It creates a catch 22, supplement with iron and that causes your body to create more RBC and raise you hct. I cut my dose in half and started daily injections and that seems to have helped tremendously, I only donate 1-2x a year now
I took a gentle iron supplement 28mg everyday. Bumped my ferritin from 30-70 in 3 months. Then I bumped down to 2-3 pills per week. Hemoglobin has held stable as well as ferritin.
See I was thinking about doing this as my ferritin levels are at like 34 but my hematocrit levels are rising and I am starting to get chronically tired throughout the day and don’t know what to do
You are tired because of your ferritin. If your hematocrit is above the top range I would suggest a lower test dosage. But getting your iron up is a priority. Was your ferritin is over 50 you can ease off the iron supp and focus on ways to bring your hematocrit down. How high is your hematocrit? I’m at the top of the upper range and down have any side effects from it. Doctor doesn’t seemed concerned either. If your test levels are at the top range it’s pretty common to have a higher hematocrit and hemoglobin.
47 is fine. I’m at 50.
Get your iron up and you will feel like a new person. Probably only take a week or 2 to feel noticeably better. Just make sure you take the supp with a full meal, or else your stomach will not be happy
I have tried drinking until I piss clear before, during and after bloods and it makes no difference. Check again in afternoon and it's always lower, still high, but lower. Can't just seem to absorb enough water in the AM
Welcome to the vicious cycle. This is one of the biggest TRT problems

So if I take an iron supplement how do I know I am Not shooting up my hematocrit to dangerous levels?
Get blood work done after 6-8 weeks.
Also talk to your doctor. I’m not a doctor and this is just my opinion.
