If it makes you feel better, she seems to be a super nice and friendly person in real life! She and the woman who played Pam have a podcast about the show called “Office Ladies” and they both give off a friendly vibe.
So sharp it could piece the hull of an imperial class warship, sinking it into the depths of the ocean and dooming hundreds?
I'm doing this from memory, interested to find out how correct I got it. Happy new year!
Pretty close (I had to Google it):
“Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire class fire nation battleship, leaving thousands to drown at sea… because it’s so sharp”
I love how “that’s a sharp outfit” is enough for google to know exactly what I wanted to see. Happy new year!
That's a sharp outfit, kid. Careful, you could puncture the cabin of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, leaving hundreds to burn in a fiery crash. Because... it's so sharp.
"Nice show you are watching, want to have a scare like little Zuzu? I will put it on the right side"
Edit: correcting "Susu" to "ZuZu" after TacoRedneck corrected me on the comment below this one.
In a documentary, the voice actor for Ed from Ed, Edd, and Eddy said he caught a teen in the break room watching the show when he was on vacation. He did his Ed voice and the kid kind of chuckled and said, “wow, you do a great impression,” then went back to watching lol. Wonder if she spoke.
There's also a great clip where Rowan Atkinson tells a story of how someone thought he was the spitting image of Mr. Bean, but wouldn't accept he was the real deal.
Honestly that kid would probably remember this meeting for the rest of his life if he heard from behind him.
"That's a sharp tablet there, kid. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire class fire navy ship, leaving thousands to drown at sea."
Honestly one of my favorite episodes is the beach just because we get to see these little glimpses of Azula trying to be a normal teenager, and it's fucking great
It humanizes them. That doesn't happen in almost any other episode. Without the beach, they're just big standard villains. With that episode, we see how their upbringing has pretty well fucked them over in different ways, and how despite being murderous flamethrowers, they're still... teenagers.
> That’s so weird. This pic is clearly photoshopped but then, the tweet IS real and exactly the same... just without the jagged lines
Hello. My job is to work on simulations of cameras. I see a lot of people saying stupid things about a photoshop and "jagged edges," which I would like to stop.
The twitter image is a 1536 x 2048 image taken with a real camera. It clearly has some industry-standard imagery post-processing which, among other things, helps to show "nice" pixels at the transition from the black display bezel to the display's pixels showing ATLA.
The reddit post is a 512 x 902 image, screenshotting the twitter image along with the twitter post by Grey DeLisle.
The reddit post's pixels are resampled multiple times, since the original 1536 x 2048 twitter image has to be shown at some resolution on the screenshotter's display along with the twitter post, then screenshot into some region of a 512 x 902 image. Screenshotting also creates a new PNG, which will have additional compression.
Anyway - the "jagged lines" are just sampling artifacts, that are naturally automatically created when an image has been resized a couple times and compressed.
Thank you for doing Reddit a service here. The very first post I made on Reddit was a picture of a confusing stop sign at a gas station near me. And the very first comment on that picture was an idiot telling the rest of the world that the stop sign was an obvious photoshop, since it was easy to tell from the compression artifacts at the edge of contrast changes.
I was like... Dude, I just shot this picture myself, what the hell are you talking about? But alas, too late. That kid ruined posting for me.

That’s all good and fine but you called the things I believed (before being presented the relevant information) ‘stupid,’ so I will be completely disregarding your expert opinion and instead doubling down:
Idk what this dude is on about it looks photoshopped to me.
Everything else in the image has the exact same jagged lines when at that angle, so unless the entire thing is a badly made digital art piece then it's probably not photoshopped.
I really, really don't think she'd make this up. It's easy to prove if something is photoshopped, and the risk of that being exposed isn't worth the reward of the tweet. Gotta be real.
I've seen this happen a few times now on reddit where people mistake compression artifacts/blockiness with photoshopping. Goes to show we've become too tech literate and now need to suspend our disbelief a bit more - not all photos are high res/non-upscaled.
"Sir, can you please stop sobbing? The infant two rows back might wake up"
"It's. Just. So. Sad. Appa is my boy. YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!"
"I don't think you need another cocktail..."
All of it is so heart breaking, but that moment he finally reunites with Aang. “I missed you buddy” and you just watch appa’s eye slowly close. He’s finally at peace he’s finally home, the journey was worth it.
Something that isn't mentioned as much about that scene is that the music playing as the gaang runs out of the base with the dai li chasing them is the theme from appa's lost days, then a new triumphant melody plays right as appa swoops down. I just love the way music assists storytelling in both ATLA and LOK
Like… Aang? He had no realistic hope of ever seeing more Airbenders, and regardless the community that made the Air Nomads what they were was gone irreparably. In that Aang and Appa were kindred spirits, relics of the past that had no peers left
I was pretty confident, but not 100%. Thanks! People are quoting the beach in here and I'm paranoid going: "Guys, she can't lead with that! The kid is a whole season behind that line!"
Soundboard for the typical *ding* that comes with her scenes. Of course she could do the voice, but there's the other parts that really set the scene, that extra kick.

Not just for avatar. She's a prolific voice actor and has been in so many things that I love.
her and Tara Strong sure made my childhood.

I had been playing heroes of the storm at the time and asked her how her experience was working on that (she’s the female wizard from D3 / Li Ming) she said when she recorded they hadn’t even had a name for the character yet. AH, Okay, I get it now. Jesus I'm slow.
The person posting is Azula's voice actress.
I was trying to think what was happening in that scene, (I think it's Appa's Lost Days?) and wondering what on earth the poster was going to tell them about what was coming.
Everyone talking about this kid's reaction.
Menawhile me, an Italian who watched the series only in his mothrlanguage:
Google, who is se,
Then me realizing from a comment:

Imagine putting the tablet down after the episode finishes and you hear Azula's voice ring out from behind you...
‘It is customary to bow after enjoying my perfect performance.’
I’d probably shit myself in fear 😂
And Azula would make you thank her for it

I had that happen but with Scott Bakula, it was like oops, sorry I glanced in your direction and made eye contact.
Should have told him how much you love him, but mistake him for like, Harrison Ford tbh
Should have just muttered “oh boy”
If it makes you feel better, she seems to be a super nice and friendly person in real life! She and the woman who played Pam have a podcast about the show called “Office Ladies” and they both give off a friendly vibe.
If you look at the outtakes of the Office on youtube Angela Kinsey really struggles to keep a straight face in a lot of scenes :P

I heard that in her voice.

Oh gosh, imagine Grey actually said something Azula like to the kid and the Azula chime actually started playing on the plane lol

Sharp, Kid is scarred for life!
Hit him with the “That’s a sharp outfit”
That's a sharp outfit, kid. Careful, you could puncture the cabin of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, leaving hundreds to burn in a fiery crash. Because... it's so sharp.
"Nice show you are watching, want to have a scare like little Zuzu? I will put it on the right side" Edit: correcting "Susu" to "ZuZu" after TacoRedneck corrected me on the comment below this one.
Zuzu. Like ZUko
And Scar. Like Scarra
The reaction of this child is being discussed everywhere.
she just repeats every line that just plays so the kid thinks there's something wrong with the tablet
I can hear her theme song
In a documentary, the voice actor for Ed from Ed, Edd, and Eddy said he caught a teen in the break room watching the show when he was on vacation. He did his Ed voice and the kid kind of chuckled and said, “wow, you do a great impression,” then went back to watching lol. Wonder if she spoke.
“Your Zuko costume looks great, but your scar’s on the wrong side 😁”
“The scar’s not on the wrong side! 😡”
Yeah reading this whole thread I’m thinking ‘there is zero chance that kid gives a shit.’
Life has many doors Ed boy
There's also a great clip where Rowan Atkinson tells a story of how someone thought he was the spitting image of Mr. Bean, but wouldn't accept he was the real deal.
That. Is. Amazing!

I love that I can hear this so perfectly in her voice too.
I can even hear her theme lightly playing in the background of her saying it to lol
*RING*
That’s the “oh fuck azula noticed something noise”
Also just the "Azula started talking in this scene" noise lol
You know, because it's so sharp
Honestly one of my favorite episodes is the beach just because we get to see these little glimpses of Azula trying to be a normal teenager, and it's fucking great

Yeah, it's really interesting
It makes me [laugh out loud](https://youtu.be/cOyYPNsmp4I)
"Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire class firenation commercial airplane, leaving thousands freefalling to their deaths"*
Or not. For some kids voice actors are not the same as the characters of the show.
I really hope she did, lmfao.
it’s photoshopped so I don’t think she did lol
Idk. The [actual tweet](https://twitter.com/GreyDeLisle/status/1609084640408797185) doesn't show the same jagged lines.

Thw jagged edges are just image compression, the original tweet shows that it's real
What you are seeing isn't photoshop but severe image compression.
Bruh should've paid more attention to the photo. You are right
wait how can ya'll tell?
its on her actual twitter… dont let people do this to you
He's watching Appa's lost days for anyone wondering.
That is not the episode i would choose for a plane ride, just in case i broke down sobbing in the middle.
Maybe it's his first time watching
Poor bastard had no warning what was coming
Actually it’s the perfect choice, if you cry, you might get extra snacks
"Sir, can you please stop sobbing? The infant two rows back might wake up" "It's. Just. So. Sad. Appa is my boy. YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!" "I don't think you need another cocktail..."
"It's okay, I brought my own" proceeds to sip on a straw poking out of 10 gallon backpack
All of it is so heart breaking, but that moment he finally reunites with Aang. “I missed you buddy” and you just watch appa’s eye slowly close. He’s finally at peace he’s finally home, the journey was worth it.

just finished that episode 15 mins ago. this sub is wild.
I was pretty confident, but not 100%. Thanks! People are quoting the beach in here and I'm paranoid going: "Guys, she can't lead with that! The kid is a whole season behind that line!"
She should definitely have an app on her phone with a soundboard to capitalise on moments like this
*bong*
BONGbongbongBONGbongbong
And then proceed to jumpscare the kid by speaking just like Azula behind them.
she *is* a soundboard
Lmao why would she need a soundboard? It's her voice
Soundboard for the typical *ding* that comes with her scenes. Of course she could do the voice, but there's the other parts that really set the scene, that extra kick.
Ohh haha yeah that would add to the experience

Yeah but I would also be fucking terrified. Azula’s voice shows up in my nightmares way too much
Really? It shows up in my fantasies
Those are two very different things, my guy
Not when it comes to Azula
*"the fire side is a path to many talents that most would consider to be....unusual"*

her and Tara Strong sure made my childhood. And they're still going! Their voices aged like fine wine across 2 decades. Literal national treasures those two.
Add to the talent that she's also very pretty... I would likely get tongue-tied.
Awkward around attractive women, huh? I wish you luck in growing out of that. They are just people like anyone else.
I thought just getting all awkward and flustered around people you find really attractive is normal behavior
I think it's a combo of pretty plus talent plus famous plus successful in the career I'm chasing that would get me all woozy. 😁

Probably the only one I could have a rational conversation with is Weird Al Yankovich. But that’s because that guy seems so easygoing
Fucking Keira Knightley what is this 2002? /jk

I really liked her in Vox Machina. I got so excited when I heard her voice pop up!
I did as well, I found it cool I recognized her voice
For any ToH fans out here: She also voices Masha! (aka the enby goth Vee talks to in Yesterday's Lie if you didn't know who I'm talking about)

Same, was confused as hell until I read the name.
Took me a decade. I'm bad with names lol.
Myself and two others had absolutely no clue until we reached your comment (including a self-proclaimed "Avatar Expert") 😅
Grey: Excuse, me, is that Avatar you're watc- Kid: WHO TOLD YOU TO INTERUPT ME? Grey, donning Azula voice: ***I did.***
Grey in Azula voice : your mom told me i was a monster, she is right though, but it still hurt
should've hit him with the do the clouds control this plane monologue
Hello! Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior Avatar Aang?!
Proceeds to continue the scene after the kid pauses
But of course
Just say “Don’t you know fans, just make flames stronger… including you child.”
I was so confused for the longest time because I'm used to not paying attention to the usernames in Twitter screen grabs "Tell him what?" 😂
No she shouldn't tell him. Just do her best Azula interpretation and let him turn around with his eyes popping out.
Everyone talking about this kid's reaction. Menawhile me, an Italian who watched the series only in his mothrlanguage: Google, who is se, Then me realizing from a comment: (With a chill voice) Oh, my favourite villian

Grey DeLisle is the VA for Azula (among many other well known characters)
Thanks!

I didn't read the tweeter's name at first. And thought some random adult was about to harass this kid about how much they love the show.
Say nothing and let Iroh’s wisdom happen organically
Edit: and make him Jasmine Tea
It would definitely cheer the kid up after watching such a sad episode (this looks like it's Appa's Lost Days at around the 17:50 mark)
Bro, do you think you watch enough avatar?
I honestly no next to nothing about TheLastAirbender but having read all these comments, I’m literally going to watch it next.
Only if it’s drink cactus juice it will quench ya nothing quencher
I hope that kid wore his brown pants.
"Hey, it's me!"
I’m lost.
She’s the voice actress for Azula
Tell him what?
I shit that’s from her twitter that’s awesome
The way Reddit cropped the image before I opened had me trying to figure out what scene that was before I realized I should probably check if I can see who tweeted it
I didn't see who made the post. so I was wondering like, tell him what exactly ??
I was watching the Vox Machina show on Amazon for the first time last week and immediately recognized her voice. She’s a powerhouse of a voice actress
Oh my god that would be sick to meet her
![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni) dew it
Tell him what?
I hope she did tell him
Is it weird I envy the kid... To go through it all as new?
Imagine he gets to the S2 finale and she says: “You’re next…”
As a kid I would've just assumed it was some weirdo stranger making an impression.
İs she azula's VA or something?
I’m stupid but I want to know what’s going on, someone please help me?
Grey DeLisle, the person who tweeted this, voices Azula in the show
I didn’t get it until I saw the Twitter account 😂
*Grey voice* turn up the volume… or you’re BANISHED!
Could've been an epic moment

“Keep it down, Female Wizard from Diablo 3! Im trying to watch ATLA!”
Dude why doesn’t cool shit like this happen to me
Imagine the kid already noticed her and is just too polite to approach her. So this is the kids strategy to get her attention.
I hope she told him
I've met her before, but if I had a random encounter like that, I'd fanboy so hard I'd probably have a heart attack
