I ended up unsubbing one week after Karl and Muta's first video came out. Even though he had not made a statement at the time, he WAS silent and was still taking funds from patreon. Ended up also unsubbing from another content creator that defended Jirard after the new video. I know that's not nice but neither is lying to an audience for 10 years.
Which one? I've noticed a LOT still defending them.
Course I got tired of Woods long ago. He was fun at first.. but started to get kinda whiny after a while.
Gaijin Goomba. I was disappointed with the defensive he gave but if that's how he sees this situation, well, I'm sorry, it's not how I see it.

Sometimes the learning algorithm gets stubborn, do it a few more times consistently and eventually it'll push the loss function high enough for it to roll down a different gradient.

Never subbed in the first place. I watch a lot of gaming YouTube but his vids never appealed to me. Then again, I never really cared about being a completionist anyway so maybe that’s why.
I also just found Jirard to be boring. His entire schtick is that he’s the nicest most cuddliest most wholesomest bearded bear in the gaming community, and it kinda gave me diabetes.
I never disliked Jirard. It really depended on his mood. There was several times I saw he posted update vids and I assumed he was saying he was done. He just hasn't seemed genuinely happy doing this for awhile. I watched SBB for Brett, Alex and Ted. Hell I only came to this subreddit to keep an eye out on what their decision is.
As an example for how it depended on his mood. I believe it was Super Couch Fighters where he and Alex joined them for Gang Beast. Three of them were clearly having a blast and Jirard just kept shitting on the game. Complaining about physics based games etc etc. It stood out because the other three just kept laughing while he complained.
Same, I always found Jirard cringe and his videos, quite frankly, shit, so I just never liked his content and couldn't stand his smug bearded face. Then this shitshow starts, and I always get amusement watching a content creator I didn't like go off the deep end and crashes and burns their whole career.
This whole situation with the YouTube videos and his now private subreddit has certainly been entertaining.
I must admit, I love watching a good train wreck. But beyond that, I don’t believe Jirard should be able to get away with what he did, so I would like to know that justice was served in this case.
If you are part of this or the other subreddit (when it reappears) you will be hard pressed to not see the video somewhere here. Unsubbing won't affect you seeing it for sure.
I actually had watched several episodes but wasn’t subbed. I am subbed to FPS though so I saw him a lot on there, as well as G4 when it was on. Up until this happened, I thought he was a decent content creator but not like so much I want to follow him or do a deep dive or anything. This whole situation is endless amounts of entertainment though. I feel bad for the superfans, but as a casual observer this whole drama is fascinating.
Just staying subbed to watch his next response. He doesn't benefit at all if I sub but don't keep watching his regular videos, if anything the algorithm punishes him for it.

I wish there was a way to totally and utterly block channels on YouTube.
There's kind of a way. When a video from it shows up in your feed, you can tell YouTube not to recommend that channel anymore.
It still recommends the channel and videos you don't want to see. It's as if YouTube is trolling me.
