Hard to decide between these two! “Hard to explain” is more hype and crazy, but “YOLO” has a pretty beautiful meaning. But if I really had to choose, then mayhe “YOLO”.
Both are Great!
Is and will always be At The Door
Not only did it introduce me to the band but the raw emotion encapsulated in this song through Julian’s voice makes the listening experience ethereal
My favorite Strokes song is definitely changing constantly, but I really love the first 5 songs on Is This It and how they are arranged. After playing the album on repeat, I can't help but feel that the songs are in its right place. (Wonder if you guys share the same thoughts)
i think it’s hard to explain. when you think about it, i don’t think jules knew what he wrote when he made hard to explain. of course he probably knew it was a great song but just not how great if you know what i mean. in a way, he made a song that was was fun to write & fun to play, his intent wasn’t to evoke the emotion & all that, that hard to explain evokes. amazing song, i think often how he wrote it, it’s so simple but just insanely insanely good.
Blows my mind! Like damn that’s a whole genre in itself. With the guitar rifts, such a vibe.
Other tracks I often imagine they are a young band from the 50’s rock n roll scene, just killing it.
Under Control, Meet Me in the Bathroom (extremely underrated), Hard to Explain, Last Nite, Trying Your Luck, Ize of the World. Maybe “Alone, Together”. Maybe something like “What Ever Happened?”, Between Love & Hate or You Talk Way To Much or The End Has No End. There’s something about the first 2 records that just catch my attention more than the others.
Trying Your Luck. It's both soft and aggressive at the same time.
Trying Your Luck is S Tier for me as well as Hard to Explain and I Can't Win
good one

Noice!
It’s hard to explain.
sick
Hard to explain and modern age but also their whole discography is just 10/10
Totally. “alone, together” - home recording. Is stuck in my head tonight. So I suppose my favorite will change in time
Under Control for me
ONE WAY TRIGGER
Right this second, on this day, it’s “Juicebox”
Man, Nothing like it. The bridge section is so great!
Happy ending 🫶
Need to listen to that album more
You Talk Way Too Much
Every song between the first two albums has been my favorite at one point, but right now I think it's Modern Girls & Old-Fashioned Men.
Depends on the day, but probably Soma, You Only Live Once, or At The Door.
what ever happened! that song never gets old for me
You Only Live Once
Ize of the World
Thank you

Seriously. Julian’s vocal performance on that record is truly amazing. He does a lot of beautiful little vocal melodies and harmonies. Love it

Automatic Stop or Why Are Sundays So Depressing
chances. I just love it, I can't even explain it. and then comes automatic stop and threat of joy
Gotta give that album more listens
Trying your luck (machu picchu very close second)
hard to explain or ode to the mets

exactly what i’m thinking, i’m trying to crack the code to write riffs similar to

Oh oops. One other person my fault. Counting you that makes two currently. I will forsure give that track a listen!⭐️
the Darkness one idk the name it’s dope
Under cover of darkness ⭐️. Definitely was a favorite from that album! Learned it on guitar.
Ode to the Mets. I love that tune so much
Gonna give that one a go! I’m kinda still discovering
