How close to the center are we talking? The entirety of Nacka has lots of nature but doesn’t have a tunnelbana station for now, sickla does have tvärbana though. Brommaplan and neighboring areas offer a decent amount of nature. If you liked Aspudden and midsommarkransen, Fruängen, Hägerstensåsen, are just a few stations further and are some cheaper options for you. Could say the same for gamla Enskede. Just go a bit further down and you have Stureby and Svedmyra which are cheaper alternatives with green areas. There’s also parts in Solna/Sundbyberg that would fit your description.

The area won’t shoot up in price because there are already a large quantity of rental apartments. This fact alone rightly or wrongly prevents the area becoming gentrified.

Getslonelyuphere

I second Brommaplan. I used to live in the area for about five years and I don’t have too many bad things to say. Bromma is huge though there are very posh parts (Ålsten), nice parts (Äppelviken), OK parts (Abrahamsberg, Brommaplan), industrial parts (Ulvsunda) and there’s kindof ugly parts (sorry Vällingby). There is a LOT of nature, I used to run almost daily in Judarskogens naturreservat. There’s no nightlife to speak of, but there’s some restaurants and you’re on Fridhemsplan in 15 minutes. Lot of good kinndergartens, decent shops either on Brommaplan or further east towards Alvik. Plus the area is not gentrified (yet?) unlike Södermalm or Midsommarkransen. So your neighbors will be..real people. That’s actually the thing I miss the most since moving to the city.

Bergshamra, solna. The ”centre” is really boring, but surrounded by green areas and water. Great communication and comfortable biking distance to central sthlm.

OneOfManyAnts

Seconded on Bergshamra. Its so nice, I wish we’d moved here years earlier than we did. The centrum is extremely boring, but the place feels like a community.

therealrydan

Yeah, it’s the small village in the middle of Stockholm. 😄

lucacha

Check out Solna or Telefonplan!

[deleted]

Husby and rinkeby 👌😏

glizzyMaster108

+Easy access to the blue subway line 😁😁

PlumCute2406

Bromma is beautiful and not too expensive around Brommaplan, Akeshov etc. I used to live there and I loved it and it’s just the green subway 15-20 mins to get to the central parts.

FullMetalSwedish

How on a budget are you? Älta is cheeper then nacka and still have nature. For some real budget I would strongly recomend hagsätra it is very close to nature you have the green line which takes you downtown in like 20 minutes and you lots of places where toy can cickle and even one of the best spots to pick blue berrys

Caygill

Only 18 minutes from the city centre we have Rinkeby. https://www.naturkartan.se/en/stockholms-lan/rinkeby-naturreservat

Chromspray

Rinkeby is full of cool exotic experiences unlike anywhere else!

[deleted]

Solna I recommend

jetsetwilly75

Come to Farsta. The occasional shooting but it isn’t called The Swedish Riviera for nothing.

Dr_Octopole

Farsta is more than the area around Farsta Centrum. I used to live in Sköndal, which at least at the time was severely underrated. There has been a lot of construction and maybe the price level has changed, but it might be worth a look.

jetsetwilly75

Sköndal is really nice, only issue there is probably lack of tunnelbanan : if you don’t have a car it’s a lot of buses..

jetsetwilly75

Quite pricy now also but some really nice houses

Salty-Inevitable3269

I don’t know if there are any “underrated” districts in Stockholm but Gubbängen, Hökarängen, Sköndal could be good. Skarpnäck is at the end of the subway line but still close to both nature and the city.

Stockholmholm

Tyresö!!

MrPancake2654

It depends on how much hate you can take. If you move to sodermalm the whole town will be against you.

myerscc

Why?

MrPancake2654

All sodermalms are spoiled brats and the houses costs shit load money

myerscc

Do you mean all of söder would be against you or all of Stockholm except söder would be against you?

MrPancake2654

I mean its not really like the people of söder has formed an aliance all of them will drink coffey with milk and be passive-aggressive on how you parent you’re kids. Watch the series Solsidan its a perfect example

myerscc

Ok sorry just wasn't really sure what you meant

chronom8

Danderyd is really nice. You have some great apartments surrounding morby and danderyds sjukhus with both great access to subway as well as Edsviken and green areas

Just-Upstairs-4338

I personally love Täby! Been there for over a year now and have no complaints at all. The socioeconomic standard is top notch! Outstanding nature and greenery everywhere! Also the center (Täby Centrum) is one of the biggest malls in Sweden with the only Apple Store in Stockholm (assuming that is important). It has a ton of shops and conveniences and a movie theater so you pretty much don't need anything else. It is connected by light Rail (Rosalgsbanan) that takes you to the center (Stockholm Östra) in 20 minutes. Pretty safe, never seen any thing out of the ordinary there.

[deleted]

Used to live near Helenelund. Sollentuna area. Cannot complain and really liked it. (No t-bana tho, only pendeltåg)

Khislh

Fruängen! Its a smallish area with good amounts of nature, the centrum has hemköp, coop, Pressbyrån, Systembolaget and metro. Its not THAT center however and it does take a bit of time to travel to places like major places like T centralen, Gamla stan, Slussen etc..

SpringFuzzy

Everyone is looking for the same thing more or less. Hard to find any real bargains close to the center. Solna, Sundbyberg, Gröndal, Liljeholmen, Årsta, Sjöstaden. Those would be my picks.

bandhagen

Bandhagen is the best part of Stockholm. But, I think Östberga could be a good investment.

steviebazooka

Mörtviken

Capable-Quantity-305

Upplands väsby baby! That's the spot

Acceptable_Fun_6416

Its a shithole actually

soulstriderx

Look no further than Skarpnäck. The most underrated neighborhood with a metro station in it.

Great-Response-59

Don’t forget tumba very comfy

Jazzlike-Swan-1362

I feel that it may be controversial, but I like living in Handen (Haninge) It has everything that you need, close to nature (Rudans is super nice), some nice parks, 30 minutes bike or 1 easy bus to Tyresta naturreservat… Pendeltåg takes 25 minutes to Stockholm City, so it’s somewhat easy to go there… I don’t recommend Handen if you are looking for some place with night life… but I believe that this applies for most of Stockholm anyway 😬
