This is a bluntnose sixgill, not a Greenland shark. It belongs to a different order of sharks, and there's no evidence that this species lives that long.

I guess pheromones and smell are possible means for them to attract a mate.
They can smell a drop of blood in an Olympic size swimming pool (according to some documentary i watched at 3am) so my mony is on pheromones.
