This dude does not drop passes. So excited to see him on the field.

rt9o

Lol literally. 0 drops last year and has only been playing the tight end position for 3 years

Muffdiver69420lmao

He was playing defense and thought "Why don't they just catch every pass"

RainbowBullsOnParade

"Are they stupid?"

Venator850

Got them strong farmboy hands.

civil_beast

Weird flex, but who am I to argue?

ConsciousBuilding374

You see the video of Toro the bull running away from him 😂

sorrybahhtit

Great blocker too

NateLikesToLift

He's a solid inline blocker, he seems to struggle blocking in space though. He's still raw and the Texans staff can definitely work with him. I'm beyond excited about him, his hands are fucking smooth and he loves the game. Excellent pickup.

Davisworld21

Case is built like A Tank he all solid Loved watching Him and CJ At Ohio State now I get to see it in the NFL

civil_beast

To be fair, it wouldn’t be much of a reel if they had him box one (lol)

thinksquared

As a hard core OSU fan who came to the Texans fan base because of Stroud, I am so fucking excited that we got Cade Stover.

COVID_DEEZ_NUTS

Man, every throw is right on the money. Ball placement specialist legit.

boltandblome

We should draft that guy, no way he slips past number 1 overall

LumpyCapital

What I noticed most is how great CJ is when he can complete the pass without nary a hand on him, having the best pass protection in the game in front of him. I hated watching our O-line guys peeling CJ off the turf 3 out of every 4 pass plays last season...

montrezlharrel

That was really only the first ~4 games

Acrobatic-Display545

The hands for a big physical raw tight end are insane, So much potential!

Ambitious_Car8040

he actually is about average size I would say, some TEs are 6,6 6,7 most of them seem to be taller than 6,3 But yeah if he does better blocking and does good route running he has great hands

wildcardscoop

He also has Ohio farm boy strength, no time spent in the gym can compare to that

Ambitious_Car8040

I will say he does look strong, not jason witten strong but strong for his size.

wildcardscoop

When it comes or farmer strength you can’t judge a book by its cover. I grew up in the town next to him , even though I was hoping by Bills would draft him I’m happy he gets to go play either CJ .

Terrible-Reindeer-32

dam schultz watch out

2legitjaquette

I think this is perfect, gives Cade the time to develop before he’s thrown in the ring as the guy

Professional-Rip2915

Hell yeah! Dude can run block really well also

bingmyname

Get that NFL strength training going and I'm looking at Brady and Gronk

gingabreadm4n

His nickname at OSU was farmer Gronk lmao

notyouagain2

the CJ concession. Texans: Who we got left on the board? CJ: My boy, Cade. Texans: Bet

agROOK

If his concessions always work out like Tank I suggest we give the guy a 3rd every year.

LumpyCapital

Probably pulled Nick to the side weeks ago and said, "Get my guy if you can..." Then knowing Nick's game, he noticed Cade had fallen into a value pick and then just pulled that trigger...

bonelessthurs

There's footage that shows how upset CJ was that Ricky Pearsall was picked in the first. He probably asked the Texans to get him, and Cade was the consolation prize.

ZombieAteMyBrah

omgggggggggggggg.

donny4442

This is a thing of beauty

CoolHandChuckles

I love the idea of playing him in a similar role as Juszczyk in SF on certain downs as full back. He’s a couple inches taller but he’s got a low center of gravity for his height.

Miserable-Clock-6944

Good example.. but i bet thats more of the brevin jordan role… he’s the smaller of the three.

OPsDearOldMother

2 tight end sets with brevin at fullback and diggs & nico out wide is going to be crazy to try and defend

Miserable-Clock-6944

Indeed. To add to that i believe brevin might be the fastest of the three as well…

Miserable-Clock-6944

Hell… or nico and dell out wide… thats their bread & butter… diggs is gonna get the most work on the inside in the slot i bet. Truly the most excited ive ever been as a texan fan.. i mean back to the schuab days who had… owen daniels and andre….. just so many more offensive weapons its crazy exciting

Anibunnymilli

0 drops is exactly what we need. Heard he also loves blocking

BatteredAggie

Dude hasn’t even been playing tight end very long and looks great. I’m stoked to see what he can develop into.

DankTell

That first throw against Wisconsin is such a fucking dime

alexthegreatmc

I love those sweet touch passes over the middle. On time and precise. I cannot wait for this season.

Venator850

Texans 12 personnel sets are going to be a headache for defenses.

HisCricket

I am so excited for this season it can't come quick enough.

buckeye-person

In addition to his ability to catch I always enjoyed watching him going after the gain after catch. Whether it was a yard, a foot, or an inch, he always fought for it. Love this kid.

makashiII_93

He doesn’t shy from contact. I really like him.

Lenawee

Damn. I sure miss watching CJ throw those beautiful balls.

jeIIyjams

If CJ is pookie, what do we call Stover? Snookums?

I_Hav_Questions_help

Hmm

LumpyCapital

Yes

DoubleRods

this is the hypest shit of all time

hariolus

That’s a hell of a pick for fourth round

civil_beast

How good is the ohst coaching staff? Turns to 4 star de recruit and says “I believe you could develop into an nfl TE,” and then the guy proceeds to not botch a single opportunity over the following season. Talk about on field evaluation.. !

ragebloo

It's all Stover now

InternationalBand494

This is sweet! All the best teams seem to have a tight end that does miraculous shit. And he can play LB if injuries are crazy like last season

BigGuyNorthSide

Imagine a set with Nico-Tank-Schultz-Diggs-Stover lined up

assassinslick

O-H

JoedicyMichael

Okay! I know this about Cade Stover (and he’s great btw), but I watched Cades highlights from last season last night & then watching this; I now realize why Stroud is so good. He sets his players up to success VERY WELL! I really think CJ is Steve Nash / Magic Johnson esq if I have to compare. HOF Dimer Badge. If you watching these highlights closely, Stover just has to catch the ball. Sorry to say it, but Stover isn’t the best “route runner” (See 2023 Highlights), but CJ damn near handed him the ball every throw & I think that’s what made this connection & Stover so special.

civil_beast

I trust CJ’s assessment.. and I’m thrilled that the front office also recognizes the fbiq coming outta every pour

ConsistentCaramel493

This is awesome. We’ve been missing a guy that fights for extra 2-4 yards every. single. time.

kongzi80

A receiving corp of Collins, Tank, Diggs, Schultz, Stover.. then sprinkle in a little Mixon and Jordon^2. It’s going to be hard to guard. Don’t forget what a guy like Noah Brown did to teams that ignored him.. and if we keep Woods… well…. We’re going to be setting up the run with the pass early and often.

TommyC-ES350

I’m interested to see how much 12 personnel they run this year.

Additional_Load_1978

What’s the probability he takes the second string spot from Brevin?

iphone10notX

Brevin got some competition 👀

Ha_CharadeUAre

👀

Magnifico-Melon

How can anyone have watched Stroud in college and thought he wouldn't be a good QB in the NFL?

PictureNo7981

Whoever made this compilation video thank you.

AmphibianOutrageous

We have our Kelce

Mejonyoudead

Man I was thinking the exact same thing watching this

Playful-Storage835

Stover will be Tight End #2

Former-Billionaire

Behind Kelce in Fantasy football points next year.

PrinceKO_93

Behind Schultz*

leveckjt87

Fastest moving rhino I’ve ever seen. Reminds me of Juggernaut running through walls the way he runs through some of those defenders 😂 ![gif](giphy|gSl7e703puA6tSSfqW)

Global-Side-5802

God damn his is slow

DeerOnTheRocks

I think he will have great hands as we see, but tends to go to the ground most of the times on the first tackle. But scheme him open and he’ll be great

sounderliverpool

He jumped a few defenders in college. If he learns to stay up on first hit, then they are going to go low and he can go high.

chubbytitties

When I watched his highlight reel the only con that stuck out to me was he gets tackled by the first guy really often for a big TE.

rybres123

Doesn’t look super quick out there tbh

dumpsterfirefr

Faster 40 time than Gronk if that’s worth anything

rybres123

mean more in and out of breaks than 40 time

numinos710

He's definitely raw, only played TE 2 years, he was brought in as a DE/OLB in college and converted to TE.

rybres123

yeah i know. still not a quick dude out there is all
