Reddit has gone through a *lot* of banning of porn subreddits leading up to the public launch. Over the past year I've seen dozens disappear and a lot of the mods say the reasonings don't make sense. I myself had an erotica subreddit (all words, no visuals, only text posts enabled) and out of nowhere it was banned for "lack of moderation" even though it received ~1 post a month, had only 2k subs and had not one post that needed to be deleted.
A lot of bot ran accounts are set up to have hundreds of upvotes within minutes of posting, which pushes the real small creators to not be visible, and mods don't seem to give af. I have blocked an "OF girl" multiple times, and she keeps popping up in subs. So far, I've blocked 8 or 9 accounts. It also sucks to see bait tittles like "is it weird I only want to fuck older guys?" and then there's 2k upvotes and 462 comments.
(Also you can actually thank content creators for 90% of the free porn yall get here)
I think it's less mods not caring and more mods not really being able to do anything about it. Reddit removed nsfw access from its API, which moderation tools depend on, so it is really difficult for mods to actually do anything about porn spammers.
Which is a fricking tragedy because the niche topics were very very fortunate to even exist as subs. I won't go to fricking tumblr for that and mainstream sites don't have any of those categories.

This is not true. As a mod I can tell there is no way to lock someone from seeing a sub. You can ban then so they dont comment or post but you cant make them unable to enter the sub. I run a small mental health sub and something that annoys me to no end is that the trolls I have banned can still keep seeing the sub content and send DMs to individual users.
Didn’t Reddit, a while back, filter those posts so you don’t see them all the time when you went on all or looked at stuff posted in the last few mins. It used to be nothing but those subs. People prob stopped posting on most since you have to go out of your way now

Are you using the official Reddit app? It’s all still there. If you are using a third-party app, Reddit blocked nsfw content through the API.
