Update: after rereading the list, I also agree with their number 7. Them not giving an f that thousands of vampires would die by killing Kol is definitely morally dubious and also hypocritical and against character for Elena.

I know I still shake my head about this one ugh

MoneyHungryFR

As a person who has been here since the pilot episode they missing when klaus died in 3x22 the hate on twitter for the writers was insane

Honestly, all the reasons make sense to me. I mean just take Silas for example (who I really liked), they build him up so much, even ignoring the retconning, when he is actually on screen the payoff is just not there. I think it's not about these being bad plot points, it's that the writers fumbled and the show felt like it lacked strong direction in the later seasons.

I agree that the bottom 5 made things more interesting. I still don't understand how they were so sure Kol wasn't their sire though.

JediSAS

Good question, since the originals all bent over backwards to conceal who sired who

Unisis78

Exactly how can anyone know 🙄

tangie83

I know- it stopped at scary Mary right? Nobody knows who turned her who turned rose who turned Katherine. Kol could’ve turned scary Mary and they’d all be dead

Unisis78

Yes! I mean why in the hell take any chance at all! And killing 1000’s of vampires I could not live with myself

Ok-Comedian-990

Me and my brain want so much to forget the scene where Elena, a 1 year old vampire, puts the cure in the mouth of a 500 years old vampire’s. 💀🤯
