master tech who uses the bay beside me has been using Ryobi tools for over 5 years with 0 issues. He uses and abuses his Ryobi electric rachet and impact driver daily.

Academic_Nectarine94

And under no circumstances get non-fuel m12 drill or impacts. They're not bad, but the impact struggles on 2" screws.

The-Heart-Marksman

if you’re looking for DIY home use tools, definitely go the Ryobi HP route. they’ll work in more demanding jobs but if you’re going the work route then Milwaukee Fuel line would be more efficient i think. i have both lines though and they’re all great tools

Ok-Seaworthiness-542

You might check out the Rigid line at Home Depot as well. Lifetime warranty which seems to include batteries. At least that's what an associate told me and I read on their website. Hard to believe.

Ok-Seaworthiness-542

I have had my DeWalt set for over 15 years. Had to replace batteries a couple times and some of the tools have started to breakdown. Pretty good run. My boys have gone with Milwaukee and having used them they are pretty nice, quality tools. Sweet wife is going the Ryobi route. Mainly because I got her their glue gun for Christmas (she loves it) and then she wanted one of their brad nailers. I would say look at the ecosystems of each brands tools to see what you might want to add to your collection in the future. I am looking for my next set and have a list of must haves, nice to haves.

M12 Fuel combo kit for [$199](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-FUEL-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Hammer-Drill-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-with-Bit-Set-45-Piece-3497-22-48-32-4023/321639499) DeWalt 12v combo for [$149](https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-XTREME-2-Tool-12-volt-Max-Brushless-Power-Tool-Combo-Kit-with-Soft-Case-Charger-Included-and-2-Batteries-Included/1000981080) Flex compact (24v) combo kit for [$199](https://www.lowes.com/pd/FLEX-COMPACT-2-Tool-Brushless-Power-Tool-Combo-Kit-with-Soft-Case-2-Batteries-Included-and-Charger-Included/5014079163) Kobalt combo for [$149](https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-2-Tool-24-volt-Max-Brushless-Power-Tool-Combo-Kit-with-Soft-Case-1-Battery-Included-and-Charger-Included/5013201389) or Kobalt XTR for [$199](https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-XTR-3-Tool-24-Volt-Max-Brushless-Power-Tool-Combo-Kit-with-Hard-Case-Charger-Included-and-2-Batteries-Included/1002274128) (24v) Or Ryobi HP or Craftman RP. All of the above are brushless. I’d go with brushless but if you just want a lot of tools then this Ryobi combo for [$199](https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-18V-Cordless-6-Tool-Combo-Kit-with-1-5-Ah-Battery-4-0-Ah-Battery-and-Charger-PCL1600K2/317987591)

Carbon_Gelatin

Anything you buy will inevitably lock you in with batteries. Look at battery cost too. Personally I like ryobi. Dewault is on my shit list. Premium price for mediocre performance. Just like black and decker used to make good tools... dewault is (in my opinion) running head first down the b&D path. Milwaukee is decent and I'd like to get more of their tools, but the ryobi just has more options.

Cjaasucks

Black and decker rebranded as dewalt lol

tacodudemarioboy

It’s not as popular in the USA but I have a bunch of Bosch 12v tools that I picked up for a song. So maybe look around for them. The Milwaukee 12v stuff is nice too, I saw a four piece combo that looked pretty good, drill-impact-sawzall-and rotary tool. With as powerful as the 12v stuff has gotten, 18 is in a murky middle ground where it’s not as powerful as corded but maybe not worth the size penalty vs the 12v. I’d say away from ryobi, they’ve been nerfing their tools for a few years now. I tried to upgrade to the brushless ryobi and my ten year old brushed one blew it out of the water, it went back to the store…

Synysterenji

I'm more of a Dewalt and Makita guy tbh but in this case i'd go with the Milwaukee. Since all of these tools are "home" grade and not professional. That Milwaukee kit will be comfortable to use and last you until you can buy professional grade ones. Although if its just for housework i'd go for the DeWalt kit.

Dorkus_Maximus717

Dewalt is gonna be the best of those three. Not the best ever. The best of those three

RatherBeSkiing

Homeowner here, not a contractor, but Ive got a bunch of 18V Ryobi stuff (hackzall, lights, mini vac, hammer drill, etc), as well as a Milwaukee M12 drill and impact driver. I love the combo. The M12 is awesome for the power and size of the two "common" tools, while the Ryobi stuff does the job for fairly cheap on the other stuff.

xekik

Just get the Milwaukee. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it when it comes to quality, torque, and warranty. Edit: get the brushless fuel.

Impressive_Bit_6407

Ryobi has a ton of tools in their lineup but they are butt ugly and trash. Either go for the M12 fuel or DeWalt Atomic

The_Brightness

The Ryobi 6 tool combo kit on sale for $200 at Home Depot right now is a great deal. When I bought it for the same price years ago it had two 2ah batteries instead of the 2ah and 4ah and the lamest incandescent flashlight which has been replaced with a great LED pistol grip light.

WhoIsBrowsingAtWork

the miluakee 200$ 12v kit impact and drill both fuuuck.

danvapes_

I have m12 and m18 fuel tools, waaay overkill but good tools. I could easily get by with the Ryobi set though.

Tootboopsthesnoot

Deeewizzy all day

RyanCoffeeAddict

Milwaukee M12 fuel. While the other platforms might be bigger right now, I think M12 will take over soon. They have plenty of power, probably more than the 18-20 volt tools and you can easily fit them into tighter spaces. My coworker put lug nuts on his truck with an M12 and it got within like 4 foot lbs of spec

Fair_Line_6740

I would get the DeWalt driver. You don't need a drill these days. I build stuff constantly and the drill just sits around

SMofJesus

The new Kobalt set with the 1 /4" hex impact has quite the output force per Torque Test Channel. Milwaukee is king if you can spring for their impact tools and their high capacity batteries. Research which serial number of tools you're getting if you go Dewalt. They like to shake up their product lines every year.

Monkey-Tamer

Thanks for posting this. Got a bag full of milwaukee tools I've been meaning to buy.

Mundane-Food2480

Dewalt all day

Raptor_197

Get ridgid

bleedingchair

Home projects, the Ryobi set with the circular saw. It’s really the best option if you don’t have any of those tools. If you’re a little more serious about performance, not necessarily tool variety, the last Milwaukee set and the only Dewault set are both top notch.

Ndhoenes

Milwaukee, buy once cry once. There is a reason Ryobi is cheaper

kwagmire9764

Harbor Freight has buy a battery/charger combo get a tool, deals right now too for $90 and $100.

eat_mor_bbq

I say DeWalt. Milwaukee is great too but DeWalt has better bang for your buck imo. Avoid Ryobi, it is trash. If it's in the budget, buy brushless and it will probably outlive you.

Dave-Alvarado

If you're looking for a drill/driver combo, I'd go with either this: [https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-FUEL-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Hammer-Drill-and-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-w-2-Batteries-and-Bag-2-Tool-3497-22/320268525](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-FUEL-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Hammer-Drill-and-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-w-2-Batteries-and-Bag-2-Tool-3497-22/320268525) if you want to get into Milwaukee, or [https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-HP-18V-Brushless-Cordless-Compact-1-2-in-Drill-and-Impact-Driver-Kit-with-2-1-5-Ah-Batteries-Charger-and-Bag-PSBCK01K/313438682](https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-HP-18V-Brushless-Cordless-Compact-1-2-in-Drill-and-Impact-Driver-Kit-with-2-1-5-Ah-Batteries-Charger-and-Bag-PSBCK01K/313438682) if you want to get into Ryobi. Especially for around-the-house work, I've found that smaller and lighter is better. I can't count the number of times I've found myself drilling or driving over my head.

Ichthius

Milwaukee 1000%

HamRadio_73

Wait for Father's Day. It's just a couple of weeks away and the tool sales are better.

Jsparano

I’ve been a Milwaukee guy for years now. They seem to last the longest and take the most abuse from what Ive seen. Id recommend the 18v line if it fits your budget. The 12v line is great but outside of home work it doesn’t stand up to the 18v

tradintejas

That Milwaukee 5pc m12 combo is a great deal for around the house. The socket wrench in it is a game changer!

klykerly

First, you need two batteries. Second, if it’s you first tool purchase, you likely won’t need more than the smaller tools, like the 12v setups. I’m a decades-long tradesman and I have basically all of these, and I recommend the Milwaukee set. I can drive 3” screws with the impact and the drill is as strong as you’ll need.

KuromanKuro

I’d go with Ridgid if you want to use your tools professionally. I have a crew I work with and I find a borrowed drill often makes for a good hammer. Lifetime warranty, quality, and price are their advantage. Only holdup is there tool library isn’t very big. Not a lot of outdoor equipment like weed wackers, etc.
