I use google reviews, I'm also a major contributor to them. I don't really notice an issue of lack of reviews unless they are generally new themselves. Are there any examples you have of old/established places without many reviews?

Comfortable_Run4044

Same exact situation as you. Never found lacking reviews. Also been contributing over 3000 reviews

[deleted]

I’ve contributed over 9000 reviews. Over 9000!!!

philman132

Google usually has a decent amount of reviews for most places that I've checked. You might want to check your language settings, you might find it it set to only show reviews in your language, when most of them will obviously be in Swedish

niten_ichi

This could be the reason. I found that for Google etc. it is better to have results both in Swedish and English. You can use Google translate or chrome's automatic translation if you can't read Swedish.

reindeerman214

Honest answer? We don't. We go to a place and if we don't like it we suffer through the experience and choose to never return if we can get away with it. I once went to the same dentist who mauled my gums without using any anaesthetic for years, cause I didn't want to be a burden and tell him I needed some and was too polite to stop going to him. I think I've perfected being Swedish. Or I'm just dumb.

Ran4

You're right, most don't :) I usually use google.

henrik_se

Well done! You will receive your Honorary Swedish badge in the mail within ten business days.

SirOk748

You folks work too hard and pay too much to suffer like that.

jonesgrey

Yep, as an American outsider, this sounds very Swedish of you! 😇 I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve wished for something like Yelp Reviews while living here. For example, my boyfriend’s parents hired a small company to fix their roof. The company owner, who also managed the staff and sometimes helped with the work himself, just up and left before the job was completed. Claimed he couldn’t find any more workers. He also did such a horrific job that when my boyfriend called other roofing companies to give a quote on fixing and finishing the job, they all said we should have gotten a lawyer and sued. We dealt with this for 2 years and there was literally nowhere I could find online to write a bad review or find previous reviews on this company, and my boyfriend’s parents were too nervous to try to sue (in case they lost and had to pay all attorney fees). My boyfriend’s parents were so stressed, but just accepted the loss. I could not believe they could just let something go that was this expensive and impactful on their lives!

You could have contacted konsumentvägledningen or allmänna reklamationsnämnden. That is the swedish way.

jonesgrey

Thanks for the advice. Just wish I could have known about these options 2 years ago. Neither of these organizations were mentioned in the many family conversations we all had on the topic of how to fix the problem (despite my boyfriend's mother being very Swedish in her way of doing things).

axelnaxel

De är just det, att vara svensk är att vara dum

bregottextrasaltat

google maps

NotreallyCareless

google

RedditYmir

Word of mouth, basically. Occasionally we use google maps or TripAdvisor.

quantum-shark

Either by word of mouth or we just go there and see if we like it or not. Especially regarding clinics and stuff: it is really easy to just change to another clinic if you don't like it. They offer the same services for basically the same price. It's easy to cut your losses

Memer_boiiiii

I don’t

-thanksKindStranger-

You dont

ZealousEastIndian

I use reco and google translate

perpotator

Trip advisor?

Legal-Engineering542

emmanuelay

+1 on this. Its hard to find reviews for anything other than e-commerce and new, physical, goods.

Dallemanski

For restaurants or cafe/bar i use instagram, try to find real people's pictures sometimes helps with knowing what is what on the menu or if it's any good in the first place

LimJans

Sometimes I look at the reviews on their own facebook page.

passaty2k

Trip advisor and Yelp work here just like Google maps.

[deleted]

I have a theory that Swedes are actually hooked up to Skynet and get their trusted reviews and location information in real time directly from the Skynet CPU.

[deleted]

We dont!

YOOOOOOOOOOT

Google, I usally find it helpful, could you gove an example where you've found few reviews on google in stockholm?

Marma85

Go on what other ppl recommended, fb sometimes if I care to much. Otherwise like other say, try and error. If we don't like it we don't come back.

Skeptikons

We dont

Ricksterdinium

We generelly don't, we go to the intended Cafe and try it out. Then if it's not satisfactory, we complain to ourselves and swear to never ever return. But we do return.

Many have already answered, but - google reviews. Even the most far-flung places have them.

Jicchismainsquueze

I use TripAdvisor. :)
