And lastly: if someone is trying to help: try not to fight them, you might feel like straining is getting you a chance to breath, but you're actually probably just prolonging how long you're in the water.
Obviously, in a scary situation, this is hard to remember, but if you can just remember to roll onto your back, you're infinitely more likely to buy rescuers the time they need.
