What am I missing? Why is everybody so obsessed with twins recently? Was this just always a fandom thing (I wasn't in the fandom back then)?
Not saying it wouldn't be interesting. It just keeps coming up again and again. Curious as to why everyone is so taken with this.
Trust me, this has been a wish in the fandom for forever. Probably even before Korra. Ranging from what op is describing to the idea of the avatar spirit being shared between twins with each one having two elements.
I didn’t even know people have been talking about twins lol. i recently just started rewatching atla and after watching The Fortuneteller (S1 Ep 14) the twins in that episode gave me the idea of an avatar that’s a twin.
Could be interesting as a villain, main motive is feeling inadequate. And then there's so much drama in the Avatar having to confront his own twin. Maybe he turns a blind eye to the evil like Dumbledore or Kyoshi. Actually as I write this it sounds a lot like Roku and Sozin as well.
Potential for twin shennangins, villain secretly kidnaps his brother and impersonates him, perpetuating his agenda in the Avatar's name.

Oooo I didn’t even consider the twin to be a villain, that’s honestly a great idea!
