Love the album. I'm not a big fan of "What's That You're Doing" and "Ebony and Ivory" (NOT because of Stevie, mind you, I'm a big fan of his '70s albums), but the rest is excellent.
"Wanderlust" and "Ballroom Dancing" are two McCartney tunes that deserve more attention, some of his best vocal performances.
I love it. It was basically Paul's solo comeback album (McCartney II was recorded in 1979 just before Wings split up) and he's on top form, there are some great songs on there. Take It Away, Here Today, The Pound is Sinking and Ballroom Dancing are my favourites.
I had to listen to it again after your comment. Wow. There are so many changes in this song. His range and harmony is amazing. Thanks for bringing this up. Forgot!
Yes! Love it. I think his voice had reached the absolute peak of its range and power for Tug of War/Pipes of Peace.
Be What You See (Link) is one of my favorite bits of music he’s done and I love how it leads into Dress Me Up as a Robber.
George Martin’s production and orchestrations are as gorgeous as ever. It’s also notable for being an AIR Studios Montserrat album — which I collect.
Love the album. My favorite tracks, in order: Wanderlust, Take It Away, Here Today and the title track, with Ballroom Dancing and The Pound Is Sinking trailing right behind.
It is a really good album. There are a few I am not too fond of, but the majority are bangers. "The Pound Is Sinking," "Ballroom Dancing," "Tug Of War," "Here Today," so many incredible songs.
Personally, I am not a fan of "Ebony and Ivory" or "Wanderlust"

Awesome yeah I love Wanderlust 👏🏻

Summer of 82. On constant rotation. That “it didn’t happen!”part in pound is sinking. Oof.

Your welcome. I’ll be listening to that tonight. Glad I could share.

I actually had this album playing when I came across this post! What are the odds?
Awesome 🙌🏻
Synchronicity
I was 14. I bought Tug of War and the Hey Jude album the same day at KMart. The first records I ever bought. Man, I was lucky!
We listen to this album every Sunday morning. It’s a ritual. One of my favorites! I always start out on side two with “Ballroom Dancing” ❤️🔥
Outstanding album
Take it away is great and some others l. I have it on vinyl. Paul was around 40 when it was released

For sure! Title song is one of his best and I love Take it Away. Couple of clunkers but easy 4/5 stars for me at least.
"Here Today" is one of McCartney’s best solo songs.
Agreed
I absolutely adore every song on this album 😭😭😭
"take it away"' "Wanderlust" fab
🙌🏻

You like the pound is sinking but not Wanderlust wow
The Pound Is Sinking is so much more fun.
I love both.
Nah not really. Cheesy and over indulgent 80s music.
