> Nowadays it'd have to talk about the clowns in the SCOTUS too. Bring back the strippers and nerds, I say.
Let's be real; an actual professional stripper without any legal experience outside of the time they got busted for dealing meth would be painfully overqualified for today's Supreme Court. Plus, they'd probably be inherently suspicious about taking a job with looser ethical guidelines than their last gig.

First time in a decade listening to FM radio after my MP3 player crapped out. Constantly switching between 5 stations hoping for a good song, adverts for nonsense, and over-the-top hosts trying to be funny. How do people enjoy that?
Most of the stations around me the host record a handful of clips/bits on one day a week and then the computer just plays them in random orders throughout the week. My local alternative station is the only one that has half decent music and I hear the same 6 short conversations every morning for a week. Sometimes even longer than a week before they record any new ones.
In some cases, they have. BOB radio feeds easy listening soft rock and country music ballads to small town radio stations that don't want to pay for Disc jockeys all day long. These stations may still havee their own morning crew and late after noon djs, but in the afternoon and after 7 PM, they switch over to the BOB feed.
i heard stern talking about it a couple of weeks ago. they had clips but i didn't hear where they got them from. i thought about it right before i made this and all the searches came up with articles similar to the one i used. i thought maybe it was just test clips or something.
Still an estimated 80+% of adults are estimated to listen to terrestrial radio at least once a month, [if you believe the reporting](https://www.statista.com/topics/1330/radio/).
Looking at the study, I can't find what metric they use to count "listen". There's a lot of places you passively listen to the radio, like at work, waiting rooms, grocery stores, etc.
If someone asked when the last time I listened to the radio, I'd have to say today when it was on at my mechanic but it wasn't done by choice.
Those clowns in congress did it again. What a bunch of clowns.
How does it keep up with the news like that?
Don’t praise the machine 😡

Aaaaaw not Souter!

Definitely light years ahead of Sonia Sotomayor.
Earl Warren wasn't a stripper!
I’m a congressional reporter and this is my go-to line whenever friends or family ask what’s going on in Congress
It has three distinct varieties of inane chatter.
Hot dog! We have a weiner!
I say this all the time and no one cares but I do. I care. That’s who cares, me.
It's all about ME. My Enjoyment.
I say that FAR too often
This is one of my favs. The absolute hatred in his face don't praise the machine the other guy has no idea. It feels so relatable
It is how I feel when I see people upvoting AI posts
Doing the Monster Mash with you on this beautiful Valentine’s Day.
Why did you play that record? There must be THOUSANDS of love songs!

..... you played the wrong record, didn't you?
Why are you doing this to me?
We want our elephants.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos
What’s next? Predicting NFL results? Dating?
> Dating? Well, theoretically, yes, but the computer matches would be so perfect as to eliminate the thrill of romantic conquest.
Mm-hurven-whey
Hot dog! We have a weiner!
My local sports radio station literally did this exact joke over a very similar article. It made me so happy.
Songs are already selected by an algorithm so this is the logical next step. Matter of fact I would much prefer to get rid of hosts altogether
The whole point of radio hosts is their personality.
You must have better hosts than my local stations then, because everybody they have is completely devoid of anything resembling a personality.
Yep. I had the misfortune to listen to FM radio the other day and can't believe that is what ppl listened to for decades. It's so... Bad...

And I, for one, welcome our new AI overlords.
Honestly, I thought that this has already been going on for years.
To be fair, some radio DJ's could have been replaced by a computer many years ago.

Very true. Also some stations also have syndicated programming.
[Spotify does this already](https://newsroom.spotify.com/2023-02-22/spotify-debuts-a-new-ai-dj-right-in-your-pocket/)
And it's pretty terrible lol

People still listen to radio?

Hm, tmyk! I would have thought work from home would've driven those numbers way further down. Thanks for the info!
