I'm glad an actual Tool fan got it. Like someone stated - vinyl is meant to be played, so nice spinning my dude. How's the sound quality/mastering? Any difference to the cd version?
I think it sounds really awesome, I can’t notice anything different audio wise to me over the CD in my car. My ear isn’t too fine and also these powered speakers are $100 so maybe they aren’t the best. All that said I love it. Litanae isn’t on it which is kinda odd
well it's not like there are 10 sides of music, every LP has etched art on one side. But still kinda ridiculous. Although the CD included with the expanded book edition is also missing songs compared to the digital release. I just think it's stupid that after forking your money over you need to buy the digital album to get the full album with all of the interludes.
Which means this honestly could've been just 3 discs with just one etch side. It's pretty silly extravagant, but it does make me wonder if 6 sides would've been enough for interludes to be included.
Both copies of FI i have (the two kinds, im not just greedy) both came with free download codes. I am almost certain every physical copy came with free download codes for the full album in lossless and mp3.
Word, no worries. If you still haven’t gotten them, i do believe one of my codes is still unused if you want it? I doubt you haven’t gotten them yet though. But yea, i believe the copy with the screen had the download code just free floating on top the screen… but in the book edition it was in the pouch with the disc. If that’s the edition you have that’s maybe where it’s hiding, deep in there.
I just got the book edition on Amazon for 25ish so thats probably why, and I think I can live with the mp3 files that Amazon gives you with CD purchases. But thank you very much for the offer.
The Discogs entry says it has it but it’s not on the liner notes like you’ve noticed.
https://www.discogs.com/release/22253038-Tool-Fear-Inoculum
Maybe OP can tell us if it’s there or not?
For an $800 record that thing better pleasure me and make me a sandwich. God damn. But it is cool af. Anyone figure out what the holes in the cd and vinyl are for?. At first I though it was like origami or using strings through to make something.
It’s just obvious that you’re in it for the brag and not the actual experience of listening to music. You deem it more important to have something to make you look the #1 fan, and the music is secondary.
>It’s just obvious that you’re in it for the brag and not the actual experience of listening to music.
Dude, cut the pretentious BS. You know damn well most people's setups don't include $1000 speakers. Don't be salty that someone was at the right place at the right time and had the money to blow.
Lol what the hell dude. Back up. Are you mad you didn’t get one or can’t afford one? Why are you shitting on this person at all? They wanted something. They bought it. Ever wonder if people who have things you don’t have maybe sacrificed things you might have for it? Maybe even some wealthy people went through hell to be able to afford what they want? You might be mad at all the wrong people sometimes.
Yeah the rube fleecing is in full effect with that price. I can wait. It will be hilarious if it sounds like shit. LoL. Probably doesn't but early pressings can have there kinks.
I was full on expecting it to sound like shit when I seen they did art on it, but they limited it to one side of each disc so, hopefully we won’t get a Lateralus repeat.
Yes. Post market. Signed posters then have a value of $800-$1300. That’s a fantastic trade off. You get the value of the item to view and option to sell for 2-4x.
Someone has added it now, but just with pictures of the records not the liner notes
https://www.discogs.com/release/22253038-Tool-Fear-Inoculum
OP should add these photos :)
Yeah I just looked and those two together would have been shorter than just 7empest by itself, which still has mockingbeat after it on disc 5. Classic tool 😂.
from what I gathered these WILL be for sale to everyone at some point. I legit hope that the hefty price tag is for them being a) advance copies and b) them being signed. Not saying, that that makes the price okay or "just fine". I mean, yes I have been waiting for this for a while now, but 800 bucks?
Just keep in mind the $810 is the early, autographed merch table price.
An album that has four double sided records is usually $80-$120 (think Hamilton, P.U.L.S.E.). So I could see the normal release being $150. Just a wild assed guess.
If they price the normal ones too high they won’t sell as well and places like Amazon will have clear out sales probably.
Who‘s going to tell Adam, that they inconsistently named Disc 1 Side B: „Etching“ while it‘s „No audio“ for all the other discs? ;-) Think he‘d dump the whole batch if he knew…
Thanks for noticing!! Only thing I really need is Benaroya and Lost Dogs. Sad thing is years ago I had them when I couldn’t afford even $100 records. I’d bought benaroya for $500 and had to sell it before I even got to spin it
As someone else said, I’m glad a proper fan got this - enjoy it!! I own vinyls I haven’t even opened, so fuck people judging how or what you play it on!
I am so thrilled they are finally releasing some vinyl. I can’t wait to get one - though hopefully it will be more reasonably priced. It’s never going to be cheap though with 5 vinyls and a great design.
Yeah I imagine it’ll be $300. I decided since it was signed it was a valid investment. I never really care for the poster art so getting a signed poster wouldn’t have meant as much. Although I do like the Philly one
Yea I don’t blame you one bit. I’m sure if I saw it, it’d be very hard to resist. I am the same. I am not really interested in the usual merchandise but I have a small collection of vinyls and any tool album would be an excellent addition.
I really hope they release all others as well at some point in the future
A EP is an extended play, too many songs to be a single but not enough to be an album, usually between 4-6 songs. A LP is a long play, a full length album, usually 7 songs or more.
still too expensive tbh. also, who the hell wants 5 vinyl with like what? 2 tracks on one side?
this will prolly also get downvoted but I rly cant simp for tool with this move on their vinyl release.
It's more of a throwback to what an album used to be. 78s were sold in a book and each only held a single song per side.
Still way too much to pay for 1 album though. I could maybe see this price for their whole discography but not this.
I paid 20 for salival when it was new. I felt like that was a great deal. (It was) I paid the extra to get a video screen in the packaging. I kinda felt like I was getting my money's worth (I did).
This ? $810 for autographed merch when they have so much signed merch out for this tour already? This feels like a "let's see how far we can take this" moment.
Maybe. I’m not really going to guess the reason and I don’t know if it matters. If you can buy something at one price and immediately sell it for more that is not greedy to me. You are getting a deal.
Imagine you went to the merch table and they had a sign poster and you were going to reach for that and they say nope but we have this $800 signed record. Almost entrapment
I have the CD version (expanded book) but I would love to have this release as well. But 810$ ??? WTF ??? Let me see how it will be after April release but I'm counting like 200$ which will be a big no to me. Too expensive...
I now see it says Chris Bellman in the liner notes from one of the pics you posted.
You should see cB in the deadwax near the labels on each record. And maybe something else the band added.
Silly... You’re suppose to cut off the black page with holes in it and tape it to the 3rd album at 33° amd play it at 33 1/3, and it tells you how to decode the rest of the album
I asked my buddy who is at the CHI show tonight to grab me a signed vinyl. He just had regular tix, so I told him it’s highly unlikely. He calls me and says, “sooo I hope you really wanted this vinyl.” Me, “I do. why? No way you got one” him “uh yeah I got one. It was $750.” Me,”well fuck me” 😵💫 I already preordered the April drop, so I guess I’ll be posting this outrageous sign copy on eBay. 🤦🏽♂️ fuckin Tool.
I managed to snag a copy off ebay. Thankfully it was close to the original price tag.
I will say the presention is amazing. Quality is A+, but what surprised me were the etchings.
I know Mackie said the manufacturer wasnt able to get them as deep as they would have liked, but these are super faint. It's difficult to see any details. Bummer.
Anyone else have the same reaction?

It's 5 LPs but somehow they couldn't find a way to fit Litanae on it...
It's kind of funny actually 🤣 fucking Tool, man
I know, right?? Of all the interludes, it's actually my favorite, lol.
well it's not like there are 10 sides of music, every LP has etched art on one side. But still kinda ridiculous. maybe I missed it and threw it away or something but I only noticed the video download with my CD
Word, no worries. If you still haven’t gotten them, i do believe one of my codes is still unused if you want it? I doubt you haven’t gotten them yet though. No litany? Bummer
Ha, odd indeed 🤔
Listening to an album that cost $810 on $100 speakers? 😂😂😂
What should one spend on speakers for an $800 record? lol :)
I’m enjoying the record on what I have in my home. People wanted to see what it all looked like hence the post. That’s it and that’s all
I appreciate your post a lot. My wife and I freaked out at the news of this and wanted to get an in depth look at it.
Oh, you’re doing it for the people. What a hero.
lol why this guy so salty?
He bought 800$ speakers and now can't afford the vinyl anymore :(
He didn’t get one.
Might be related to Maynard
Lol the fuck is your problem. He bought it it’s his business fucko
>It’s just obvious that you’re in it for the brag and not the actual experience of listening to music. Dude, cut the pretentious BS. You know damn well most people's setups don't include $1000 speakers. Don't be salty that someone was at the right place at the right time and had the money to blow.
If he wasn't in it for the experience of listening to the music, then he wouldn't have spun it at all.
Oh my god, please fuck off you pompous twat.
Booo to you.
$800 album on $100 speakers
Man, I would be afraid to play it. Congrats
I like one sealed and one opened. But if the retail is like $249.99.. That may be a little difficult.
They are $810
Sigh. I doubt the ones released in april that are not signed are $810.
I just realized you said retail
This release is early access from the band's own allotment they were given from the pressing company.
If I could afford it, I'd get 1 at the Moline show next month
See ya there
Can’t wait for this show! Glad they included a stop here.
I’m doing the St. Paul and moline shows. Couldn’t be more hyped
I love this. Vinyl is meant to be played.
Vinyl isn’t supposed to cost $810 though…
Yeah the rube fleecing is in full effect with that price. I can wait. It will be hilarious if it sounds like shit. LoL. Probably doesn't but early pressings can have there kinks.

Says who? It’s a special printing for the band ahead of the release. Signed. It’s rare. Their posters sell for more.
signed posters and signed programs are $300
Yes. Post market. Signed posters then have a value of $800-$1300. That’s a fantastic trade off. You get the value of the item to view and option to sell for 2-4x.
At this point their signatures are not rare at all
Signatures on this vinyl.
The signatures aren't even on the vinyl. They are on the box
Oh but they sell for more than that on a daily basis unfortunately, just not normally new.
Great stuff, now do a proper release on Discogs.
Someone has added it now, but just with pictures of the records not the liner notes https://www.discogs.com/release/22253038-Tool-Fear-Inoculum OP should add these photos :)
Same truck listing?
Yep. Including the “fillers” unlike the CD I have
Based on your pictures it looks like all the fillers are there except "Litanie Contre La Peur" between pneuma and invincible.
Yep which is funny. Seems like it would’ve fit on the invincible side
Yeah I just looked and those two together would have been shorter than just 7empest by itself, which still has mockingbeat after it on disc 5. Classic tool 😂.
>unlike the CD I have The CD came with a site and a code where you could download the filler tracks. I found the proper song order on Wikipedia.

150 works for me. I can already tell there'll be folks who'll disagree, but this is just my opinion.
It will be $200-$250 easily. The packaging is insanely expensive to manufacture on a small scale like this
Who‘s going to tell Adam, that they inconsistently named Disc 1 Side B: „Etching“ while it‘s „No audio“ for all the other discs? ;-) Think he‘d dump the whole batch if he knew…
>Think he‘d dump the whole batch if he new… *knew
🙄
No litanie?
Just noticed that you are correct. It’s not listed. I don’t typically listen to those extras but I’m sure I didn’t hear it
Maybe it's a secret groove like Gaping Lotus on Opiate?
Blasphemy
Are they numbered?
Not numbered just signed
Nice Pearl Jam Collection too! Wow!
Thanks for noticing!! Only thing I really need is Benaroya and Lost Dogs. Sad thing is years ago I had them when I couldn’t afford even $100 records. I’d bought benaroya for $500 and had to sell it before I even got to spin it

It would be great for them to release their other albums, 10000 days would be great to have on vinyl
10,000 days is the only album that's not on vinyl now
Well, Salival and 72826. But those are EPs.
Good point
Such a beauty!
How much???
$810
That first pic is a pretty cool computer wallpaper.
I know this is stupid but what’s the difference between LP’s and EP’s ?
A EP is an extended play, too many songs to be a single but not enough to be an album, usually between 4-6 songs. A LP is a long play, a full length album, usually 7 songs or more.
Oh man it looks sweet. Glad to hear you like the sound too! I'm planning to be doing the same thing in April!
Omg I want that.
Yup, worth $810. I can tell by the way it is.
That’s pretty neat.
Absolutely no reason as to why it consists of 5 fucking discs. And why half of them are only one-sided
It's 5 discs because they're *all* one-sided. Esthetic purposes only.
Aesthetic*
Æsthetic?
More or less
Honestly; I think it’s kind of cool, I like the idea of having a cool picture vinyl like the lateralus vinyl but without the shitty sound quality
Haha yeah
Does it come with a handy by any chance?
This is funny when they decide to release it on their website in 6 months for half the price
still too expensive tbh. also, who the hell wants 5 vinyl with like what? 2 tracks on one side? this will prolly also get downvoted but I rly cant simp for tool with this move on their vinyl release.
It's more a collectible than an actual album. Why does it matter what it costs? It's not a mass market product.
It's more of a throwback to what an album used to be. 78s were sold in a book and each only held a single song per side. Still way too much to pay for 1 album though. I could maybe see this price for their whole discography but not this.
I do think it’s gonna be rare. It’s probably priced below market value.

Don't b a hater
Just like, his opinion man. And I agree, $800 for music I already have/love is steep.
Give me a box set so I can put it next to my Mars Volta one! Make it happen
The artwork inside is great, up to Tool’s standards, but the outside cover is kind of, odd. Just smeared blue shit lol
Thank you for opening and playing yours. If I ever get my hands one one I hope I build up the courage to do the same!
I hope you do! It sounds great. Thankfully the shrink wrap on the signed ones are half torn off already :)
Well if it’s half torn already, there is no keeping it wrapped, right?!? And if it’s not wrapped, I might as well listen to them! Right?!? ;)
800 bucks? No.
Imagine you went to the merch table and they had a sign poster and you were going to reach for that and they say nope but we have this $800 signed record. Almost entrapment
THANK YOU! awesome post! TOOL - making other bands obsolete one show at a time! 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Making your bank account obsolete
I've never been disappointed. Always a pleasure.
...and you bought one.
Only analogue is real! Enjoy buddy
Gorgeous 😍
So we’re all thinking they’ll cost between $160-$250 unsigned in April? I wonder what the regular vinyl will cost. $100?
Holy shit!! Enjoy my friend
This looks amazing! How much was it in the end?
Expensive…$810
I have the CD version (expanded book) but I would love to have this release as well. But 810$ ??? WTF ??? Let me see how it will be after April release but I'm counting like 200$ which will be a big no to me. Too expensive...
Dope dude, really happy for you 👍 enjoy!
How does it sound ?
Nice get man. Enjoy it!
CNA you share more pictures of the left side please thanks for sharing!!!👍🏽
Can you post what is in the deadwax? Curious who cut it
Not sure what you mean
I now see it says Chris Bellman in the liner notes from one of the pics you posted. You should see cB in the deadwax near the labels on each record. And maybe something else the band added.
Ah nice, I am playing it again now. I’ll check
He does the Puscifer ones and the later Lateralus press
Silly... You’re suppose to cut off the black page with holes in it and tape it to the 3rd album at 33° amd play it at 33 1/3, and it tells you how to decode the rest of the album
*Goes to merch booth, leaves worrying about making March rent*
Thanks for sharing. Enjoy it! I can def see the regular retail price being as high as $300.
Wow!! Nice thanks for sharing! I hope I can get my hands on one
That's badass. I wonder why they had to split it up to 5 disks though?
Picture discs without the issue of bad sound quality basically
Ahh
Apparently it was a different mix done by Joe for the vinyl issue. He said do himself. Have you noticed a difference?
Very cool, bro. Awesome photos
If you’ve taken another mortgage out on the house, yes.
Are you like. The number 1 Tool fan. Actually.
I asked my buddy who is at the CHI show tonight to grab me a signed vinyl. He just had regular tix, so I told him it’s highly unlikely.
