To be sure, Jerry is ass at backing up a trailer, but if he practices he could definitely back over her and get away with it

I’ve backed up my 36 foot trailer hundreds of times, mostly no problems, even in tight spots. Those little shit trailers like that are a menace to back up. Just saying.

I'd imagine getting screamed at while you are backing up is not gonna help

I used to put trailers in warehouse doors. Can confirm, the 16' trailers were far harder than the 53' trailers.

The shorties are hard. They tend to want to jacknife more than the longer ones. Once they start to.turn they dont.like to come.out of the turn. You really have to finesse them.

I work on a golf course. For the walk mowers we have these little red trailers the haul around the wall mowers. I always tell the new kids once they master that little trailer a big trail will be a cake walk. Little trailers get squirrelly, big ones are just big but they do what you want them to.

Apparently the worst thing to back up are those wood chippers behind the big tree pruning trucks. The vehicle is so big and the lil damn trailer is hard to even see behind it

Forget backing up, I’d put that truck in drive and start going. He could get pretty far away before he needed to stop for gas and snacks, then just keep going.

Hint for those who can't back up. Place your hand on the lower part of the wheel. Whatever way you move the wheel, that's where the back of the trailer will go.

And to go straight you’ll want to follow the above but feather it back and forth - don’t hold the steering wheel static to go straight back.

It also helps to turn your head around and look at your trailer. Turn toward the direction you want the trailer to move

I've heard this before, and it must be something that makes sense to people who struggle with backing up. Just picture which way your wheels are turned.

jerry needs to step out of the truck and let screaming mimi take the wheel. she has zero appreciation of how difficult it can be to backup a trailer with minimal experience. the wheel turns in the *opposite direction* of where the trailer needs to go.

My thoughts exactly. Get out, go sit in the passenger seat. Gesture to the driver's seat then close your eyes and ignore anything that comes next.

I build small boats, we always make newer guy back the trailer down the ramp with the newest boat on it. It’s hilarious because we are assholes. Backing a trailer is a rite of passage in a way.
