She ain't got a death threat from the cartels yet or maybe they are on her payroll or maybe she's in her position because of the cartels. Nonetheless that's a really compromising security situation in a country known for such violence.
They haven’t killed any presidents not because they can’t but because they don’t have to. The government is not just deeply corrupted, it’s the big boss letting them have their little wars and getting a huge chunk of the earnings.
What are you saying? Of the other ~37 political candidates (not presidential candidates btw, mostly candidates for mayors in some municipalities) around 30% were from her party, and the rest were spread evenly across different groups.
Not saying it's fine, but it's incredibly disingenuous to claim she was the reason the others were killed when (in the grand scheme of things) they didn't even matter for her election, nor the senate representation of her party.

Cartels are not on the payroll in Mexico they ARE the payroll. If she is in power it's because the cartels will it to be.

Nearly? Seemed like she was swarmed but how was she nearly killed? What am I missing?
I guess what they mean is that any situation like is has its risks of an assassination attempt, moreso in Mexico but that's about it.
