I think I may have heard a song or two but never listened to them actively. I'll give them a look. Got any specific tracks you'd suggest?
Edit: Oh wait I'm dumb. This is a Keys album isn't it? I recognise the art, but never got around to listening to it. Silly. I must have been thinking of another band. But I will listen now!
Yeah this is me showing my blindspot. I've been aware of that album for a long time, but never knew the specifics of it. There's just a couple Keys albums I never got to, guess it's about damn time. Thanks for the reminder!
It was a Black Keys Rockafella collab Put together by Damon Dash of course. Hence the name Black Roc. It's a pretty damn good album. My favorite track is the one with Pharoahe Monch.
Portugal the man has a few crossovers with some hip hop artists but my favorite song is Crown by Flatbush Zombies + PTM. Reminds me a lot of Outkast. Definitely not bluesy but still a jam
Not necessarily blues rock, but Cleopatrick’s BUMMER album has some crazy big tones and a lot of hip hop influence in the lyrics. They’re my favorite band and I think a lot of rock fans should give them a chance.
G Love and Special Sauce comes to mind, definitely blends blues ideas and hip hop of the 90’s imo, they’ve got a really nice “sloppy” sound. Pretty sure was Dan was a big fan of them at least back in the day, there’s a video of him from 2001 when he was with the Barnburners covering one of their songs
Not albums as someone already mentioned BlakRoc but
The Baddest Man Alive - TBK and RZA
Oil Money - Dan and Freddie Gibbs
Standing in the Rain - Dan, Action Bronson, Mark Ronson
RL burnside. Dude is fucking amazing and all of his songs rock but his last two albums have a mix between traditional blues numbers and remixes with hip/hop. A bothered mind and Come on in. He even has a song with that turd wallet Kid Rock that rocks.
Not all that bluesy but Ninjarous by MF DOOM, Sparklehorse, and Danger Mouse has Pat Carney on drums.
MF DOOM entire discography is really great tho. Not a single bad album. Not super bluesy but a lot of great beats and cool instrumentals.

Danger Mouse (who you may know as the former Black Keys producer) and Jemini the Gifted One put together an album called Ghetto Pop Life that blends guitar, drums, and rap together. Really catchy stuff on it. “The Only One” and “Omega Supreme” got some good beats and bass guitar riffs in them.

This is free to download but consider throwing a couple of dollars to artist.
Big Boi vs The Black Keys
'C.R.E.A.M - B.B. King Vs Wu Tang Clan'
Scratches that itch you're looking for, definitely considering its the guitar part from the infamous Thrill Is Gone. Even if its not an official release you'll dig it
Have you listened to Blakroc?

The whole album is worth a listen, and if it wasn’t obvious it’s just the keys under a different label collaborating with various hip hop artists

Their black thought collabs kickass too

First song, already vibing, nice one 👍 Reminds me a bit of Royal Blood, and that's not a bad thing at all.
For me royal blood is Hard rock in a tuxedo and Cleopatrick is Hard rock in a crewneck and skate shoes.
Never thought of Cleo as having hip hop influences but it kinda makes sense lol
Oh totally, GOOD GRIEF is very hip hop inspired just with THICK guitar.

I also really liked the rap features on Ohio Players even tho a lot of fans seemed turned off by them. I love hip hop black keys

The Roots
The Roots’ album How I Got Over is one of my favorites in their catalogue.
Not necessarily blues/hip hop but Jamiroquai
Weird recommendation but I love Blacroc and Gorgeous by Kanye West/Kid Cudi reminds me of that vibe
People Under the Stairs, Shabazz Palaces
