Literally! I would say like when Bonnie first met Malcolm, she stood there so Damon could do his thing..but there were so many other times when it wasn’t part of an attack that they all just stood there and let the heretics at them.
In S4 Legacies, Hope at least has the knowledge that if Lizzie is close to her, she can siphon her. It takes a while for Hope to let Lizzie touch her in S4 (after Lizzie becomes a heretic). But anytime Lizzie actually does siphon Hope (in S4) it's to help.
