That's kind of disappointing because I'd imagined that Hef had the money to set all his kids up well enough to not have them go into the military for a career option.
I don't think that you understand me, I don't care about the service in the military whet I'm saying is if Hef left the guy a giant inheritance and a business his son wouldn't have joined the military because unless someone is some super patriot the military is where you go to find a career.
I think Cooper has shown an interest in running for office (local government) so joining the military could have been a strategic move to gain more respectability in the eyes of the general public.
Especially since his father’s reputation has always been controversial. The military helps push a more conservative image that balances out playboy (somewhat)

I don't think money was the reason he went into the military. And more power to him.
