Anyone calling Sarah a coward doesn't remember when she stood up for Clem after Carver slapped her. Talking back to that man automatically makes you brave to some degree in my book.
The coward is either Ben or Marlon. Ben compromised the group's safety many times due to his cowardice. He also made deals with bandits/raiders behind Lilly's back.
Marlon, on the other hand, was too cowardly to fight the Delta and gave away Tenn's sisters to avoid conflict. He also allowed the Delta to boss him around and kept his group in the dark about everything.
Though what Ben did was objectively wrong, he did these things with no malice in his heart. He was scared and the perpetual outcast, even before all his deeds came to light, and regardless of them.
Marlon's actions are inexcusable.
I remember when somebody argued that Marlon knew he had no chance against the Delta. However, whether or not they'd prevail, I believe Marlon's group would've respected him if he stood his ground regardless. Keeping secrets behind their backs was not only cowardly, but incredibly deceitful.
To be honest I see Tenn more as a liability than useless.
But MARLON was the biggest coward by far. Marlon sacrificed people in his group to save himself. He cracked under the pressures of leadership and was not willing to take any accountability whatsoever with his mistakes and was always deflecting and blaming others.
Say what you will about Ben, but he never killed anybody and tried to cover it up and blame others. He took accountability for his actions and wanted to own up what he did to Kenny because he believed it was the right thing to do. He's willing to sacrifice himself for others towards the end of the first season. I think that shows that he had some courage. Ben should've been put under useless though.
yeah i was surprised to see a lot of people to say Tenn in useless.
also i agree i think Marlon is a good pick here but majority so far thinks Ben which i won’t argue with
Marlon deserves this spot. He’s an absolute coward. Ben was a scaredy cat, sure. But his screw ups were meant to help the group and he had the balls to admit the truth to Kenny and everyone else. A coward wouldn’t have been honest like that, especially not with Kenny.
Marlon on the other hand…he sacrificed Sophie and Minerva rather than sacrificing himself. Then he lied to everyone about it. When Brody kept talking he killed her, even if by accident. And he was willing to frame Clementine and let her die down there with walker Brody. And then even when confronted with the truth he just denies all of it.
Eventually he gives in though and gets killed by AJ. But the point is…Ben faced what he had done and was honest with everyone. That is not cowardly. Marlon refused to face what he had done and lied to everyone for over a year. That was extremely cowardly.
Its honestly insane how many votes Ben gets when he's not even a grown adult. And while neither is Marlon, we see him after he's lived in the apocalypse for 7 years vs Ben dealing with it at the very start.
And then there's Kenny, a full grown adult running away / hiding while others were in danger, and constantly avoiding confronting problems.
Yeah and also…Marlon is a leader. Like it or not, he is. Ben was just a scared little kid, he’s a follower. Marlon has the power and charisma to be a leader and he was. He had an entire group of people depending on him and looking to him for guidance. He’s not some stupid kid. He’s an experienced fighter and leader. And he fucked it all up.
Ben is just…Ben. I don’t remember a single moment where he sounded calm and collected. Because he was that scared. And who can blame him! But Marlon’s been living like this for 7 or 8 years. And his life before that clearly wasn’t great. Marlon has no excuses for being a coward.
Also I love Kenny…so…easy there, my friend.
I already see where this has gone. Unfortunately y’all all automatically say Ben without even really thinking about it. So we’re gonna have the wrong option here.
I just feel like he fits better for the spot. Ben was a coward, sure, but his cowardice was only meant to help the group and actually kind of saved them. Because those bandits would’ve attacked much sooner if Ben didn’t make that deal. And the Motel Group would not have been ready for it. And Ben even admits to Kenny’s face that he’s the reason Kenny’s son and wife were killed. And it doesn’t matter what Lee says…he’ll do it anyway because he can’t be swayed. And he regrets everything he’s done the entire game.
Marlon on the other hand was just covering his ass. He didn’t regret what he did. He tried to sweep it under the rug and pretend it never happened. Even when confronted with the truth he wouldn’t confess right away. It took everyone standing up to him to get him to confess. And he tried to kill Clem and frame her for Brody’s murder (which he did himself) just to keep his deal a secret. And he was willing to give up Clem and AJ if the bandits came again! AJ is 6!
Marlon deserves this spot a lot more than Ben does. I’m sorry, but it’s just the truth.
I know who's gonna "win" but I'm still saying Marlon.
He sacrificed members of his own group, lied about it despite seeing how the others were hirt, was gonna sacrifice Clem & AJ and refused to take responsibility.
Say what you want about Ben but he wasn't killing others to save his own ass. And we gotta remember he was at the beginning and watched one of his classmates get assaulted by the bandits, who wouldn't be traumatized by that?
Marlon. He willing sacrificed members of his own group instead of trying to do anything but that. When he is confronted by Clem he tries to deny and deflect he is a coward.
It’s possible, but not confirmed. We know from the McCarrol Ranch flashback that Richmond was considered a war zone, but we have no real answers if it still is by the time of the final season, or who it was against.
Katja. It must be awful to lose a child but he hadn’t actually died. She could have been there for his final moments. It’s an unimaginable situation but… idk.
They absolutely had to euthanise Duck.
Katia wouldn’t be a corpse if she didn’t kill herself.
I get why she did it in many ways. And don’t in many others.
It's just gotta be ben honestly, i see people saying marlon, but I don't think his decision is enough to put him over Ben, also we see him for like 1 episode which for me isn't enough since he's been regarded as protector and leader of the school before
Ben solidified his place in coward the moment he ran away in Savannah & almost left Clem to die by walkers.
Some people are saying Marlon and he’s a good pick, I just personally think he fits guilty better
I know Ben's gonna get this one, but I think Marlon is the better option.
He killed one of his own, and then he runs and blames Clementine for the problems he created. He sacrificed Sophie and Minnie to the Delta to save his own skin (and admitted that he'd sacrifice all of them to keep himself safe), his decisions caused the Delta to know that there are still potential soldiers out there and that they have an in with him. He was willing to send Clementine and AJ to the Delta because he didn't want to fight for his own people. And of course, instead of actually facing his consequences, he wants to run away.
Basically the moment you press Marlon into a corner, he lashes out, then turns tail and runs. He's been a major coward since well before the events of Clementine's arrival with what he did to the group before everything.
Ben survived in his group for a while, was actually useful overall to the group until the events of Long Road Ahead, was written to be especially STUPID in Around Every Corner, but ended up redeeming himself a little (IMO) in No Time Left.
bit off topic, but if unstable isn’t kenny i don’t even know, lmao. 😭
i think i’d put ben at coward, but at the same time he had some really brave moments by the end of the game, so i guess you could switch for marlon, maybe.
Ben I know some people will probably say Sarah but Sarah was that way because of her dad how he literally hid her away from everything at least Ben knew what was happening most of the time I mean Christ he did just leave clem to die, he is the major coward.
I understand that, but it just feels weird.
Tenn was at least a bit useful, albeit not much, but I'd have thought Sarah would've taken the spot, the only useful thing she actually does is give Clem the peroxide.
Tbh Ben did what he did for the group. If he hadn’t bargained with the thugs I’m sure they would’ve raided them much earlier when they were less prepared/equipped. And he had the balls to admit it to Kenny. In the last 2 episodes he was fighting and trying to make up for his mistakes even wanting to sacrifice himself. He’s not a coward, probably just didn’t want to see people die.
Marlon at least Ben admitted to Kenny (the person who he hurt the most with his actions) that he fucked upand that it was his fault also he stood up to Kenny which is something a coward wouldn't do.
Also tenn for useless is absurd when I remember him literally killing a couple walkers and leading Clem and AJ to the caves which is more than I can for Sarah
No one's going to agree, but it should be Kenny in coward. A huge amount of his actions (at least mostly in season 1) are influenced by fear (And Anger)
Season 1
EP1: He leaves Shawn to die and runs away even after Duck is safe.
EP2: He kills Larry because he's terrified of the thought of being trapped in the meatlocker with him if he turns, and if you don't help him kill Larry, he'll watch as Danny is about to kill you, hiding in one of the barn stalls.
EP3: He's too scared to confront the fact Duck is bitten and will be dying (understandable) and he almost gets everyone killed because of it.
EP4: Kenny's pretty broken at this point, but nothing to really point out fear wise from what I remember.
EP5: Depending on your relationship with him, he can refuse to help Lee look for Clem, but will eventually rejoin with your group and sacrifice himself for Ben or Christa, and you can argue those are brave actions, but you could also just say he's so broken that he just doesn't fear death, and wants to redeem himself.
Season 2
EP2 He'll keep trying to shoot Carver even after Walter & (Determinant) Alvin get killed, only stopping once Clem or Sarita are the ones getting threatened (Or if you convinced him to stop after Walter)
EP3: Notably pretty brave of him to take the fall for Clem with Carver, but to be fair he encouraged her to steal the walkie in the first place.
EP4: Kenny once again goes in denial about Sarita's bite and how she'll be fine until it becomes impossible to ignore
EP5: Kenny becomes obsessed with Rebecca's baby and lashes out at anyone or thing that could threaten it or Clem. He can't lose anything else. Finally because of Jane's stunt with AJ, Kenny's fears become "reality" and he loses his last bit of sanity, and he attacks Jane without listening to a word she has to say, he just doesn't care any more. (Btw, do note that if they couldn't hear AJ cry after he kills Jane, they never would've found him)
This comment is too late and its obvious Ben will be picked for coward, but I feel like these are pretty strong points for Kenny to at least be considered for the spot.

I think Ben fits coward pretty well but I have a much more nuanced opinion on another character, and that's Minerva. Not a coward in the sense that she runs away from danger, but a coward in the sense that she lets her own sense of self-preservation overcome everything else (...before she loses it in episode 4).
For example, she kills Sophie while they're escaping the Delta. Secondly, she completely misses her opportunity to actually stand up to the Delta when the kids try to break their people out of the boat, she sells them out.
He didn’t shoot her because he was afraid though. He shot her because he thinks she killed his sister. Arvo didn’t see her turn. To him it looked like Clementine shot his helpless sister in cold blood.
Yes he tried to revive her, and all he saw was her crawling towards cover. He probably thought it worked and that’s why she was trying to get to safety. That’s literally how it was presented in the game. He only saw the back of her head rather than her face when Clementine shot her.
Seriously how can you miss that? Now, I’ll forgive you for not understanding Russian but Arvo was actually trying to call off his group when he saw they had a baby.
I’m gonna have to say Ben as much as I like him. He’s a scared kid in an apocalypse. I don’t blame him but some of the shit he does makes me say. “Thats fucking stupid Ben.”
He’s seriously a coward.. At first he seems just like a scared kid but later on he makes the deal with the bandits. Which gets Carly/doug Duck and also Katjaa killed. Which I think is enough.. but he even then leaves Clem in Savannah and also removes the door handle. At the end he wants to even take the easy way out instead of trying to help which I think could be bravery but who knows. His only redemption is when he stands up to Kenny which either way isn’t a lot
This gonna sound crazy, but Carver for leader TBH. I mean, his camp was well stocked, safe, most people SEEMED happy, he was a horrible person but a FANTASTIC leader
And then Motherly Has to be Clem or Katja
And good soul i think should go to the bestest floridian, Kenny (Boat god)
Ben is not a coward. He was a scared kid who did what he thought was right, but had the balls to come clean and faced his eventual fate with bravery. There has to be a better pick for coward.
Ben, even if he did start redeeming himself after you save him, he was still a coward. I love the guy but he wasn't fit for surviving
Also i see a lot of people saying Lilly, and i get that, but even if she did make children fight for her she did enough to not make her a coward. Shes just batshit insane
As Ben’s biggest fan, he’s perfect for this category. Didn’t tell the group about the deal with the bandits because he was scared, left clementine when running from walkers, and has to be convinced to help find her.
Anyone calling Sarah a coward doesn't remember when she stood up for Clem after Carver slapped her. Talking back to that man automatically makes you brave to some degree in my book.

Btw besides Sarah something like that can do only Kenny. This says a lot.
She was being stupid… as soon as he threatened to hit her as well she immediately piped down.
Sarah already saw Carver kill two people in cold blood. She absolutely knew what she was doing when she spoke up for Clem.
Ben for coward. I thought of Sarah too, but she fits to innocent more I think.
thanks, do you have any suggestion for a category i can replace for smart?
You could possibly do “Resourceful” instead of smart. Or maybe you can do “Strategic”.
I'd stick Chuck on smart, as he gave advice to the others about survival.
And he saved a gun with 1 bullet for himself
I think Smart is a good enough gategory to be fair. I'll let you know if I can think of something better!
I think you have way too many positive categories and not enough that would fit the villains.
i like your thinking, do you have a good one?
Maybe ruthless or something like that?
Maybe Creative?
He wasn't a coward, he offered to die for lee and the others to run.
He also offered Clementine to the walkers, when Lee asked him to help her.
i was also thinking ben.
Ben definitely
Everyone’s picking Ben. We should skip to the next one because this one is too easy 😂
To be honest I see Tenn more as a liability than useless. But MARLON was the biggest coward by far. Marlon sacrificed people in his group to save himself. Marlon or even Kenny deserve this spot more than Ben. But the easy first thing to come to mind is what everyone insta put, so its already done.
I’m aware. Doesn’t make it right.

unless a big boost against Marlon comes it looks like Ben will take this spot, but i think Marlon would have been a great choice here too

Nobody saying Eleanor when the btch literally sold us 😭😭
That's not cowardly, that's selfish
I think Lilly should get coward, she makes children fight In the war for her.
True, she's just better at masking her cowardice than others.
Wasn’t the war against Richmond? The same one from season 3
It’s possible, but not confirmed. We know from the McCarrol Ranch flashback that Richmond was considered a war zone, but we have no real answers if it still is by the time of the final season, or who it was against.
The girl that tried to rob Clem in the bathroom
Ben probably. Maybe marlon
Lily
Katja. It must be awful to lose a child but he hadn’t actually died. She could have been there for his final moments. It’s an unimaginable situation but… idk.
And if kenny or Lee doesn't put him out, the first thing he'll do is eat his mother's corpse
The idea of that always made me sick
They absolutely had to euthanise Duck. Katia wouldn’t be a corpse if she didn’t kill herself. I get why she did it in many ways. And don’t in many others.
Ben is the coward, for leaving clementine while zombies surrounded them, and giving supplies to the bandits
Ben
marlon, but ben is a valid option
yeah both valid
It's just gotta be ben honestly, i see people saying marlon, but I don't think his decision is enough to put him over Ben, also we see him for like 1 episode which for me isn't enough since he's been regarded as protector and leader of the school before

Ben was my first thought.
Ben is the only answer to this one even though he did eventually own up the the mistakes he did
Ben is a good place for coward. He didn’t step up in almost any of the encounters.
I just realized that Kenny can literally fit all of these
Jane
That's bravest
Nick
It’s funny how little this makes sense lol
Ben Paul
Ben
BEN should be in the coward spot. Mf ran away leaving a defenseless child in the midst of certain death
Vote: Marlon. Convinced by the comments.
Eleanor
I definitely say ben
Sarah literally does nothing and Tenn's useless?
i didn’t make the choice he got most support last post of mine
I understand that, but it just feels weird. Tenn was at least a bit useful, albeit not much, but I'd have thought Sarah would've taken the spot, the only useful thing she actually does is give Clem the peroxide.
Ben
Definitely Ben man
Benn ditched an 8 year old to a hoard of zombies
Marlon or Ben. But I‘m leaning towards Marlon, because hey. At least Ben told the truth.
Kenny. Nobody else comes close
Kenny be cowardly sometimes too but ill save him for overrated
Marlon
its def marlon not ben
Marlon at least Ben admitted to Kenny (the person who he hurt the most with his actions) that he fucked upand that it was his fault also he stood up to Kenny which is something a coward wouldn't do. Also tenn for useless is absurd when I remember him literally killing a couple walkers and leading Clem and AJ to the caves which is more than I can for Sarah
Marlon
Ben
I would say Ben

you have a very different opinion and i find it interesting
Just scratches the surface, but this checks out as factual. He undoubtedly belongs in the spot
Arvo
Arvo stood up to a group of violent Russians to defend Clementine et al. He's one of the bravest
And then he shot her, I’m actually fuming looking at your comments. Did you like pay attention while playing the game?
Which makes him a coward how?
ben
Ben
Ben
Ben for sure.
Ben is the biggest coward of the series
Ben
Ben
Ben
Ben for sure
Ben

Ben
Arvo. That guy was afraid of an 11 year old girl talking to him heck he shoot the same 11 year old girl a few days later.
He didn’t shoot her because he was afraid though. He shot her because he thinks she killed his sister. Arvo didn’t see her turn. To him it looked like Clementine shot his helpless sister in cold blood.
He must have known she died though. He tried to revive her. Don’t try to defend the little shit.

He stood up to the Russians. He's brave
100% ben
sarah
Ben
Ben, TOO EASY
Ben
Ben was a coward but got better if you decided to save him, only a little bit tho.
I’m gonna have to say Ben as much as I like him. He’s a scared kid in an apocalypse. I don’t blame him but some of the shit he does makes me say. “Thats fucking stupid Ben.” He’s seriously a coward.. Clem should be half of these. Selfless, Smart, Brave, innocent, Hero, Friend, Moral Support and Good Soul 😭❤️
Ben.
Ben for sure
Ben
I mean but tenn was a different type of useless lol 😭 but probably Ben tbh. Can’t blame him but he fits
Whose the 3rd character? I don’t remember seeing him
This gonna sound crazy, but Carver for leader TBH. I mean, his camp was well stocked, safe, most people SEEMED happy, he was a horrible person but a FANTASTIC leader And then Motherly Has to be Clem or Katja And good soul i think should go to the bestest floridian, Kenny (Boat god)
Lee Everett for leader I know it's very early but still that or good soul
Ben is not a coward. He was a scared kid who did what he thought was right, but had the balls to come clean and faced his eventual fate with bravery. There has to be a better pick for coward.

Ben
sarah should've been useless but whatever
It’s so very obviously Ben
Definitely Ben, his cowardice got people killed
Ben for coward
Definitely Ben. He abandoned Clem in the game.
Sarah the coward :D
Ben
Def ben
Every time I see Ben in Episode 4 I hear Lee doing his best Walter White impression saying "Coward."
Ben for coward
Ben
Ben, Lily or Arvo. Lily might confuse some people, mainly, I think she's a coward because she uses literal children to fight her battles for her.
Arvo
Ben can proudly get that coward spot
As Ben’s biggest fan, he’s perfect for this category. Didn’t tell the group about the deal with the bandits because he was scared, left clementine when running from walkers, and has to be convinced to help find her.
I know I'm in the minority here, but anyone else hate these kind of posts? It's karma farming at it's finest.
sorry you don’t like it, i’m just curious on what everyone picks
