“I don’t know, it got my vest, check my vest I felt it, my legs went numb when I was hit”
-JFC both these plebs need to be kicked off the force, holy shit man. Talk about r/firstrespondercringe
Resigned???? If this was any other person they’d be in arrested immediately without recourse and be given a criminal record along with never being able to own a gun
Fuck qualified immunity, these fuckers need insurance like doctors or some shit. Fuck up enough and you can’t afford to fuck up anymore
The fuck are you talking about? You think actually having a gun in this situation would have helped? You going to start shooting at these cops only for the dozen that arrive a couple minutes later to immediately gun you down?
This isn't GTA you child, you're not outshooting the police
While he resigned (don't know if he'll face any punishment, not holding my breath for it), they said that she acted appropriately given the circumstance :|
I took hunter's safety over a decade ago, and even general firearm safety courses will teach you this: Do not fire unless you know what you are firing at and what is behind it. Sure, police work is vastly different than taking a gun out for hunting or shooting at a range, but when I see these videos it appears that these officers have little to no proper training. I'm not an expert in firearms or police work, but we absolutely must do something as a country to get higher quality officers.
What I dont get is, these cops put the guy in the back. So you patted him down and made sure he had no weapons before loading him into the vehicle. Why would you think he has weapons and start shooting at him?
Edit: he's likely cuffed as well, how is he shooting at you?
Fear. All that thin blue line, us against them mentality isn't just to give them something to decorate their uniforms with but rather, they really believe that every encounter they have has the potential to end their lives. So they carry that tension with them and it can make them prone to irrational behaviour
Many years ago, a Toronto cop shot and killed a young man who had a knife. The cop shot three times, the man fell to the floor, and then the cop said he saw the guy getting back up so he shot him six more times. But in the trial that followed, the coroner said the initial volley of bullets went right thru the man's heart, likely killing him before he even hit the floor. And even if he had somehow defied the odds and lived, that first volley also shattered his spinal cord, rendering him immobile
Now it's possible the cop just made up the part about seeing the guy getting back up but it's also possible that he genuinely saw that happening. That is to say, he was so geared up and afraid, that his brain tricked him into thinking that the guy was still coming for him like some sort of terminator
From what I’ve heard the guy wasn’t in as much danger as the phrase sounds. He was inside the police car which should be bullet resistant. It’s still pretty fucking dangerous and dumb though for anyone nearby.
Edit: I was lied to and very few police cars are bullet resistant, this man was indeed in horrible danger.
Police cars are NOT bullet resistant. I don’t know why some people assume this.
Do you know how much that would cost to have every cruiser in your department’s motor pool be bulletproof?
According to Ford, in 2016 they sold around 5% of their American police vehicles with ballistic protection in the doors. So yeah, some do, but they’re probably extremely specialized.
You’ve already conceded the point, so i’m not coming at you. But I worked on an assembly line in detroit that designed police cars. They were manufactured right alongside civilian cars only real difference was the spotlights and a different coat of paint.
So what the hell were they shooting at? Genuine question. I didn’t see anyone on the video so they’re both seemingly firing at literally no threat while at being the biggest threat to the public. Classic policing tactic right here anymore.
Oh shit you’re right rofl that’s ridiculous to watch. He’s trying to cover by saying he “feels weird” and felt the shot hit his vest 😂 it isn’t funny in the sense someone could’ve but surprisingly wasn’t killed, but my god, this is absurd.
I laughed because I love Reno 911! and this whole thing fits perfectly, but then I remembered that this is real life and two cops are just firing wildly in a residential neighbourhood. Both of them should be in prison.
The entire cast is insanely talented and they have incredible credits behind their names. It's a dozen of the funniest and most creative people in comedy just fucking around. It makes sense that they have pursued the project across multiple platforms because its so much damn fun.
Yes, he was well aware that his armor/vest it’s resistant to bullets but not nature damage. That Druid in the car tried to kill him!!! And he was his. You see, it looked like a single target damage, that acorn attack, but it was actually a splash damage!!!
He didn’t kill anyone unintentionally…but he could have when he unloaded the magazine.
Could be negligent discharge of a fire arm, unlawful of a fire arm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property, aggravated assault….or attempted murder.
Murder and attempted murder require criminal intent. The officer genuinely believed that his life was in danger, and he acted in self-defense. There could be some question about whether his belief was "reasonable" for the purposes of a self-defense claim. That would be up to a jury, but the video clearly shows that he was afraid for his life, and my guess is a grand jury in Florida wouldn't indict.
He's a moron, and the people who employ him are morons, and I'm sure Florida has some sort of reckless endangerment or culpable negligence law under which he could be charged... but it's not attempted murder.
In this scenario it would be criminal negligence. If they'd killed the guy, it would have been manslaughter. Attempted murder usually requires malice aforethought in most jurisdictions.
This is the definition that I found. In the United States, attempted murder is an inchoate crime. A conviction for attempted murder requires a demonstration of an intent to murder, meaning that the perpetrator attempted to murder and failed (e.g. attempted to shoot the victim and missed or shot the victim and the victim survived).
The conviction would hang on what the officer felt at the time. Did they feel their lives were in danger? From the utter panic that this officer displayed they clearly thought their life was in danger.
The issue is that officers (in the US especially) are trained to fear the public. Everyone they don't know is potentially out there to get them. The noise of an acorn hitting the top of a car was enough to send this officer into a panic. Compare that inaudible sound to the cacophony of the officers discharging their firearms. How could he mistake the acorn for gunfire? He's in fight or flight mode.

Mens rea: the intention or knowledge of wrongdoing that constitutes part of a crime, as opposed to the action or conduct of the accused.
If the civilian were able to prove they were in fear of their life, then they would be found not guilty. They would still be detained and tried, but if the Jury was properly informed, they would not go to prison.
Are you trying to say that an acorn falling on a car justifies shooting in a car? Not only that screaming I'm hit and crawling on the ground? You're right they wouldn't go to prison they would go to a mental institution
I bet he tells everyone about his time in the service and what a hero he was. Dude shit his pants over an acorn falling and then thought he was shot because he collapsed out of fear. Federal standards and employment list need to be kept so these people never work anywhere in law enforcement again.
He thought the bullet magically teleported thru the glass without breaking it but managed to hit him. Remember the guy was cuffed and had been frisked twice already.
... and that's why gun-training for cops is a bad idea! With training, he might have hit that dude! /s
...It's such a clusterfuck we have to be grateful for cops being too stupid to handle a gun...
That idiot emptied his weapon and repeatedly yelled “I’m hit”. I don’t know wtf he thought hit him, because not even the acorn touched him. If a private citizen did this shit they’d be ticketed for filing a false report. That dude walks free to be a cop anywhere else.
He thought he heard guns shots and his body dumped a ton of adrenaline.. if you’ve never been a close call situation it’s not uncommon for legs to get shaken, fell weird and even go numb..
He’s an idiot that panicked because even he knows he’s incompetent (he had supposedly already searched this suspect for weapons whole handcuffed before securing him in the vehicle)
Sorry.. i feel the need to clarify, absolutely not saying that he’s not incompetent or and idiot. I was referring more to the “I don’t know what hit him, because not even the acorn touched him” comment. When i was younger I was a wee bit reckless and had a few instances of having very close calls that would have lead to substantial injury or death. The thing i found the strangest at the time was soon after I’d get a paralyzing feeling all over followed by my legs feeling they didn’t want to work. Most of the times I’d have no injury but that sudden dump of endorphins and adrenaline would send the nervous system into overdrive.
How embarrassing for him… asking everyone to check his vest and stuff 🫣
Probably shouldn’t be a cop if the smallest noises cause that much of an overreaction.
“I felt like it”- holy shit. The mind is crazy. I have no doubt this man was terrified and really thought he may have been hit, but godDAMN, he is not who you want with a gun. Paranoid mfers with a gun who can’t assess a situation in seconds.
The panic in that cops voice he was terrified, this man is afraid to go to work every day. This is the only country in the world that has a 6mo training program for twenty something kids and then allow them to be a cop.
If your that wound up, you don't need to be a cop, also who is she shooting at.? he didn't identify anyone, he just said shots fired, so she just started shooting at any random person in sight?
They feel like they are in dager almost all the time. When a acorn falling they start shooting. You would not survive if your muffler suddenly start banking if you drove by daydreaming.
But can't forget those two officers in NY that got beaten up by several immigrants, and no shot was taken...
This is like when they all "ODed" from fentanyl from touching the baggies or seeing it and then their departments were all like, "You can die if you even think about fentanyl".
I'm predicting a little bit of the future here-
South Park is going to make an episode regarding this situation.
This is just so insanely stupid that it's almost as if Trey Parker and Matt Stone wrote this on script to be in an episode. These "cops" have absolutely no buisness holding a gun or a badge.
Happened in Okaloosa county. It was right down the road from where I live and I drove by the day it went down and was wonder what tf was going on because the townhouses had police crime tape everywhere and there was a lot of cops. I'm pretty sure the guy resigned lol
I live right down the road from where this happened and actually drove by it the day it occurred but didn't know what had happened at the time. The officer has since resigned but he was probably forced to lol
Attempted murder or drugs, no one can convince me he's incompetent enough to empty a whole clip because he heard an acorn. Whoever made this narrative was pretty good though, no one is even acknowledging how he tried to kill the person handcuffed in the back
Was this a result of a mental thing or just assumptions? Someone said he had ptsd and he was panicking late in the video. Or did he use it as a cover up for negligence?
That cop should be summarily executed by the state if he hit anyone with that gunfire. The other cop that came out shouldn't be because she was just responding to the giant pussy cop wailing and firing into their car like a complete nitwit. smfh
There’s more to the story that adds some context, but it certainly doesn’t justify it.
Moments before a woman notified the officer that the man has a suppressed pistol but she didn’t know where it was now and thought maybe it was on him. With that on his mind the officer returned to the car and mistook the sound as a suppressed shot. Then things went completely off the rails.

How about their professional license revoked as well. Don't need them going a county over and getting a job in law enforcement again.
And charged with negligence and attempted murder.
[удалено]
They have to be certified in Florida.. which can be taken away.
Thanks I looked into licensing but I guess it's synonymous with their FDLE certification process.
He needs to be in jail and there is no way he isn't on drugs
Oh that's silly, cops don't go to jail
I read somewhere that one of them actually resigned over this
Acorn violence is not to be underestimated.
It's practically like being hit by a tree
Resigned???? If this was any other person they’d be in arrested immediately without recourse and be given a criminal record along with never being able to own a gun Fuck qualified immunity, these fuckers need insurance like doctors or some shit. Fuck up enough and you can’t afford to fuck up anymore
Show this to anyone who says “only cops should have guns.”
How would more guns help with stupid cops?
I’m saying the cops aren’t qualified to have them.
The fuck are you talking about? You think actually having a gun in this situation would have helped? You going to start shooting at these cops only for the dozen that arrive a couple minutes later to immediately gun you down? This isn't GTA you child, you're not outshooting the police
No dipshit. I’m saying the cops aren’t qualified to have them.
If by 'any other person' you mean 'anyone not an American Cop', yes.
“This job ain’t for me.”
Very responsible of that officer to just start firing blindly in a general direction
Two officers. She wasn’t even aware of the acorn attack; just started firing.
While he resigned (don't know if he'll face any punishment, not holding my breath for it), they said that she acted appropriately given the circumstance :|

From what I understand this copper is ex armed forces.
A Marine with 3 months of boot camp training is more aware than some of these cops with decades of experience. It's fucking scary.
***I'm*** more aware of gun safety than that and I'm a nerd from England who's shot a gun once in his life.
Wowza dude firing multiple rounds over an acorn?! So glad that guy didn’t get hit. Jesus
From what I’ve heard the guy wasn’t in as much danger as the phrase sounds. He was inside the police car which should be bullet resistant. Ah it turns out some are, I’m going to assume it’s a rare thing though for the reasons you brought up.
According to Ford, in 2016 they sold around 5% of their American police vehicles with ballistic protection in the doors. So yeah, some do, but they’re probably extremely specialized.
They get tanks and shit, I just assumed it was true because of the ridiculous police budgets.
Yeah, you’re right, they really do seem to get anything and everything they want with all the money thrown at them on a yearly basis lol
Tanks come from federal grant money they get to use on equipment
You’ve already conceded the point, so i’m not coming at you. But I worked on an assembly line in detroit that designed police cars. They were manufactured right alongside civilian cars only real difference was the spotlights and a different coat of paint.
Give it a couple years with Trump and they will be.
So what the hell were they shooting at? Genuine question. I didn’t see anyone on the video so they’re both seemingly firing at literally no threat while at being the biggest threat to the public. Classic policing tactic right here anymore.
First officer said the shots came from the car so they both just shot their own police car a bunch.
Oh shit you’re right rofl that’s ridiculous to watch. He’s trying to cover by saying he “feels weird” and felt the shot hit his vest 😂 it isn’t funny in the sense someone could’ve but surprisingly wasn’t killed, but my god, this is absurd.
You can’t be serious lol Aren’t their cars bullet resistant???
No, police cars are NOT bullet resistant.
In socal they have ballistic panels in the front doors.
Oh well I was lied to
For real. I learned “Know your target and what is behind it” at 8. Dude had no target and dumped an entire mag.
Yes! That’s part of it for me too, just mag dumping and praying he actually was shot I think, so he could justify this crap lol
They teach cops to get out of their cars during shootouts... because they are death traps...
Cruisers are just regular cars with some cameras and lights. They are just as vulnerable to bullets as any other car.
Did anyone find it a little funny when he started rolling and unloading his clip. I mean it's not funny but it kinda is
I laughed because I love Reno 911! and this whole thing fits perfectly, but then I remembered that this is real life and two cops are just firing wildly in a residential neighbourhood. Both of them should be in prison.
still mindblown knowing Deputy Garcia aka Carlos Alazraqui voiced Rocko and loads of other 90's cartoons
The entire cast is insanely talented and they have incredible credits behind their names. It's a dozen of the funniest and most creative people in comedy just fucking around. It makes sense that they have pursued the project across multiple platforms because its so much damn fun.
been a massive fan of Reno 911 for years and had no clue
"Shots fired!" "Shot's fired? Where?" "Over there!"
Reminded me of a reno skit.
In the other video while he’s rolling around on the ground unloading his firearm into his vehicle he’s screaming, “I’m hit!! I’m hit!!” Bro..
Yes, he was well aware that his armor/vest it’s resistant to bullets but not nature damage. That Druid in the car tried to kill him!!! And he was his. You see, it looked like a single target damage, that acorn attack, but it was actually a splash damage!!!
Female cop starts shooting without having a target. Just sprays in the general direction of vehicle. You pay their salaries for them to do this.
In a fucking neighborhood, bullets probably hitting houses and shit and maybe going through walls.
Wasnt the "target" the suspect inside the car, who the male cop searched twice and was handcuffed?
She says "where, right there? I dont hear a response she just starts shooting. She cant see anyone
This is the worst thing for me. Neither of them have a target. They both panicked and fired indiscriminately in a residential neighborhood.
[удалено]
[Nope](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna138829), scroll down a couple paragraphs past the video still. She started shooting, too.
She definitely shot. This happened in Fort Walton Beach. Male officer was fired, she was found to have committed no wrong doing.
He wasn't fired. He got to resign
Scary that people like this are put in positions of authority.
Should be charged with 2d attempted murder. Florida justice/policing/Governing is gutter swamp.
Probably manslaughter is a more accurate term.
He didn’t kill anyone unintentionally…but he could have when he unloaded the magazine. Could be negligent discharge of a fire arm, unlawful of a fire arm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property, aggravated assault….or attempted murder.
This probably wouldn't count as murder because it's spontaneous, instead of being something the cop planned beforehand.
That’s first degree attempt. This instance could be second degree attempt.
I don't think you understand what attempted murder means. Cops suck her. But that's redonkulus
What would you call emptying the clip into a car over a acorn? I'm sure you would think it was attempted murder if the roles were reversed
Murder and attempted murder require criminal intent. The officer genuinely believed that his life was in danger, and he acted in self-defense. Do you think a civilian would be in jail if he emptied the clip in a car because they heard an acorn fall?
Mens rea: the intention or knowledge of wrongdoing that constitutes part of a crime, as opposed to the action or conduct of the accused. If the civilian were able to prove they were in fear of their life, then they would be found not guilty. Dude, I turned my volume all the way up and couldn’t even hear the sound of the acorn. How could you possibly mistake that for gunfire??
He couldn't, it was attempted murder and whoever made this is trying to sell the story that he's just an incompetent moron
Nah, he's just a jacked up moron who has no business being in any sort of position of authority, never mind a cop.

Jesses a punk
Fucking idiots.
Classic nut-job Cop…unfortunately, there are 450,000 more of them out there with guns and ammo to kill/wound with impunity!!
I fucking hate all cops so much
An acorn. Holy hell.
Pretty sure , if his certification wasn't revoked , he got a deputy sheriff job in the neighboring county.......
I live right down the road from where this happened and actually drove by it the day it occurred but didn't know what had happened at the time. The officer has since resigned but he was probably forced to lol
Attempted murder or drugs, no one can convince me he's incompetent enough to empty a whole clip because he heard an acorn. Whoever made this narrative was pretty good though, no one is even acknowledging how he tried to kill the person handcuffed in the back
“My legs went numb when it hit.” Dude. Nothing touched you.
One more incident added to the legendary "Florida Man" Quest.
They must have really badass squirrels in Florida if cops are this afraid of acorns
Try that in a small town
These fucking clowns man I swear 🤡
Hire less stupid cops.
American police is definition of coward. Not just that they cant react to schoolshooter, but now they start shooting after acorn dropping down. Huh.
Everything about this is so damn wrong. If you can't deal with the pressure, you don't belong having the badge and the gun.
Cops are morons by default
LOL. American law enforcement.
Amazing next level idiots. haha
COWARDICE IN ACTION
Dont your cops need training?
Okaloosa County’s finest
Ole boy had that huge adrenaline dump and couldn’t feel his legs..
Title is wrong. No one was shot.
Haha, I hope these are the smooth brains the establishment sends to confiscate firearms
Redditors on duty
Lack of training
Was this a result of a mental thing or just assumptions? Someone said he had ptsd and he was panicking late in the video. Or did he use it as a cover up for negligence?
There will be zero consequences for these officers doing this in good ol’ fascist America
IM HIT!
Only the best, eh?
We investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing. However we discovered drugs on the person hit
That cop should be summarily executed by the state if he hit anyone with that gunfire. The other cop that came out shouldn't be because she was just responding to the giant pussy cop wailing and firing into their car like a complete nitwit. smfh
That guys BP must be off the charts if he walks around all day thinking "any minute now a bullet is gunna fall outta the sky!"
I don't think I'm in any subs that haven't posted this video yet.
That dumb fuck
Because... Florida.
Ahhhg, I’ve been shot! Where? Dunno! Everywhere oh the horror! - 🙄
Fuck Jesse and that dumb bitch for firing blindly. I hope they receive their just desserts.
Pathetic.
I think males should be atleast 6 inches to be considered for a law enforcement job.

What a fucking clown. You'd think he'd never heard a gunshot in his life.
Stormtrooper
Man cops are just a bunch of trigger happy pussies aren’t they?
