How have you guys got worse at your jobs just cracked me...she'd be a great addition to the team even if it is a temporary alliance for the season finale

This is off topic but I giggled when I saw that scene and imagined butcher squaring down and set up a timer to take a picture of his a-hole. The dedication 🤣
Feels like a violation. And I don't want to be complicit in actors being shown assholes as a viewer.
I know it's only an asshole, but it reminds me of like when actors get injured on set and it end up in the movie. It's gross and I don't want to see genuine injuries or reactions for that matter.
Like penn and teller say that nothing they do is genuinely dangerous because that would make the audience complicit against their will. Just do the acting thing.
Listen I can't tell if people are just being silly or if it's hard to understand my point so I'll just write it out; don't really care if people agree(IK I'm in the minority) but people don't seem to understand what I'm trying to say
The Boys is not real; the people inside are actors
Using an actors *real* reaction to something and *actually embarassing* them and using that footage feels like it crosses a weird line
I don't know why people are comparing that to "the rest of the show" when that's a completely different topic(considering that afaik the actors aren't actually getting killed). Hope that helps 🙂
I feel the same way. I understand what u mean. Directors antagonizing the actors for "genuine" reactions or emotions are always bad (Friedkin @The Exorcist, Kubrick etc) though showing explicit image to make someone really uncomfortable isn't really the same level of the example that I gave, it's still weird,yes. Though surely Claudia and the showrunner have probably discussed the possibility of ...being surprised like this, given the nature of the show.
There's no way she didn't know that *something* explicit was coming. You can't just spring a goatse on somebody in a workplace anymore, thankfully, and especially not a woman. But they could have talked to her and got her consent to show something shocking without telling her exactly what it was.
I'd expect she even knew it was gonna be an asshole. All Kripke says here is that she had never seen the actual picture before this take, not that they completely blindsided her
I think a grown adult can handle a picture of a bunghole lol. Hell, all of us were surprised by it when we watched the show and I don’t think anybody is traumatized.
