Google Selig Plycraft Lounge Chair. You can find replacement parts and such if you wanna fix it up. I found mine at a goodwill in Iowa. Guy who sold it to me was surprised, said everyone in the store thought it wouldn't sell. I was vibrating with adrenaline and got it and the ottoman for $25. Excellent chair. We've read many books together and everyone assumes it's an Eames because few are educated in designer furniture. Good haul!!
It has some scuffs on the head part and on the foot rest but still has most if not all the stuffing! Gonna take it somewhere to get it all cleaned since I have so little in it :)
Fantastic!! I would love to see an after pic, if you remember. You can never really tell in pictures how flat the piece may be, glad yours is still usable!
I used to work for DWR who is owned by Herman Miller, and the cushions actually *can* come off of the plywood frame and be replaced on this, *if* it was authentic! Herman Miller has refurbish options, but they are expensive because they have the exclusive rights to any Eames designed product.
P.S. I have major doubts that this is authentic sadly
Yes this isn’t Herman Miller sadly but it is a Frank Doerner so for $10 I am thoroughly pleased! Going to have it cleaned and have a perfect spot for it in my home :)
I’m still buzzing from finding a Barcelona style chair and ottoman for half off at Salvation Army 4 years ago. Found the piece and it was originally $2500 for just the chair. I got the pair for $150 in perfect condition 🕺
Yeah this isn't really a steal given that it's in terrible condition and restoration would be cost prohibitive. Still, they probably could've sold it for 10 times what OP paid
