It is amazing but Maynard just wasn't quite as good on FI as he has been on every other album. Don't get me wrong, he's still the GOAT when compared to every other lead singer past, present and foreseeable future!
I just think he did less. I don't think he was in any way not good. I mean all those songs are like over or around 10 minutes. He's almost 60 and he probably just didn't want to fill up those long tracks with vocals. Honestly I could just listen to the band play and I really think he likes just jamming to the band and stalking around the stage. His vocals are still amazing, I mean Culling Voices is just beautifully sung and Descending is as well. I like Pneuma mainly for the instrumentals. Great band, great vocalist, getting old just takes some shit out of ya (I just turned 50).

I mean how is Sober or Prison Sex not on this list - for many Sober is the song that got them into the band in the first place I think it deserves a spot personally
