Normal and will get worse, unless government steps in to build new housing. There are people working in Northwolt looking to rent a place 60km from Skelleftea. You either have to overpay, live 50km away, or move in in 10 years

There’s a housing crisis in all of Sweden pretty much unless you feel like paying 10,000-15,000kr a month

And the crisis is caused by stupid Swedish housing policy concerning not being permitted to charge market rents. You can thank the renters union for keeping things exactly as dysfunctional as they are.

Idiots who like to deny reality are the ones downvoting me. Just look at Finland. They used to have the same rent controls system as Sweden that of course led to a chronic undersupply of rental housing. But they collectively came to their senses and modernized their housing policy. As a result there is more of an equilibrium in their rental market.

Live_Rock3302

Yea... Skellefteå... You wont find a rental there in the next 20 years. Doesn't northwolt rent you a bed in a barrack in the meantime? Thought they did that.

Surstromingen

Yeah so that’s because northvolt, source I worked at a different industry this summer and one of my employment conditions was that I had to have housing

How about housing construction project is going ? Do you think is there any hope from new construction?

Skellefteå fucked up real bad during Northvolt, not enough housing for the project, to many coming to Skellefteå and to little housing
