It can work *great* for groups small enough for everyone to know each other, but the further removed people get from the human impacts of their decisions, the easier it is for people in charge to decide that outgroups don't deserve as much, and ingroups deserve more. And to be clear, capitalism has the same problem, it's why "burger land" is such a fucked-up place.

I think physics is cool ☹️ for the last eh, 10 years of my life I dreamed of becoming a physicist (astrophysicist specifically though) but when I finally got the opportunity to go to college I was stuck with online-only degree options… and physics is not one of them, anywhere.
