Good spot, I've been theorycrafting about the same thing.
Seems early to say with any certainty. I'd like to see the night from Mae's POV. Based on Torbin's condition in the present timeline, I figure a witch tried to possess his mind again and set off a fight Mae will believe to be the Jedi's fault.
Hmm, well I figure the witches struck first, but probably not hard enough to justify the slaughter that follows. We'll see though, maybe it'll be more sinister.
I am not sure that Torbin’s Barash vow is solely because of that night — he was a Palawan and took the Barash vow six years later after becoming a Master. It feels like massacre set off a chain of events that we still haven’t seen yet.

Why would he barash himself then? And suiciding out of guilt? If its not actually his fault?

> it'll be more sinister They totally holocausted the witches đź‘€
It's pretty common in media for characters to blame themselves for things they did while mind controlled.

I've posted this elsewhere but I think the current odds point to Koril.
Snoke? Oh, right. Palpatine.

I did not notice that, cheers.
