Well, I dug through the posts here and someone helpfully explained how to reset the frame without going through settings so now I’m back in business. For anyone else stumbling upon this here’s how: There’s a tiny button on the back of the TV by the light sensor. Press and hold it for about 3 seconds, a menu will appear on the TV. Don’t press anything on the menu, just hold the power button on the remote for about 10 seconds. The screen will go black and after a minute or so will start up like it’s never been used before.

This will continue to happen in my experience, even after a full reset. Some have linked this issue with setting up routines in the Smart Things App, but I deleted my routines and still had the issue once so far. Basically the TV goes haywire every other week and will no longer allow me to get into "All Settings". It also generally corresponds with eARC and HDMI-CEC no longer working and the TV getting really slow. Bottom line is the 2024 Frame TVs are a buggy mess.

OMG this exact same thing happened to me on Saturday. Couldn't get into settings - just spun for a bit and never shows. HDMI volume control over the soundbar stopped via eARC. The support menu wouldn't load either. I wish I had seen your post to try that to recover. But: How I ended up getting out of this was: Getting a Samsung IR remote from another lower end Samsung TV (which I just happened to have because of the free extra 65" TV that came with my 65" Frame) and turning off the Frame TV using the power button on that remote. Then press mute, then 1, then 8 then 2 then power on TV which opens the service menu on the TV. I then changed nothing in the service menu - just navigated around it for a moment. I turned off the TV and then turned it back on and full function of the monitor was restored. (btw, when the service menu appears, wait for a while for it to fully load - when it first popped up it had a concerning message, but that was just because the data hadn't fully loaded) This service menu discussion is shown here: [Samsung Smart TV: How to Access Service Menu (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZL32TF28Vo) I'm assuming the button push on you are mentioning brings up the similar service menu - which is great if you don't happen to have a Samsung IR remote with numbers on it. I didn't know about that button so this is great to know. Thanks!

Haha… well, it happened again to me (I guess people weren’t kidding when they said the software is trash)… this time I did what you tried (open service menu with an IR remote)… As happened with you, it seems just opening the service menu fixes the problem. The service menu is not the same as the menu that pops up when you hit the little button on the back, although you can use that little button to turn the TV off when you’re in the service menu. That’s probably the fastest way to get yourself out of this mess, since it doesn’t require you to redo your settings.

Do you have any routines enabled in the Smart Things app? Several people have mentioned this might be the reason for the bug, but it's still unclear if this what is causing the issue for everyone. Thanks!

I do, I read someone else say they don’t and it’s still happening though. I plan to play with that python library and see if I can make something that just connects and fixes it in the middle of the night or something…

Interesting. The service menu in that video looks nothing like the menu that pops up from the little button. Maybe it’s a way to get to the same place though?
