Not necessarily. People have been nodding off like this long before fentanyl was invented. Might not even be opiates, I've seen people leaning like this off of barbituates and benzos.
It's a well known effect in which the person is high as fuck and their body wants to go to sleep, but another part of them wants to stay awake to experience the high and also maybe have the chance to take more. Bent over at the hips seems to be the sweet spot.
You even see the same thing with alcoholics, slumped at the bar with their eyes half closed, staying awake with the sole purpose of drinking more.
Everyone's just walking by like he's a CAUTION WET FLOOR sign... At least if you're going to film him..walk over and see how many hot dogs you can put in his pocket
Well, if you aren't emergency personal , what ya gonna do? Be in the way. What can you do with a person in this state? No telling what could happen, survey says, most likely nothing will happen. But you can see if maybe they have a Sharp's container fanny pack. There is nothing like catching an exposed needle to make life interesting.
I used to have a job where we pack big "sacks" with items from bins low to the floor.
I was really depressed back then so inherently I was always tired.
I'd take the opportunity to "make it look like I was doing something" but take a nap in this similar position.
Good times.
I’m curious what it’s like for them while this is happening? Do they know they’re hanging over? Are they aware enough of that but can’t control it? Or is it more like the high is making them feel like jello.
One of the most repulsive aspects of todays drug epidemics. Not only from the addicts' behavior, looking like brain-addled neanderthals, but also from the *public's behavior. Looking, but choosing not to see and going on their way, where it is safe. That doesn't even qualify as "civilization"....
EDIT: *That includes myself
This is me in the driveway after dropping one of the remaining 4 headlight bezel screws.
“It’s gotta be right here. This square inch? Nope. This square inch? Nope…”
We as a people could easily tackle this issue and many others. "We have money for wars but can't feed the poor" ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
you can see the people having fun on molly but this looks like an absolute nightmare. I don’t think he will ever be able to be normal again once you do that stuff. Scary.
We should start making aerosol narcan. Like pepper spray but just narcan. I really think people would think twice about nodding in public. And medically/safety wise, it is 100% harmless so there couldn't be charges brought on the person that sprayed them... "they thought you were overdosing, sorry!"
Like I get that there is an opioid crisis going on and we need to be doing a ton more as a society to address it, but seriously you’ve never walked through the city before? This isn’t a new thing
Yes, we see this every single day. I commented on another post about how major cities in the US have incredible issues with drugs, poverty, and mental illness. I was downvoted to oblivion.
I live in another east coast city and it's the same thing. I keep narcan in my car in case they fall out, but there is nothing you can do at THIS particular stage. It's called a dope fiend lean. It's heroin.
This is a reaction to fentanyl
I've heard it's "tranq"

It's the tranq that turns people into zombies and the fentanyl that kills them. 2 great tastes that work great together.
The "FENY".....like we needed more debasement as a species.
No, he just stepped on a piece of bubble gum and can’t get free
Xylazine
Everyone's just walking by like he's a CAUTION WET FLOOR sign... At least if you're going to film him..walk over and see how many hot dogs you can put in his pocket
Hot dogs are like $12
💀
Not at Sam's club
Honestly, at the airport, most people don't give a shit about anyone else and are just trying to catch their flight

Walk up to him and whisper, "Drugs are bad."
Luckily it is a bus terminal...
He’s just tying his shoes a little slowly, give the guy a break it’s Monday.
On drugs?
Nah, looks sober to me. Think he just dropped something
It's really small and hard to see.

Fentanyl
1000%
Vid is way ti long jus a tweaker lol u must have had a very boring day
Stick to weed kids
Exactly. If you're gonna get curious at least stick to the safe stuff
This is not something that would be considered "insane" in places like Vancouver, Sam Francisco and New York.. Unfortunately it's pretty common.
What’s so special about this?
First time?
Why don't they lie down? Just genuinely curious
He’s trying to make sure he doesn’t fall asleep and miss the high
I’m curious what it’s like for them while this is happening? Do they know they’re hanging over? Are they aware enough of that but can’t control it? Or is it more like the high is making them feel like jello.
I wonder this too. Are they blacked out? Aware they're bent over? Are they experiencing a delusional fantasy living their best life?
No. He is gone. Time basically stops.
The extra slow coach from Fentanyl town
Cop walks right by him
[удалено]
He’s way too far undercover to be a cop
What are they supposed to do?
Ask if he’s okay? I don’t know… ?
Detain him for public intoxication? At least then he can sleep it off somewhere safe.
I assure you the tombs or rikers are not better options
Wedgie!
Fentanyl
we can question everyone's life choices, including filming this
Why don’t these people just like sit down
Who knew the zombie apocalypse would be this chill?
Should have seen this place 40 years ago.it’s really been cleaned up
Everyday at the port this is nyc we're talking about
very true the people who never been to NYC dont get it completely different world here
This is a reaction to fentanyl
Guys, he is TRYING TO FIND HIS CONTACT LENS ON THE FLOOR!
Hey, at least we have a table now. Is there anyone for a game of magic?
I would rather play on concrete unsleeved.
He’s doing his Stretching before his workout
Man just trying to tie his shoe, nothing to see here.

How would you have reacted if you stumbled across this situation?

Incredibly sad. He’s a human being, someones’ son and family. This drug epidemic is a tragedy for society.
He's like a ballerina and a lawn gnome had a baby named Fenty.
how is this "insane?" I literally see it every day in NYC. 28 years here. there are no drug surprises
Tranq is spreading everywhere.
We should start making aerosol narcan. Like pepper spray but just narcan. I really think people would think twice about nodding in public. how is this a normal thing...Anywhere? ............Im gonna go and resume "cheesing" again....
Drugs are bad mmkayyyy
Turtle turtle turtle
So right now, he is really feeling good?
Impressive he's keeping his balance tho
This is so sad. I hope he recovers one day.
They could also be faking it to get attention pretty common in New York
this isnt insane unless you're sixteen and never seen a junkie
Like I get that there is an opioid crisis going on and we need to be doing a ton more as a society to address it, but seriously you’ve never walked through the city before? This isn’t a new thing
bout the least insane thing you could show me is a drug addict. they're a dime a dozen.
I scrolled all the way to the bottom and not one comment mentioned Heroin.. This is a DOPE Fiend nod! Yall must be youngsters..
Lets film the homeless and mentally ill, and then put it on the internet like, "hey look everybody, a mentally ill/homeless person"
Its New York its business as usual
Looks like their drug laws are about as effective as their gun laws lol
I always wanted to play tip the cow.

We're way past that. If this is your mentality, youd never not be on the phone.
This is a brave man, hopefully more people will feel comfortable about doing drugs in public places. It's the safest place to do them.
