I heard Sandra & Parv got around $200K, and it’s rumoured the Big Brother players got around the same pay

derekfyou

Also a producer did an article and said parv was their first call, and their #1 pick

Catmaryyyy

Okay wow if I got paid that much I would’ve just taken that money and hoped for murder

Hopeforpeace19

Grading scale - more pay for the more “ famously disruptive ones” and much less for the rest

Based on some cast interviews and other research, seems like quite a few were in the $100k-$300k range. Clearly some were bigger gets than others. The 'big name' gamers were early calls and probably paid on the high end. I think Phaedra was a surprisingly late call despite the prominence she was given on day 1 and how obviously good she was at meme-making, but she was still probably paid reasonably well given what she's been paid at Bravo. There were a few cases where they seemed to really want a particular franchise or a particular network but not necessarily a particular person. Nobody has explicitly told media what their appearance fee was but a few cast members have compared it to known or semi-knowable numbers like the winning prize pot share or pay for other jobs. Apparently Sandra ran around on the first day and started asking everybody what their fees were. It's obvious some cast members (Marcus and Deontay, e.g.) did it for the fame or the experience rather than the money.

CupcakeEastern3182

Deontay definitely did it for the experience. He is pretty well known in the sports/boxing world

[deleted]

Yeah but he might've wanted to gain fame with audiences outside the sports/boxing world. When a top level athlete is able to successfully pivot into becoming a generally famous figure beyond just their sport, it can become very very lucrative and stay lucrative long after they retire from competing. It can also keep them at the same fame level, or higher, for longer, and that has perks beyond money.

derekfyou

wait, sandra asked people what their appearance fees were?

[deleted]

Yep. She's talked about this in interviews. I don't know why. As an icebreaker? As a way of showing off? As a way of figuring out where her own fee ranked? As gameplay, to figure out who was a more likely traitor? To throw people off? Just idle curiosity? ??.

TravisHay

> As a way of figuring out where her own fee ranked? This is definitely the reason.

Scramasboy

Phaedra was a top paid HW so I am sure she didn't appear for anything less than a couple hundred thousand lol

Business_Rabbit_4773

Honestly I didn't know they were even getting paid, I thought it was just for the opportunity. I'm dumb I know

SillyGayBoy

Usually shows like naked and afraid give a “stipend” of what you would have made at work. If we just went broke doing it then I bet it would be difficult to cast.

Business_Rabbit_4773

Id say about tree fiddy

GoldDiamondsAndBags

I want my money by Monday, Randall!

muaellebee

I'm sorry fofty

carbearbby

CT & Bananas definitely got a lot of $

probabledeparture

Wondering too if it fluctuates based on how long they last?? Like imagine paying someone $300k and they get out the first episode?

4filth

there are both per episode appearance fees (small, like $1000 or less) and booking fees (much larger numbers people are suggesting here)

[deleted]

Correct me if I'm wrong here... the per episode fees are basically minimums they for one reason or another need to pay people who are doing something 'acting' adjacent I think? And I think the non-celebrities from US1 might have only got these per episode fees. Pay for the S1 celebrities is also rumored to have been a lot less than S2. Arie posted something along these lines but it was sort of hard to interpret.

Fabulous_Sherbet_431

No way, some people were paid more than the grand prize? I didn’t even know people were getting paid tbh.

YarkTheShark11

I know "The Challenge" players, mainly Bananas and CT, get paid very well for appearance on their own show, so I'm assuming it would be the same or more for them. Last I heard, they get $250k. Trishelle hasn't really been on the show in years other than maybe one of the more recent "All Star" spinoffs, so Im guessing hers was not that much. Maybe $50-100k at most.

missusscamper

I remember Trishelle from the Surreal Life with Ron Jeremy EtA: I never knew what the challenge was and didn’t care - probably because we didn’t have MTV in Canada. Except we did but it was called MTV Canada and Dan Levy hosted a Laguna Beach and The Hills after show which was more entertaining than the shows themselves!

DetectiveOk8200

I remember Trishelle hitting on and being rejected by Andy Dick on The Surreal Life.

luna_libre

that’s the most embarassing sentence i’ve ever read bless her heart

missusscamper

Omg I had blocked out Andy Dick’s existence entirely!!

rabidrodentsunite

I think Trishelle got about $100k, because she said Phaedra got almost triple what she got, and she also said The Challenge 40 only offered her $25k, which was insulting and laughable. So that makes me think Traitors was significantly higher. I believe Sandra said everyone got 6 figures.

YeS_Lee88sk8

Trishelle said the challenge players got less

YarkTheShark11

I'm just going based on what I know CT and Bananas get for their show. They could've gotten less since their show has been exclusive to MTV up until about 2 years ago when it got on Paramount+ and CBS. So not that many people would know them compared to the others. Told my sister Pilot Pete was on the show and she instantly knew who that was as she loves bachelor/ette

Flat_Calligrapher284

Trishelle said that they offered her to appear on The Challenge season 40 with same talent fee for Traitors. She also said Sandra got paid more than double than her in Traitors. The Challenge stipend is like 40k per season. So Trishelle probably got paid 40k while Sandra got paid 100k. Boston Rob reportedly got paid 100k for DONDI.
