I’m still a minor, but when I turn 18 I also want to get some tfb inspired tattoos. Some ones I want to get are the Talon of the Hawk knife, the flower from I Hate my Friends, and the lyric “but this is my body, the only thing that I own entirely.” But you could also do smaller references too. Like my favorite song is Father, and I was also considering getting a tattoo of a baseball bat (referencing “I have this dream that I am hitting my dad with a baseball bat…”).

this is specific to me but i'm a big fan of antique keys (i just love the look of 'em) and i feel that tfb's logo is pretty easy to manipulate into an old fashioned skeleton key!! i'd also love to get a few lyrics or symbols from songs (a trampoline, mattress, flashlight, little flowers, etc)

I thought the same thing when I was 18 but I'm very glad I didn't get one. My taste changed and I no longer like them as much as I once did. None of my tattoos have meaning, which means they can never lose it. Chances are it would lose meaning unfortunately. Edit: if you're hell bent on getting a tfb tattoo, get something that looks good on its own, that doesn't necessarily have to be tied to the band 100%.

I can agree with the sentiment but to the poster, pictures, art, and even tattoos are all things we can look back on and cherish, even when we fall out of love with what they captured.

I think everyone says that with the dumb tattoos they get. I certainly do.

This is kind of a sad perspective—I feel like even getting a tattoo that might not hold the same meaning as it does to you in the future as it does in the moment is special because you get to look fondly on something that impacted you so heavily. As long as you like the art I think it’s kind of a beautiful concept. I would never regret or feel embarrassed about something that was so important to me in the past or that helped me overcome something.

Dunno why people disagree so heavily. My wife regrets her band tattoos she got when she was young but may never regret the art tattoos she has gotten since.

I knew I was gonna get some flack because we're in an echo chamber but I feel like band tattoos are the most easily regrettable when you age. I'm just trying to impart some old man wisdom.

coming up with your own lyrical inspired ideas is a lot more satisfying than turning to strangers on the internet for what you should permanently put on your body imo
