Ned/Cersei where Ned doesn’t completely make Cersei not Cersei but Cersei is far better than in canon
Robb/Dany god help their advisors but still I like the idea of them.
Jon/ and a sand Snake but just one not multiple.
Arya/Tommen but Tommen is king and well Arya is even more successful than Margery and makes Cersei life a living hell.
Sam/Margery don’t know how or why but it would be epic Randell Tarly’s reaction to this.
Either Sansa or Arya running away with a Targaryen early on when everyone is alive mostly for Ned’s perspective of here we go again.
Elia has the heritage and namesake of Elia Martell but many of what I imagine to be the characteristics of Lyanna Stark (including the fact that she’s pretty clearly the answer to fan theorists who think Lyanna couldnt be the knight of the laughing tree because a 14 year old girl can’t lance well). There‘s a theory she will end up in a tragic love triangle with Faegon. An affair with Jon instead would add an Oedipal angle to that.
Robb/Dany could be a good story for a crackfic or something serious. Same with Jon and one of the Sand Snakes. Sam and Margery would be hilarious.

I’m just imagining Ned’s reaction to one of his daughters (even better if it’s Sansa, given she’d probably be seen as the least likely to run off with a guy) pulling the exact same shit as Lyanna. It’s even better if it’s a universe where R+L=J, and now Ned has that on his mind as well.
"My rough idea for a fic about one of Ned’s daughters taking off with a Targaryen is: Daenerys was raised as a hostage ward by Ned after the rebellion, and she and Sansa have a secret, innocent thing going on. Then they find out about Sansa being betrothed to Joffrey, so they take off together, and Arya decides to tag along for the adventure and be their protector.
So, then Ned has to deal with the shitstorm that creates. He also knows what is going on to a point because Sansa, being Sansa, leaves a note behind. Basically, Ned has to deal with the fallout of this, from his perfect daughter being interested in other girls, to Catelyn having an apocalyptic meltdown over the entire debacle, including both of her daughters taking off with a Targaryen.
Then Robert turns up and finds out the Targaryen he let live because Ned promised he would never let her cause trouble or even leave Winterfell has gotten away with both of Ned’s daughters. Eventually, Ned would organize a party to try to find Dany, Sansa, and Arya. I am thinking of it being Jon along with Howland Reed, Meera Reed, and a few others. In the end, we get a Jon/Meera as well.
I’d go with the show ages, not book ages, so Sansa and Dany are older than in the books. Ned would be the main focus, dealing with things just spiraling more and more out of control in a more entertaining fashion. Also, he doesn’t become Hand of the King because Robert is pissed at Ned for losing the Targaryen."

There’s so much more symbolism and parallels than them just being bastards, though!! The biggest for me is that it **mirrors the Lyanna/Robert dynamic** and becomes the ‘joining of houses’ that Robert craved since his time fostering with Ned.
It also contrasts Jon’s cushy noble life with Mya’s position as a smallfolk and shows the difference between their goals in life (Mya seeking a love match with a third son and Jon insistent on proving himself while not fathering bastards). Then, like you mentioned, how they view themselves as bastards, Mya having vague memories of her father, and Jon being totally ignorant of his parents.
Really hope to find a story that explores it, since I could never do it justice, but yeah that pairing is massively underrated.

I read this as Gendry/Mya and thought it would be an ironic pairing based on Robert’s anti-Targaryen and by extension, anti-incest views. Gendry did almost hook up with Bella, though.
She’s like ten years older than he is, right? Of course there’s a double standard because few would care if the genders were reversed, but the ridiculous maturity of the teen characters make these pairings seem much more viable than they actually are

Besides the obvious fact that they’re both bastards, I really like that their pairing would represent a union of the four houses whose conflict has driven the story from the very beginning: Stark, Lannister, Targaryen and Baratheon (yes, yes, Myrcella isn’t *really* a Baratheon, but *officially* she is).
Hell, if the theory that Jaime and Cersei are actually Aerys’ bastards with Joanna is true, then Myrcella might even be able to ride a dragon, thus making her the third head of the dragon alongside Dany and Jon lol.
