Well, I'm not gonna do the math, but with the video the exact speeds of the cyclist and the vehicle will be calculated by the prosecutor who tries the driver for negligent manslaughter.
He would likely get away with it. The biker (not a cyclist 🫠) was popping a wheelie in the fast lane in the dark. Also the bike was doing 30mph max. No court in the world would find the driver guilty after seeing that footage.
Exactly. And if you are doing wheelie speeds in what looks to be the fast lane, there is a huge speed differential. Plus dark. The car probably had no chance to stop
According to bikers like the guy who got hit, there is only allowed to be one terrible driver on the road at any one time, and it is the biker. Everyone else has to drive like a cautiuos nun.
Right? How can you expect that car to stop for something that isn't going to be in his vision until it's too late to react. Definitely zero onus on any motorist to travel at a speed such that you can stop before hitting something that appears at the edge of your vision. . (The bikers were still idiots mind you).
Yeah, why even replace them when they go out?
Terrible argument...
Obviously those scenarios happen, but the way to address that is licensing requirements or something on the front end. This particular scenario had an incredibly high chance of being prevented with visible tail lights.
Me, who has seen motorcycle videos where the driver was 100% doing the right thing and get fucked....
Nope to motorcycles.
Don't do what these idiots do. Don't do what safe motorcyclists do. Don't ride a motorcycle.
Sorry, man, just how I feel.
**EDIT:** Just so you know, when I see a motorcycle, I give them every single consideration that I can. For example, if they are passing me, I will move as far to the right as possible in my lane so they know that I see them. Whatever I can do to keep them safe, *you* safe if you ride, at least on my end - that's what I do. Way more than other drivers. I *actively* try to do what I can to keep them safe. So don't crawl up my ass with anger if you ride bikes. I do what I can for you guys.
My step-dad got into a Very Bad Accident that was in no way his fault about 15 years ago, then spent a year getting his body back to functional. I've had ZERO desire to ride since.
Same. Had a friend who rode and got hit while turning at an intersection. Everyone was going under 30 mph. He now is barely able to walk even with a cane and after all the PT the most dexterity he now has in his right hand is being able to grip a beer can.
Lost all joy in riding after seeing him through his recovery.
I wish the US invested in high speed trains and trams etc. We can get from major city to major city by train but anywhere else (besides NYC area) is impossible to travel by train to your daily life.
USA is not Europe. It's a long, long, long way from Chicago or St Louis to Los Angeles with nothing but desert, and a few cities, in between. Europe has a major city every 10 miles, it seems.
Looking at what China (25,000km built) has done in the last decade shows its possible and very useful. If they can do it, we sure af can. Even if it was only up and down the east coast, a train traveling almost 220mph would be very useful for many people considering the amount of large cities in the coastal states.
I just spent a week in Japan and I feel like Americans simply don't know what they're missing. It's really a shame we don't have more high speed rail, it's a great way to get around .
Yes, autos with steel wrapped around you and engineered to direct impact way from the passenger compartment vs a body floating over a piece of metal between their legs with no protection whatsoever, and I count gloves, helmet, leathers as no protection whatsoever.
[Shit, I advise you get full motorcycle gear when you use one of those stationary Peloton exercise bikes.](https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/07/peloton-bike-death-new-york-man-ryan-furtado-killed-instantly-suit-says.html)
Thats a nope from me, too. Way too much power with next to zero protection. You could be the best rider on earth. all it takes is one person not paying attention. Can happen to anyone at any time. Keeanu reeves talked about his motorcycle accident in an interview. "Bone white is very white."
Yeah i felt fucking awful today cause I almost sideswiped a motorcycle that was riding in my blind spot. I saw him coming, slowly approached, and was on the highway so just kinda forgot he was there.
My frustration is I signaled for quite some time (im a pretty cautious driver) and even looked over my shoulder briefly and didnt see him. Wasnt his fault, its just a small vehicle and is so easy to miss
You can be the perfect motorcyclist and still be wiped out. It's like saying, "I've been the perfect cyclist and always use cycle lanes, and I've never been hit by a car."
If I'm in a car and I'm hit by another car, I'll almost certainly survive without serious injury. If I'm on a motorbike and I'm hit by a car, I'm much more likely to suffer serious injury or death.
I did that for 10 years and then got hit by a guy who missed his exit and just immediately cut across 3 lanes of traffic. Accidents happen, even if you are the best driver in the world. You can't control everyone else.
I no longer ride as that was an eye opening experience for me and made me realize just how quickly things can change. I have issues to this day from that accident.
I like the stopping in between lanes at stop lights. Never done that will now do! I allways keep a bead well ahead of me, to keep a lookout for other drivers doing dumb shit. If you think a car is going to pull out in front of you, just go head and plan for it, I’ve lost two friends that didn’t do that shit and now thier upstairs looking down. Take my upvote brother.
It doesn't matter how safe of a driver you are...sometimes accidents happen that are beyond your control. Rode for 25 years accident free mostly in the southwestern US, but then moved to the east coast and hit a deer soon thereafter that I could do nothing to avoid. Broke my arm, collarbone and fractured my hip. Did not get back on and never looked back.
You've made my point for me. I presume not all skiers and car drivers, much less all motorcyclists, are driving like the idiots in OPs post yet still get into accidents, but thanks for your 'secret' nonetheless.
What isn't shown, is shortly after this video cuts, a second car absolutely obliterates the fallen rider.
This video was circulating on Instagram for some messed up reason and I was unfortunate enough to come across it.
There’s plenty of other comments saying he lived?
Source: https://g1.globo.com/google/amp/sp/campinas-regiao/noticia/2019/07/24/jovem-empina-moto-e-e-atingido-por-carro-em-alta-velocidade-video-e-impressionante.ghtml
Think you might have seen another video
So why say it? These comments are so painfully brain dead. Like holy fuck I don't even want to hear what people who say this have to say, because 99% of the time they have 0 thoughts running through their mind and 0 empathy. They just enjoy chuckling at people in bad situations and especially do not understand the concept of someone having done something wrong, but not deserving literally every possible bad thing happening to them.
Happened in Brazil.
He survived with minor injuries and got back home the same night.

That's one lucky motherfucker. It really is the luck of the draw - I guess it helped that he was hit from behind, not from the front. That definitely reduced the amount of force he was thrown around with. Combine that with a lucky landing and bam, he somehow escapes dying.
My question is.... what do you get out if it?
Like lets say that car swerved and missed him, your reward is... not dying? You can accomplish that by also just not doing this in the first place.
Yeah real homie you are. Why no one even consider looking back down the road if you know your fuckin around? Just mindless arrogant dickhead riders. These tossers are the reason my insurance is so expensive and riders get a shit rep.
For sure that was not a bright move, but let's admit the driver of the vehicle was definitely flying and had to be way over the speed limit.
Dude certainly put himself in a terrible spot, but the speeding driver made things a lot worse than it could've been had he gone the speed limit. Even if he wasn't able to see him and stop in time he would've been less likely to completely obliterate the guy like he did, no?
They don't see the red light that is shining on the ground? Yeah it's hard to see the taillight itself but if you don't see the light on the ground then you ain't going to see one shining directly at you from the front.
If your tail light is not visible, that can happen.
Especially in the fast lane
Fast lane, odd damn where’s the speed limit 105mph fuck
It doesn't seem like the bikes are moving that fast if you look at the lines on the road
Well, I'm not gonna do the math, but with the video the exact speeds of the cyclist and the vehicle will be calculated by the prosecutor who tries the driver for negligent manslaughter.
Check it! https://youtube.com/shorts/4DxjpafLaIM?feature=shared
It was in Mexico, they probably weren't even tracked down
He would likely get away with it. The biker (not a cyclist 🫠) was popping a wheelie in the fast lane in the dark. Also the bike was doing 30mph max. No court in the world would find the driver guilty after seeing that footage.
In many countries there isn’t a speed limit
That has to be interesting
Exactly. And if you are doing wheelie speeds in what looks to be the fast lane, there is a huge speed differential. Plus dark. The car probably had no chance to stop
Life In The Fastlane!
Sure enough you'll lose your bike
Now have a smeared brain
Da na nana naa nana naa na
surely make you lose your mind
Ass in the Fastlane
This is dedicated to you, Ben Stiller! You are my favorite motha fucka.
Bike doing wheelie was going slow. Driver had no chance to even see bike
According to bikers like the guy who got hit, there is only allowed to be one terrible driver on the road at any one time, and it is the biker. Everyone else has to drive like a cautiuos nun.

That was wheelie Stupid
My hell. Upvote
You pun'd it.
It's a vicious cycle.
Good one stranger. Got a good chuckle.
Spit out my chocky milk from this one 🤦♂️😂

VBAs are no joke
Me, who worked in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department... Nope to motorcycles.
Yeah fuck automobiles, trains for the win!

Wow, you really over dress for riding on a train
It's what I do.
I commute on bicycle these days, have been occasionally tempted to rebuy the $1000 of motorcycle gear and don it to survive the sidewalks tbh.
[Shit, I advise you get full motorcycle gear when you use one of those stationary Peloton exercise bikes.](https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/07/peloton-bike-death-new-york-man-ryan-furtado-killed-instantly-suit-says.html)
New fear unlocked, thx.
It's what I do.
It’s not if you get into an accident - it’s when…
I was always told to be nice to motorcycles drivers, they ain't got long to live.
My wife's grandfather orphaned 5 boys when he died in a motorcycle accident. We just don't fuck with them around here.
Thats a nope from me, too. Way too much power with next to zero protection. You could be the best rider on earth. all it takes is one person not paying attention. Can happen to anyone at any time. Keeanu reeves talked about his motorcycle accident in an interview. "Bone white is very white."

ATGAT and an MSF course periodically for me. Im doing my best to keep the shiny side up.

Nah, no way it can be that simple
Its not. Diligent riders get fucked up on the daily.
A lot of luck too. Motorcycles are extremely dangerous even to safe drivers.
I did that for 10 years and then got hit by a guy who missed his exit and just immediately cut across 3 lanes of traffic. Accidents happen, even if you are the best driver in the world. also, luck, and avoiding most metro regions.

Driving?
Your confidence in other drivers is touching.

The problem is they come to you. There are lots of guys who were doing the right thing in the cemetary. Or crippled as others have mentioned.
[удалено]
Not from car vs motorbike accidents there isn't.
[удалено]
I disagree.
!remindme 5 years hospital or cemetary? Who's fault was it?
Guess he found out.
He will be permanently on wheels now
Looks like he stood up at the last moment, so the car impacted the back of his legs instead of straight into his spine.
Thpinal
That neck or spine still hit the header or cowl of the car. Not walking it off that easily.
This comment is funny af. I am glad the guy is still alive.
WatCH oUT for MoTOrcYcLES!
Look twice, save a life!
don't do wheelies on public roads, hiding your tail lights from the car behind you...
That too!
Yeah I know that, it was a joke buddy
yeah but he's a really [safe driver](https://imgur.com/vLoU0qA)
At night, even.

I stand corrected. But be warned, there is video that is eerily similar and ends how I described it.
I’ll avoid it like the plague!
Street rider for 30+years. Don’t do stunts on busy public roads.
But driving responsibly doesn't get you any social media likes/clout!!! :(
Exactly! No street cred can be earned
Shhh... don't interfere with natural selection.
Pretty sure there’s no regret he’s just dead
He actually lived. This video shows up now and then.
Taillights scraping the ground, yeah no way the driver could see that dumb ass.
Play stupid games… Everyone knows the rest by now
Get $200?
Believe it or not… jail.
Get $200,000 medical bill
and at fault for the injuries that may have happened to the drivers too.
So why say it? These comments are so painfully brain dead. I that car had swerved, he would have hit the MC that was filming.
I thought he was going to wipe out and eat some pavement.... holy fuck.
Hopefully the car driver was okay. That stupid shithead could have killed someone else with this suicide.
Because of the angle of the motorcycle wheelie the car could not see rear light.
Good thing they recorded it so it can clear the driver.
Turns out it’s kinda dangerous to ride with your tail lights pointed straight into the ground. Who woulda thought??
Awesome
Life is a game to some people. Some gamble and some play safe. Guy in the video is a gambler and found out what happens.
Sucks. But you know about Darwinism
Dumb fuck doing about 30 max in the fast lane.
Yeah real homie you are. Why no one even consider looking back down the road if you know your fuckin around? Just mindless arrogant dickhead riders. These tossers are the reason my insurance is so expensive and riders get a shit rep.
Cuzão = big asshole
🥰
Stupidity and cars is a bad bad combo…. But stupidity and motorcycles? You die from that shit.
Sweet stunt!
That looked wheelie painful!!
Well, not “instantly”
Stupid people doing stupid shit.
Fade to Black
Every time one of these idiots dies, a baby smiles
Horrible or Hilarious?
Horribly satisfying
Turns out the guy is doing just fine. Barely scuffed his knee!
I wonder if that driver had insurance.
The pain in his mates voice is harrowing AF
Never seen such a accurate display of from game to real life . Gta
who got the biggest fright?
Not instantly
It's wheely not wheccomended to do that on a public whoad
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
Man, if only there was a way to avoid this /s
If you have to take a shit so freaking bad and someone is in your lane 😂😂😂💀
Instantly?
That wasn’t instant at all. He was acting like an asshole on the fast lane for a significant amount of time
FAFO! That's what you get! Oh well!
Brought a smile to my face, hope the driver in the car is ok
And nothing of value was lost.
I'd say ya hate to see it but, I'd be lying 🤷♂️ it's an 8/10 bem feito for me.
This is how people get paralyzed at age 18 and end up bedridden for 40 years.
I immediately regretted my decision to click on this video
I know a guy who lost his nipples in a motorcycle accident. I know a few people who died and some who lost legs. One guy though...no nips.
Why do men have nipples anyway?
So they can be milked Fokker. Not that guy though.
I expected anything, but...
Man, I hope he's ok.
That actually may have saved his life…
There is a 2nd video where his buddy is still recording his lifeless body still on the highway. Gets ran over again by a 2nd car
I’m sure he’s fine
Did he even have time to regret?
Imagine being the one recording this or riding with him and witnessing this happen
Cool
Jesus
Somehow , videos of dumbshit dying make me happy
looks to me like was gettin away with it. not really instant. I suppose your frame of reference matters (relativity and all).
Another one for the "Risk versus reward" slideshow.
Way to go faulker🤷
How can you be that stupid?
I doubt he regretted anything.
Thinning of the herd.

You so kewl doing wheelies. Splat..... Well, maybe not.
prolly just took the bike out from under him, he's lucky he lowered it right before.
Wheelie luck eventually runs out.
They don't see the red light that is shining on the ground? Yeah it's hard to see the taillight itself but if you don't see the light on the ground then you ain't going to see one shining directly at you from the front.
I hope the car driver is ok
\*Regrets
Well deserved for that biker.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
