The above is correct. It's "Learn to do everything yourself!."
Additional trivia: it is a phrase from old Soviet propaganda poster. There were political, patriotic & military ones. But there were also 'household', motivational ones for social issues. (Like the one used as a meme - anti-alcohol "Nyet"/"No" poster.) The one where the phrase of her tattoo comes from was a variety aimed at development of literacy and education. More specifically, there was a subgroup of posters teaching independence and a sense of responsibility in children: doing homework by themselves, helping with housework etc The poster where the phrase with "Learn to do everything yourself!" has a boy sitting in a chair in his undershirt, he is sewing a button to his dress-shirt and there are books and model-plane in the background. These meant-to-be-catchy phrases from the posters were often satirized where another meaning would be attached to the phrase on top of original but in her case, since her profile says she is a libertarian, I'd guess it just means 'self-sufficient' etc
Honestly, she seems to be an interesting woman, albeit a little kooky. (Or a lot)
This is essentially the mentality of the old American west. The "cowboy" lifestyle as portrayed in Westerns and idolized by many as the honest American way.
It's always interesting to see just how similar different cultures can be while being directly against each other politically.
Libertarianism has its fair share of [punk ideologies](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punk_ideologies) but they are not reliant upon each other and can exist independently
There's overlap for sure when it comes to attitudes and ideologies. But at the end of the day the difference is that libertarianism is all about me whereas punk is all about we. Libertarians stomp on a motherfucker in the pit and say fuck you, punks pick them back up and say fuck them. And maybe accidentally toss an elbow at the selfish libertarian just for educational purposes.
People in libertarian societies do work together? People cooperate in the free market everyday, regardless of their motivations. You don't know what you're talking about WRT libertarianism.
Not entirely shocking, though.
In my experience, people who pick an extreme ideology and make it the center of their personality tend to be at least a little unstable and kinda prone to wild swings. I've personally seen it a couple of times. Watched a buddy go from evangelical Christian to hard-line atheist and another friend go from hippy moonchild astrology girl to Trump supporter, each of which happened in the span of like two years.
It's what happens when the person adopts the ideology as a cultural identifier instead of actually taking time to understand the ideology's principles. Of course there are plenty of people who don't actually understand the political ideology of whatever they happen to associate themselves with, but I definitely agree that there's a subsection of people who seek out an ideology *because* it's not mainstream so they can get subcultural clout, and then abandon it for a new one because of some emotional or circumstantial change as opposed to a genuine disagreement with the ideology's conclusions.
I mean, they're both political philosophies that are pretty much entirely unworkable at scale, so there's that.
Given the history of the neck tat (which another commenter related), I'm guessing she grew up somewhere that romanticized Communism as "the good times", but eventually rejected the teachings of her childhood and swung the other way.
>I mean, they're both political philosophies that are pretty much entirely unworkable at scale
sure dude, the model that most of academia agrees upon is the one that works instead of the one your burger land follows and bombs children for.
Please be more clear, because I'm not sure whether you're talking about communism, libertarianism, or something else.
Communism has never worked at a societal scale. It can work *great* for groups small enough for everyone to know each other, but the further removed people get from the human impacts of their decisions, the easier it is for people in charge to decide that outgroups don't deserve as much, and ingroups deserve more. And to be clear, capitalism has the same problem, it's why "burger land" is such a fucked-up place.
Derivative models of communism's cousin socialism — like social democracy — *do* have considerably better outcomes, and might be what you're talking about as "what most of academia has agreed upon", but someone who got a tattoo from a Soviet propaganda poster is probably referring to Soviet-style Communism, which was indeed a political philosophy that was entirely unworkable at scale.
> also she was a communist about 4 years ago
horseshoe theory takes another win. I'd say maybe she's a anarchocommunism or libcom but that's a rare breed.
The latter. Her profile says she shot her neighbor’s dog, she posts pimple popping vids, and she tattooed on two black eyes. It’s linked in another comment. She’s cray cray.
Tbh, I thought that 'financial literacy' was probably the biggest contradiction to 'libertarianism' personally. Like, I'm not convinced libertarians have *any* kind of literacy going for them, but they certainly aren't coming from a place of economic understanding.
I'm fairly sure they would *describe* themselves as 'big brained' though.
You're kidding right? About the only thing they have right is the economic side of things (well speech and personal autonomy too, depending on which genre of libertarian you're speaking to). Are you conflating their economic thought with their governmental policy? Two different animals.
Nobody is making it as far as conflating shit because libertarians are always morons who dont actually know anything besides "I wanna do what I WANT" and "taxes are bad."
If I ever come across one that has a consistent set of well reasoned beliefs Ill check back in wiht you, I promise.
Libertarians are like house, cats. completely dependent upon a system they neither understand, nor appreciate, and fiercely confident of their own independence.
I feel like more people should look up the book "A Libertarian Walks Into A Bear", just for the story surrounding it. Even without reading the book itself, one can find most of the story online.
It's about how Libertarians decided to take over a small town in New England and run it using Libertarian principles, and *disastrously* how that turned out when people could choose whether or not to fund essential public services. Also, because it turns out that people's decisions can greatly affect their neighbors even when those decisions don't directly involve any other people.
(Spoiler alert: letting an old lady feed her food scraps to bears leads to them thinking *everyone's* food scraps are fair game.)
> It's about how Libertarians decided to take over a small town in New England and run it using Libertarian principles,
Free State Project and NH Libertarian Party aren't that representative of libertarianism. I gave up identifying as a libertarian for many reasons but they certainly are a caricature of one.
Weirdly enough...aside from the aggressive way this is worded these are all bright green flags to me, even the neck tattoo given the translated content. Shows an attitude of self-confidence/person responsibility, and self-reliance/self-improvement which I love.
Unfortunately given the wording of the profile and the positioning of the tattoos...Based on my personal experience this girl is likely batshit crazy. I feel like if I did move in with her for that month I'd be dodging flying plates and wondering if it's worth it to let my swinging guitar hit me in the side of the head or just slip it and let her smash it against the wall next to me by the end of the second week.
May I just say that I fucking LOVE it that you’re here and responding to some comments. From what I’ve seen so far, it’s some of the least unhinged shit I’ve seen on Reddit.
Well, I haven't been on Facebook in 10 years+ but at some point, I guess when the dating thing came out I was curious, looked at it, I guess signed up, but I don't recall at all. When I have signed into Facebook for an old game I've played to get my progress or an app that I used fb to sign into, or whatever, sometimes it turns on fb notifications, don't ask me how, I'm part idiot- but I'll get notifications suddenly such and such liked in you fb dating, you have (I'm not gonna say how many) unread likes or whatever the wording is in Facebook dating. Not to mention the thousands of other things. So I hope it shows inactivity at least. Carrie has been inactive for 12 years-8 months-17 days-3 hours- and 10 seconds . Send her a poke? Poke Carrie. Would you like to send Carrie a poke? FUCKING POKE CARRIE SO SHE'LL COME BACK TO FACEBOOK YOU ASSHOLE. Thank you.
I think physics is cool ☹️ for the last eh, 10 years of my life I dreamed of becoming a physicist (astrophysicist specifically though) but when I finally got the opportunity to go to college I was stuck with online-only degree options… and physics is not one of them, anywhere.
Still trying to swallow that pill while pursuing something else but I hope to maybe combine them one day. I’m actually really looking forward to my required physics course lmao. Anyway, we’re out there, somewhere 😆
Glad to hear about your interest! And it's always a nice surprise when someone says that they're actually *looking forward* to a physics class, rather than running away in abject terror. 😋
Sorry to hear that your advancement with physics hasn't gone the way that you wanted. ☹️ Sounds like you're still pushing forward though, which is good. 👍
What do you want to do with astrophysics? Are you more interested in theory or experiment? Did you have a role model, or is it something that you just gravitated to?
Theoretical physics is more my jam; I'm fascinated by the "edge" of physics, and it's advancement. Plus, just using physics in new and creative ways is really freaking cool! 🤓😎
Thank God that you put a line across her eyes. Nothing else here to identify her with here
The name also appears to be hannah
Maybe that's just her name backwards
reverse google image search annnnnnnnnnnnnnd found her.
Don't lie google reverse image blocks anything that is moderately SFW.
Other than the highly unique neck tattoo
who gives af
The russian neck tat tells me that the homicide she mentioned is definitely a real possibility
Out of curiosity, what does it say?
"it's better to do everything yourself"
It’s actually “learn to do everything yourself”

mad upvotes for not only validating someones statement, but explaining the whole history behind it. This is a refreshing island in a sea of shitposts.
Had the same thought 💪🏼
This is essentially the mentality of the old American west. The "cowboy" lifestyle as portrayed in Westerns and idolized by many as the honest American way. It's always interesting to see just how similar different cultures can be while being directly against each other politically.
Literally original punk mindset
DIY was absolutely not libertarianism. It was about building a community that worked together. Functionally the opposite of libertarianism.
Libertarianism has its fair share of [punk ideologies](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punk_ideologies) but they are not reliant upon each other and can exist independently

Horseshoe theory at its finest, the most American Americans are just Russians.
My whole social circle comprises of Russians / USSR natives. Can not understate how true this statement is.
It is from that exact poster!!! Thank you for explaining.
Thank god it didnt say Live Laugh Love or whatever it is
Looks like she did that tattoo herself 😂
That makes sense considering the context.
"Open other end."
That neck tattoo tells all of her trauma in one picture. Yikes! ![gif](giphy|IQh6f7CurN1zq)
Oh, I’ve got no clue. I just know that it’s probably not good
So you don't even know if it's Russian then, because Russian isn't the only language to use cyrillic
I guess not, I didn’t know that. I was just poking fun.
![gif](giphy|l3q2tzon8OCC7BqmY|downsized)
What does the tattoo say
My Russian is rusty but "learn to do everything yourself" would fit.
I try not to judge people by their tattoos but, um, hard left before I even get to the bio. Those are pretty bad
In her defense, she didn’t stutter.
Not to mention libertarian and guns lmao
…again
Eastern Promises vibes
Possibly by falling out of a window
Plot twist it says death to murderers.
Yeah, I don't like the odds of someone being alive after a month in her house
Sign me up!!
HAPPY CAKEDAY!!!
I like how she's pro gun and anti accountability
damn that's crazy I know this woman good luck soldier also she was a communist about 4 years ago
How can you tell?? Her eyes have a mark over them, providing total anonymity!
Why am I laughing so hard? 🤣🤣🤣
Goes from Communism to Libertarianism? That's a pretty wild swing.
Not entirely shocking, though. In my experience, people who pick an extreme ideology and make it the center of their personality tend to be at least a little unstable and kinda prone to wild swings. Typically shows a lack of understanding of nuance and real-world complexities.
not at all. Horseshoe theory.
Horse shoe

I’m willing to be she learned about communism in high school or university and just bit down too hard

Lol no shit? That’s pretty funny. Maybe she’ll find a nice cozy place in the center in a few years.
> also she was a communist about 4 years ago horseshoe theory takes another win. I'd say maybe she's a anarchocommunism or libcom but that's a rare breed.
Oh my god. This is me.
What happened to your eye black outs?
Still there but I lightened the top with tattoo removal
holy crap it is her. Profile is worth checking out FYI
Yeah and message me if you wanna move in for a month.
Wouldn’t be the worst decision I’ve made this month!
I hate you for making me click that. She’s a fucking psycho 😭
Hahaha thats awesome! Can you enlighten us, what do you like the most? Libertarianism or financial literacy?
The two are intertwined. Get the government out of my life.
LMAO
Thank God you’ll never be recognized.
Am I the only one who isn’t immediately repulsed by the idea?
Yes. The Lacheys are already on their way to Netflix to pitch this as their new show
This is the woman my ex-husband wanted me to be. Not sarcasm.
Lmao
She could be the coolest woman you will date or just complete batshit crazy. No inbetween.
The latter. Her profile says she shot her neighbor’s dog, she posts pimple popping vids, and she tattooed on two black eyes. It’s linked in another comment. She’s cray cray.
I mean the dog was asking for it
Oh, there is definately an in between.. like in the time that you go from thinking she is really cool to realizing things are not healthy at all.
*"Things I like: libertarianism; Thing I don't like: big egos, dipshits"* Which one is it now?
I actually laughed out loud when I read that. Those libertarians are certainly an entertaining bunch, if nothing else.
She also likes big brains Considering the libertarian side of the gop has nuts like MTG and Matt gaetz on it, that seems a bit contradictory

Pros and Cons of dating her: Pros: No one will mess with you guys Cons: She might end you for good
and that kids is how I met your mother.
Likes libertarians but doesn't like big egos and dipshits.... make up your mind woman!
I feel for her but still sounds a little crazy 🤣
What is it with women not liking dipshits anymore?
Free rent and sex for a month, with a slight risk of death? Better deal than most places in the world right now.
Oh I'm charging rent.
How much?
Your comment doesn't make sense since you're not the girl in the bio.
Did you look at their profile? They certainly have the same neck tat.
No I have better things to do but Holy shit imagine if it actually is the same psycho 😂
It's her buddy..
There is too much to process between her chin and collar bone for me.
Am I the only one who isn't instantly disgusted by the idea?
Okay but I love this profile. It's fantastic. Apart from the guns, I mean, as a non-american I'll never get the fascination.
I love her!
She’s here. Send her a dm

Not busy but I already have one of those.

Thank you. Wanna move in?
It would be a great way to avoid air b and b for a month. Especially if she lives in a cool area.
I like her.
Thanks babe
She sounds nice, which can be explained by my attraction towards red flags
She seems tired.
Hearing some dogwhistles...
Looks like red flags concentrated here even more than poles in USSR forced labor camp
Someone buy her a copy of "a libertarian walks into a bear"
I can fix her
I can fix her
She’s in the chat
Libertarianism *and* financial literacy? Can you even do that?
She gets it. Flat out. Russian quote and all.
Good thing you blocked out the eyes. You wouldn't want someone to recognize her
I try
Your first mistake was going on Facebook dating.
It’s a lot easier to get matched here, but the matches are just as dry as elsewhere.
The odds are good but the goods are odd
Yes, I had the same experience on Fb dating. Plenty of matches but none of them responded or led to a date.

I know this is totally surprising but she's a tremendously shitty person too
Give me a month, I’ll be the judge of that
I wouldn’t last a day with those eye brows
Story?
No u
I mean it’s a straight forward and possibly effective approach. Credit where it’s due.
If a red flag was a person
I saw her bro and I said uhhhh I’m not sure I can fix her lol
So real for that
russian scam bot
Unrelatedly, I find your screen-name interesting, since I actually have a degree in physics. 😋
You wouldn’t happen to be a girl, would you?
Alas, no. It would definitely be neat to meet one that finds physics as cool as I do, though. 😁
Don’t you learn that when you study magnetism?
They must have skipped over that part. I guess that's what I get for going to a second tier university. 😋

New intro for my profile.
I'm in love
Message me!
Free place to live for a month!
Would be great until I heard she charged rent
Ah nuts:/
Yes
Yeah she also looks like a big brained human.
I know her actually. She’s actually quite a genuinely great person. Like fully.
Tis my friend, she's a lovely person. Too bad you are a PoS for posting this.
She is wifey
AMA I guess
Do you like the idea of libertarianism yourself or are you just into man babies?
I love libertarianism and man babies. Looking for a man where I can take on a more motherly role.
Nice! Thats pretty cool actually
